Money grabbing service, upselling procedures and treatments and scare mongering patients to get expensive procedures that very day, which are probably not required. I wasted 2 hrs at this establishment because I changed insurance and I would say don't waste your time with this place, they had one dentist (dr patel) who was trying to see 3-4 patients simultaneously and at one point I waited 25 min in the procedure chair, waiting for them to clean my teeth, I clearly wasn't a priority as I was just getting a basic clean. when the truth of the matter is that they are too cheap to hire a hygienist, and this dentist wants to save costs by doing everything at the expense of patients time. An assistant took scans which took forever with cheap looking make shift equipment, this same technician sprayed water into my eyes and tried to brush fluoride on to my lips several times asking me to close my eyes, what a waste of my morning, but I'm glad I trusted my instincts with this grubby, dirty, cheap, make shift inexperienced, immoral place. If you have no faith in what the dentist is saying, because all you hear is muttering in the corridor area near your room about why the insurance person was not able to convince me to complete a deep clean and spent $300. why ever would i trust them with doing any procedures or cleaning when they have no real morals or ethics, despite this dentist being a healthcare professional there was no discussion of my wellbeing diet lifestyle let alone how I brush my teeth, it was all about making money all the equipment was also make shift looking and not professional I'm guessing it's all on lease, and all this is driving all the money grabbing. My advice - stay well away, if you absolutely have to go, get a basic checkup and basic clean. Get a second opinion before any expensive procedures. definitely do not take your kids to this place, it doesn't have staff skilled enough to see them let alone adults, pay out of pocket and go elsewhere. read more

My lovely reusable dentist isn't on my insurance so I "cheated " on her for a cleaning, which led to two crowns and cavity. These were necessary, but the staff reminded me why I love my other dentist. First, I have a tiny mouth. Like child-sized small. Despite all my warnings and repeated requests to be more gentle, I kept being told "open wider" (can't) and having assistant instruments poking into gums. Second, the billing. THE PRICE THEY QUOTE IS NOT THE CHEAPEST POSSIBILITY. They make crowns in house, which is great. But it costs a fortune, something they don't explain isn't covered by insurance. When I tried to contact billing, it took me three weeks of promised return calls before I finally got hold of someone. The front office staff isn't particularly pleasant. But worst of all was this: my first visit the high-tech computer monitor showed each dentist's schedule of patients--include their name, birthdays, and procedures. When I mentioned this HIIPA issue to the front desk, I was met with a shrug. The second visit had the schedule hidden, but my concern remained. Today I went back to my regular dentist because the crown was hurting. Turns out the MFCD dentist had made an error or so, causing me weeks of pain. (Yes, I went back in.) AVOID. read more

Tried to scam my daughter into buying a crown she did not need. My daughter had her first visit with Fairfax Modern Dentistry about a year ago. She was experiencing pain in one of her lower back molars. X-rays were taken, and it was determined that she needed a root canal and crown. The work was done, and she was told to return in six months for a check up and cleaning. Fast forwarding to my daughter's six month checkup, she was told that she now needed a crown for the lower back molar on the other side. This came as a surprise as the dentist should have been able to detect a problem (or at least warn about a potential problem) when X-rays were taken six months prior. (While I'm not a dentist, common sense would dictate that a tooth which had no apparent problems when X-rays were first taken should not turn so bad that it would require a crown just six months later.) Nor had my daughter experienced any pain in that tooth. She also reported that, aside from a visual exam, she had only received a cleaning at this appointment. No x-rays or anything else. At any rate, my daughter made an appointment for the second crown but ended up canceling after having second thoughts. In the meantime, we received a statement from insurance indicating that the dentist had billed for bite-wing X-rays and other services which were NOT provided during the 6-month checkup . . . This week, my daughter had an initial checkup with a new dentist. That dentist told her she had no cavities and only needed to come back in six months unless she had a problem. My daughter was also told that any sensitivity she may have in the area of the second back molar was sourced in the gums and was due to insufficient flossing in hard-to-reach areas. Again, there was no evidence of a cavity or any other issues. All of this proves that Fairfax Modern Dentistry attempted to put my daughter through the expense, pain and inconvenience of a procedure for a second crown which was not needed. SCAM DENTISt! My daughter was told she needed multiple (5) root canals and crowns after having no issues the previous visit. They insisted on starting the work immediately (same visit) but something seemed off because they had just told my husband and myself we had issues with our teeth that we had never had before, so I told them we would get a second opinion. We did. She needed basic cavities filled- NOT ONE ROOT CANAL! Not only did my daughter not have to go through the pain of the false procedures they were recommending her to have, but we weren't conned out of an additional $11,000 they had quoted us!! I've been going for several years. Have had crowns and cleanings and extractions and cosmetics done. Dr. Fizza Moosavi and staff are always caring and concerned and willing to work around my fears and issues. They have never oversold me or given me any bill that I didn't know about ahead of time. They even offer payment plans. This team is knowledgeable and professional and provide excellent care and service. They always explain everything about any procedure. Often, they can give several options. Clean office with advanced tech that is lower radiation. Front desk staff handles appointments like pros and will do what they can to accommodate. Lots of times to select from. Good value compared to other Dentists I've used in the area. Convenient location. read more

Called in and made an appointment for my daughter to get her wisdom teeth removed. Let them know the insurance. They said it would be in network. Told me the copayment, which I paid at check in. They used an outside oral surgeon for the procedure, then claimed I owed another $600 on top of the $500 I already paid because suddenly the procedure was out of network, despite telling me it was in network. Tried calling multiple times and would never get call backs from office billing. Would definitely never use or recommend this practice. read more

I was scheduled for my first visit at 3 pm on Friday. I arrived on time. I completed my health history and then was told "we will be ready in about five minutes". (It's 309 pm at this point) They have no chairs in the waiting room. I'm standing waiting. No one follows up. 20 minutes have gone by. No updates. Finally one of the desk clerks asks me "did they take your chart to the back?" Hmm. How would I know. No one has updated me from the first "give us 5 minutes". She says "give me a minute" and disappears into the back. Someone else comes out and asks "are you being helped". I respond " I don't know at this point, but I had a 3 pm appointment and now I'm 2 minutes from walking out" (it's now 328 pm and no one has acknowledged, or updated me other than the original "we're getting your room ready, give us 5 minutes". No one comes back. At 334 pm I walked out. My time is valuable. No one called me to discuss. No one followed up. Complete lack of respect for patients. I have no issue with a 15 minute wait. What I do take umbrage with is that no one acknowledged me, updated me as to the wait, etc. Also standing around for 30 plus minutes after working all day is uncomfortable. (There was enough room to put 2 or 3 chairs and still maintain social distancing). I am a nurse executive and expect my patients to be treated better. I will never step foot back in this practice. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I've been there 5 times. 1st time they convinced me to replace my good filings because they were silver. Long story short... They hit a nerve and I went 4 more times for them to do something about it. They did nothing but tell me each time something different. Meanwhile, the pain is getting worse. The final time time I went. They told me I have to see a contracted specialist because nobody there has enough experience to know what to do. The contracted speciation charges 100 dollars if you miss your appointment. The only thing he can do is decide what needs to be done. They wanted to make the appointment for weeks later. Came here about a year ago for a cleaning with Dr. Chase. They claimed I had issues so I saw the hygienist. My follow up was to see the periodontist (after having a procedure done). We scheduled that and I arrived on time. The front desk was extremely helpful and polite as always. I was sitting in the room for 30 minutes before Dr. Ganesh came back to see me. I was cleaning up to leave because I have a life and felt as if I was forgotten about. When I brought my concern to Dr. Ganesh she was extremely unprofessional and has horrible bedside manners. I canceled my surgery. It's a shame too because the women at the front desk and Marcia were polite. Called recently to see if Dr. Ganesh was still there because if she was not I would schedule with them. read more

The team at this dental office was all very friendly. They were able to answer all questions I presented them with clarity. They seem to accept most dental plans and be cost-effective for those without coverage. They were certain to make sure that I was clear on any potential costs throughout the visit which I was lucky that my plan had no out-of-pocket costs. Dr. Chase worked efficiently and seemed knowledgeable. The office was clean and seemed to have the latest equipment. I was at this dental office for cleaning and exam and it took 2.5 to 3 hours. I was also told that Dr Chase won't clean my teeth anymore because I didn't get his recommended deep cleaning that costs $1,050, but with their in house insurance plan it'll be only $650. I'm glad he cares about my periodontal issues, but being pressured to get a deep cleaning is kind of weird, and I'm not a fan of coercion. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would. I deal with heavy anxiety with dentistry and it had been 13 years since I had been seen last. I went in yesterday, after finally getting the courage, to at least get an idea of what was going to be needed to be done. They not only saw me and told me what was needed, but were able to do the deep cleaning I had put off for years, in mere hours, on the same day. The work was outstanding to the point I started tearing up. Literally I everyone I had the pleasure of talking to was extremely nice and patient from reception, to imaging, the dentist herself, and the tech that did the cleaning. (If anyone deserves a raise she does for having to baby me through the whole procedure) I can not recommend these folks enough. read more

Let me preface this by stating that I have NEVER taken the time out of my life to write a poor review on any company. But..., first time for everything! This has got to be one of the most unorganized and unprofessional doctor's offices that I have seen. I visited a month ago for an exam, x-rays and a cleaning. The only thing that was negative about this visit is that they charged me $396 and I should have only paid $122.40. Not sure how they got this so completely wrong. Anyway, if that wasn't enough, they ended up refunding me the amount that the Insurance provider paid, instead of the difference of what I paid and what I was responsible for paying....... Fast-forward to today. I went to see the periodontist for a follow-up appt. Upon arriving, I did the normal check-in and waited to be called. The nurse (or whatever the dental term is), came and asked routine questions, that were already on the screen, like are you allergic to anything. Anyway, she checked my blood pressure with one of the wrist things. There was an error message. She checked again, and another error message. The third time, she asked me to switch wrists, so I removed my bracelets to let her check. My blood pressure reading was high 150/105, yes. I know! Really high! She waited and came back had me raise my wrist up to my chest. Again, the reading was very high, but went down to about 145/100 or something. She asked me if my blood pressure ran high, and I stated, yes. Never mind that I'm on blood pressure medication is listed on the screen, along with my ADHD medication which causes the blood pressure to elevate. I sat there for about 15-20 minutes waiting to be seen by the periodontist and the woman came back and said, "Because your blood pressure is high, the doctor can't do anything for you." Huh? Yes, you'll have to re-schedule your appointment. I told her that I would never return. Here's the thing. What doctor doesn't even come into the room and greet you? It's not like common courtesy is going to cause him to have high blood pressure..., it's not contagious!! This behavior was extremely irresponsible. read more

I came in for my appointment and the doctor refused to see me because I'm pregnant. He said if my OB approves me for a cleaning and not x-rays he will not do my cleaning. I understand that it's protocol for him. But this is my third child on the way, I have had cleanings before without having to do x-rays due to being pregnant. I found this very disappointing. I even went as far as calling my previous dentist and confirming I did not need an approval from my OB, they said just avoid X-rays. So I will be going back to them. I initially came here because it's really close to where I live. But if my business is not welcome then so be it. By the way the only reason they have good reviews is because they give you a free gift for a good review on your first visit. read more

Brand new office that is really nice and clean. The full mouth X-ray machine was very high tech and fast. They also use high definition miniature cameras to get really good imaging of your teeth. Dr. Chase is very approachable and was very fast yet thorough with the initial exam. Marcia, the hygienist, was also thorough and fast. My teeth felt super clean and I barely felt anything during the cleaning. Also got a bag of goodies when I left. No candy tho ;P read more

Would not return any calls, no follow up, and Refused to perform service to military personnel without proper justification of the reason. I have not been seen and no xrays were done. They just did not want to perform services with me for no reason. When i asked why, all of a sudden, she says that the doctor refused to see me - total opposite of what she has said before. I was not happy with the service I got at this practice. I was talked into replacing a filling with a crown even though my tooth was not hurting me. It resulting in me having to get a root canal because I was having pain. I believe the filling was very deep and old so it shouldn't have been removed. They of course blamed my nerve endings as the problem, not the skill and inexperience of the dentist. I am still not able to chew anything crunchy on this side of my mouth. I fear I will inevitably have to get an implant. read more

I had Osseous surgery with Dr. Ganesh in July because I had pockets of up to 7mm in some teeth. As of today, 10/9/19, I didn't have any pockets deeper than 4mm and most were 2 and 3. That's not been the case for many years. Brian was thrilled with the recovery of my gum tissue, saying it was "textbook." I can take some credit as I've been consistently using a water pic 2x/day and cleaning between my teeth throughout the day after meals, but the surgery was so worth it and Dr. Ganesh did a fantastic job. I didn't even need any pain relievers afterward. I've also had 2 crowns done and they fit perfectly. Fairfax Modern Dentistry has given my smile back! Thank you!!! read more

I have been to this practice maybe twice now and each time I see a different dentist. I went back because the first few times, the service was pretty good. I saw the lady dentist who told me I needed to come back for a filling and when I did go back for the filling, I saw the male dentist. He was professional but had a bit of an arrogance and I thought maybe he was just having a bad day. He examined my filling and decided I needed 2 crowns instead... including one on the adjacent tooth because fillings wouldn't be the appropriate treatment. Considering this went from a $25 treatment to $800, I asked to think it over and when I called to see if I can get one crown at a time, I never got a call back from the male dentist or the office. I really liked this office and the staff are very friendly and it is close to my office. But evidently me trying to accommodate this new plan was not well received. I will not be going back. Received a root planing & scaling, cleaning, polishing, and fluoride treatment today. Local anesthetic was used and I didn't experience any discomfort or pain. The staff is friendly, helpful, informative, and professional. The facilities and equipment are modern and immaculate. Scheduled A cleaning , xrays, and for them to asses my dental needs . Waited 3 hours for xrays and 5 minutes of the dentist time. Did not receive a cleaning and sat in a patient chair watching TLC for over 2 hours as if that was supposed to keep me distracted. The way the Office Manager handled finances and went over estimates made me question if something more was going . I left after 3 hours with no work done. I then received a call this AM from sed office manager stating they would provide me % off and there "full attention" . Seems like a scam . Also had to call 3 times just to get X-rays properly emailed . 10/10 would NOT recommend. read more

My first visit with Dr. Brian Chase was comparatively outstanding. Changed primary dental provider to Fairfax Modern Dentistry hoping for better care and service, and they did not let me down. From the dental office managers (Rachel and Rachel) providing the intake service to Dr. Chase thoroughly going over my dental health, it was a great experience. Without going into details of why I left my previous dental provider(s), I will say this...not all medical and dental professionals live up to the high standards of health care as any reasonable person would expect. Based on my first visit with Dr. Chase and Fairfax Modern Dentistry, I believe I found a practice that will provide that high level of health care I expect. I recently moved from Arlington and needed to find a dentist closer to home. My dentist in Arlington was amazing and had such a clean and modern office so the bar was set pretty high. Fairfax Modern Dentistry is brand new and the office reflects it. Everything was very clean and updated. The staff was extremely friendly and answered all of my questions. New patient paperwork and check in was all paperless and on their iPad. Each chair has their own, large TV for entertainment. Dental assistant was very thorough with my x-rays and provided a nice tour of their new space. Dr. Chase was super gentle, and thorough with my cleaning. I had been having some sensitive gum issues and he provided a non-invasive course of treatment. Yay, still no cavities! :) Only recommendation would be that they have a "kids room" for little patients, as my kids enjoy all the fun toys at the pediatric dentist. read more

My only one visit to this dentist was very disappointing. They forgot about me waiting in the checkup room for one hour and twenty minutes i.e. 80 long frriking minutes. Nobody came to check on me or update me on what was going on. After the wait the dentist came to see me for only ten minutes. I informed him of the long wait...but I couldn't see his face since he had a mask on. That was a very disappointing experience and I can't ethically underestimate it and go back for a treatment as if nothing had happened.
