My red maple needed a pruning, and I wanted a real arborist to take a look at it. It was easy to contact Scott with text messages. We made most of our contacts via text or email. A large crew came out. We discussed what needed doing and they got to work. Within about an hour, they were done, cleaned up, and ready to go. I am satisfied with the pruning. I asked if more could be removed, and the trimmer explained that the new growth might sunburn if he took much more. That seemed reasonable to me. I was quoted $1650 and I was charged $1650. I tried to negotiate for a reduction, but Scott was firm. I paid more than I wanted to or than the job seemed to take, but my tree looks very nice. I would work with these guys again. read more

Five stars for Scott, Carter, and crew! We moved into a home that had a huuuuge unruly eucalyptus that was partially over the roof, that needed a good trim and cleanup. I wanted to make sure it was healthy because it is so large; and therefore, wanted a certified arborist to check it out before having any work done. Scott responded promptly to my call and came out quickly to check the eucalyptus and other trees I needed trimmed or removed. He is a nice guy who is very professional, seemed honest to me, and reasonably priced. His crew is well knowledged on proper tree trimming and balancing. Scott had his crew come out within a week of us first meeting. The foreman, Carter, and five other guys comprised the crew. However, Carter was in contact with Erik throughout the entire process and sent him pictures of the work in progress. Carter and crew were extremely careful with all the trees, but I was especially appreciative of their caution when trimming the large eucalyptus with very heavy branches. I enjoyed watching the tree climbers do their thing. The eucalyptus tree looks beautiful again. In Scott's words, she looks "light and happy"! The guys on the ground were constantly picking up debris and chopping branches so they left the area clean. I will have them back for additional work because Scott and crew earned my trust and I did not feel taken advantage of. They also grinded all stumps/roots. Highly recommend! I am so grateful that Scott came over to our house the same day I called to do a tree assessment of our three big redwoods in the back. My husband and I have been worried about the trees and in the recent storms the middle tree was moving and lifting around the rootball. I love these trees and wasn't sure what to do. Scott came and did a thorough inspection of the tree and surrounding soil, looking for cracks and asking about whether we saw the lifting on both sides or just one side of the tree. He provided helpful information in an easy to understand manner. He also provided helpful recommendations on other trees we could plant. He mentioned he had been to multiple conferences and discussed with me some of the pros and cons of redwood tree thinning, but said ultimately he believes the cons outweigh the pros for redwoods. Ultimately, he said if it was his house, he would remove the middle tree, the one lifting in the last wind storm, but leave the other two. He even thought that the other two may fill out and become even healthier with a little more space! It was very helpful to hear that he thinks the other two trees will be fine even after removing the middle one, even though their roots are likely connected. I am so relieved! The Fair Oaks Arborists helped us remove two large broadleaf privet trees in my backyard, as well as trim and shape my front yard trees. The privets had become unmanageable and were in awkward locations on our property, closely touching fences, a concrete patio, and a pergola. The larger privet's branches and canopy extended into all 4 of my neighbors' small backyards. The team showed up on time and was exceptionally professional. They were able to remove the trees quickly without any damage to the fences or other areas.
