She did not review her treatment plan with me, rather pawned me off to a dental assistant to tell me a plan , along with the astronomical price. It was shocking to me, then when I showed up for the procedure, they did not know what the plan was that I was told about in the first place. At the time of the procedure, it became way more extensive than was initially presented, and an additional $500 charge that was never disclosed until I was trying to escape the office after being hostage for over 3 hours in unnecessary procedures. Oh, during the procedure, Dr Fraser just snuck away without a word and let her assistant take over! I did not even realize someone else took over till she apologized for ramming her swivel chair into my arm repeatedly. The fillings I did not even need are terrible, messy, and painful. It is my fault for ever letting that greedy butcher and her staff come near me. No, I would not recommend.

They offered to give me a filling on 2 of my teeth right then and there ( one being the broken one and the one next to it that needed it) They talked me through it and reassured me every step of the way. I went back 2 days later for a teeth cleaning, since it had been 2 years. The hygienist was so kind and gentle and did an amazing job. There was no shame or judgement since it had been so long. My husband went with me to my initial appointment and was also highly impressed, enough so that he is going to switch over and start seeing them as well.

He actually had hired Trish, an excellent hygienist who had worked at one of my previous dentists, who had retired. I thought one of that dentist's tricks on one tooth could work again on two adjacent teeth. It was experimental, but Dr. Maxwell thought of a way to proceed that would not cost that much, but test the idea. He did it differently (by accident!), but it worked and I still have that bridge six or seven years later! Great staff, friendly wife who works the front desk sometimes. His skills are exceptional, for example, the little strips of paper he uses, he often only needs one, one time or two, and gets the right fit. Of all my dentists throughout life, he is surely the best by skill, knowledge, and personality!

But probably the deal breaker was that for a routine check up after the dental part of the appt. we would've had to wait SIX MONTHS for a cleaning. We've NEVER run into this kind of arrangement in our collective 140 year experience. One explanation, we thought, was that they couldn't hire or retain enough dental hygienists. And why is that? Are there not enough dental hygienists in St. Augustine, or does the practice not pay them enough or otherwise provide a miserable working experience? Who knows, and really we don't care. We are tired with tolerating drama anywhere for whatever reason, so we're going back to our "old" dentist in Orlando. We got two appts. about 10 days out from contacting them. The appt. includes a cleaning.

Long story so I'll condense it. The office was very clean and I found the staff to be very nice and helpful. The hygienist, Kerry, put me at ease, while getting me prepped. Dr. Pinker was professional and took his time making sure that the area was numb. When he started working he explained what he was doing each step of the way. It all went smoothly, with some minor discomfort when he was removing the two nerves. Explaining that the other nerves were very close. Nothing major. He cleaned up the area and then put in a couple stitches. I wasn't sedated but had a few numbing injections and laughing gas. Two suggestions I would give him is, come in before we begin to prep and introduce himself. Because I think it'd be nice. And secondly, perhaps they should call the next day and ask how the patient is doing. I've always had the doctor or dentist do this when I lived elsewhere. Just a nice gesture. But, otherwise, I'm very pleased with my outcome.

Well a couple months later the tooth fell off so i went back to see Dr Pinker and he told me he does not remember this and will not replace my tooth. How can a surgeon not remember what happened when he pulled 3 teeth out of my mouth that day. So i lost a $3000 tooth because of him.
