Do not recommend for dental work. Dr. Yi recommended that I get all of my "old" fillings redone by him -- although it was pricey, I decided to listen to his recommendation. He started with the right side of my mouth and from March 2023-August 2023 I was unable to chew ANY food on the right side of my mouth (even soft items such as bananas) because he put in a filling to a lower right tooth completely incorrectly. I went in for 3-4 "adjustments" and then he just recommended a crown (a permanent, drastic measure) to fix my tooth pain. Although his recommendation of unnecessary new fillings led to the tooth pain and supposed damage requiring a crown, he then wanted to charge almost $600 to put in a crown. I refused and left him as a patient. I finally was able to go a reputable dentist who stated that the filling was input incorrectly and that the filling had to be removed and redone. This reputable dentist remove the filling and redid it in the correct way, and I was able to eat, chew, and use the right side of my mouth immediately. It was infuriating and horrible that I couldn't eat properly for over five months -- DO NOT recommend Dr. Yi or Fairfax Corner Dental for dental work. Dr. Yi did do a good job with TMJ/jaw issues, so I do refer him for that purpose ONLY - NO dental work. read more

I want to update my review to say that Narjis, my new hygienist (not really new I have seen her about a year now), is so thorough, like really thorough, and very good at explaining how to get to the problem areas. She and I are partners in the care of my teeth and gums! I know, it feels weird to say and I have never had this experience before but I really appreciate it. Overall the experience was fantastic. I was in a tough spot as my tooth was hurting and I was about to leave for a work trip for a week. My regular dentist did not have any openings and was not able to take me. I called this wonderful place and everything got a lot better and quickly! Emsie picked up the phone and got me scheduled very quickly. They were able to onboard me as a new patient and have me stop by for a check up within an hour. Dr. Mouchahoir did the procedure. I wish I could separate this review. Dr. Yi is a phenomenal dentist. All the work I've had done by him is terrific. He's personable and very good at explaining the work he's doing and why it needs to be done. The hygienists working with him have always been great. In fact, the actual appointments never seem like a chore because everything is handled so well. What does seem like a chore is deal with the front office people. His receptionist and billing people range from rude to incompetent. As long as you can grit your teeth and get through dealing with them the visit will be a great one. read more

I've been coming here for a few years and overall had a decent experience. However I came in today for my 6 month cleaning and exam. I was 10 minutes late. The hygienist took me to the back and notified me that the dentist just left because she didn't feel like waiting anymore so we would only be doing the cleaning and not the exam. Are you serious? How is that professional? I scheduled this appointment 6 months ago AND took the day off work to get here and that's the type of service I get? I realize I was late but it would have taken her longer than 10 minutes to do my exam. A phone call or apology would have been appreciated so I didn't waste my time coming here this morning. read more

I went to Dr. Yi and Dr. Tehrani's office in Fairfax after a couple of absent years in the dental chair. I was so impressed by the level of care and attention Dr. Yi and his team provided. My hygienist, Natalia, spent additional time and care to thoroughly remove surface stains from my teeth. It was a very comfortable and effective appointment and the result impressed me tremendously. I have been really pleased with this dental group. I've only seen Drs. Tehrani and Mouchahoir and I thought they both did a good job on 2 sets of fillings I had to have. They were very careful in filing down/polishing the fillings, so my bite was correct. I really like their bedside manner. The hygenists were also very good - both of the ones I've seen seem to have a good bit of experience. I have not had any problems with the front office. I haven't seen Dr. Yi, but my husband has seen him and liked him. I had to have two fillings replaced because they broke after I went to Dr. Dehyar in Burke - stay away from him! This group is much better. I wish I'd gone to them all along! read more

We have been patients at Fairfax Corner Dental since 2008. The doctors and their staff are the best of the best and even though we live down in Fredericksburg we travel back to Fairfax to see them. I've been coming here for the 3 years my military family and I have lived in Fairfax and I have nothing but good things to say about everyone here. I read some of the other reviews and I seriously can't believe it's the same place. The front office staff is always wonderful to me, we talk the entire time I'm waiting for my appointment. The hygienist always does an amazing job and on top of that she remembers my kids and always asks about them by name. My dentist, Dr. Mouchahoir is great. She walks me through any procedure I need done and is super helpful when I have any issues, like I needed a crown, but I'm doing invisalign through my orthodontist right now so she completely worked around what I could do. I love them here and don't look forward to having to find a new dentist when we get transfered. read more

I've been going to different dentists over many years and never stayed with any after one visit until my coworker referred me to Dr. Yi. I know how experienced Dr. Yi is after he replaced my crown. It was done perfectly. I also had the root canal done and it was painless. My most recent visit was routine cleaning and check up. Went to Dr Yi today for a cleaning. They started taking x-Rays. Then he starts poking my gums telling me I have gum disease. I told him I'm not here to put your kids through college! I got up and left before the cleaning. He's just trying to run up his billing. Save yourself and go somewhere else. read more

I wanted to take a moment to write about an experience that typically gives most people a reason to procrastinate - going to the dentist. Over the years I've had pretty bad experiences with dentists and finally decided to find a pro who could restore my smile. After doing some research I settled on Fairfax Corner Dental. I met with Dr. Tehrani and Dr. Yi and went over all that needed to be done, which was quite extensive. I chose the sedation path to minimize the anxiety, number of visits to accomplish my goals, and the reduced length of healing time. Last Wednesday I had all the work completed. To be honest, I had less pain the day after than having a standard cavity filled in a traditional method. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has any anxiety in going to the dentist. I remember almost nothing of the entire process! Dr. Yi took care of the sedation and surgical portions of the process, Dr Tehrani did everything else. She worked from 9am to 4:30pm nonstop and did an unbelievable job. I had so much silver in my mouth from years of small cavities being filled by less than talented dentists, I never imagined my mouth with just white teeth. I knew I was to have an extraction, bridge fixed, cavities filled, and other standard procedures accomplished, but she rebuild/restored every tooth in my mouth. She is a true artist. I've read one negative poster regarding Dr. Tehrani and I wonder what the real truth is behind the complaint. I have had a lot of prior experience with bad dentists and Dr. Tehrani isn't one of them. Dentist require a good working partnership between the Dr. and patient for a successful outcome and I suspect the patient part of the partnership was at the heart of the problem.. ... read more
