My olive tree has signs of insect infestation from borers, which can kill a tree. A few years ago, I had another olive tree with the same problem. I called a guy who trimmed and removed trees and he recommended that I remove it. Which I paid him to do. Since I wanted to save this tree I figured it was important to find a certified arborist, not just a tree service company. Fortunately, I looked around and found Mike DuPont, owner of Capital Arborists, who is an ISA Certified Arborist. Mike came out and inspected the tree to determine its viability. He explained the problem and instructed me on how to apply the systemic insecticide, which I had on hand. He educated me on how often I should use it, what times of the year, and follow up steps to optimize the treatment. I thought I might need to water the tree more (e.g., buying a soaker hose). Mike informed me that wasn't necessary. In fact, too much water can hurt a olive tree. Did I need to trim the tree so keep it healthy? No, it looked good to Mike. So, Mike armed me with the information so I could take care of the tree ongoing. Wish I had found Mike before I spent the money to remove the first olive tree. I might have saved the other tree and the money I spent removing it. read more

Once a manager called back he said HE made the mistake and canceled us and we would not be serviced for another month. I asked to speak to the owner for 2 days and they never called. I wasn't very happy when Jeff the owner said it was best to remove the tree, and not just cut it back. He explained the science behind his recommendation and the root structure and was extremely knowledgeable. The crew was on time and removed several trees. They were all extremely polite. Jeff and his crew did an amazing job removing a large oak on our property. The tree was failing and had to be removed for safety reasons. The gear he used made the job safe for his team, which was challenging given the state of decay of some parts of the upper canopy. The lift was able to get into my back yard (4' of clearance) and was very impressive to watch the crew utilize (and a lot cheaper than other bids that were going to rent a gigantic crane from the street and over my house). We had this company come and cut down 1 tree and trim 3 others in Lincoln CA. They arrived 3 hours earlier than the agreed time but we were home. I believe there were 5 people in total and they made short work of the job to be performed. Left the yards clean and picked up all tree debris. Trimmed trees were excellently pruned. Only hiccup was that the backyard gate was left propped open and we have 2 dogs. I went out in the backyard with the dogs and noticed the open gate and closed it quickly. read more

We removed our front Lawn three years ago to relandscape with more water conserving plants. Unfortunately, this disturbed the roots of our mature Carolina Cherry Laurel tree. The leaves were thinning and yellowing. A couple years after treatment by the team at Capital Arborists, it's back in great health. They also fertilize other plants in the front and back yard keeping them green and vigorous. They know their stuff. Last week we had them remove a camphor tree thats roots were proving too invasive for our raised beds. They worked amazingly quickly, were careful of the other plantings, and cleaned up afterwards.
