Our room was damp and musty. I can't believe it wasn't caught and corrected before our arrival.

At this property's price point, perfection should not be expected--the back door card reader didn't work, parking can be a nightmare with multiple trucks with trailers parked every kind of way but correctly in a marked spot, cleaning didn't consistently occur on the days I was told at check-in, and half the washers/dryers were out of service. The front desk person who checked me in forgot to have me fill out a form, so I was charged taxes that should have been removed. More importantly, if problems occur, how they are handled is essential. The most important one, the billing issue, was thoroughly worked through by the on-site team (despite my getting the runaround from Marriott corporate, which should not happen, especially for a Platinum/Lifetime Gold member). The care and concern the team exhibited has earned them five stars from this Yelper!

My rating is 3.5 stars. I am rounding up…read more I decided to stay in Eden Prairie again. The area is growing on me. I stayed at this Residence Inn for a week. I like Residence Inn because you get a kitchenette. I enjoy fixing myself meals while travelling. I checked in at around 6:30 pm on a Saturday night. There are two sets of doors. They don't have that handy button that automatically opens the door. It was a pain getting my rolling computer bag and my luggage through two sets of doors. The man at the front desk was great checking me in. He said that I could grab any drink from the fridge as a welcome gift. Nice! I got my room cards, a bottle of Diet Pepsi, and was done. There are two ways to get to the elevator. One way is from the reception area. The other is straight ahead after you go through both sets of front doors. To get to the elevator, you need to badge in with your room key at the nearest door. Across from the elevator is the laundry room. You need coins to use the washer and dryer. My room was on the fourth floor, which is the top floor. This hotel is surprisingly quiet. My room faced the main entrance. I thought that I was doomed, but I never slept with my earplugs on. It was nice. It is an older building, but it's comfortable. The shower worked fine, but it takes nearly an hour for the shower faucet to stop dripping. It's like an odd form of auditory torture for a brief period. The toilet is almost too close to the shower. It's such a compact bathroom, but everything works. The kitchenette is equally as compact. I loved the microwave, fridge, cutlery, and Corelle dishes. There is also an oven and range with burners, and a dishwasher. The liquid dishwasher soap was great. I was happy. I bought food from Trader Joe's a couple of times. I had a few dinners and breakfasts in my room. I had mini mochi that were safe in the freezer, as were my potstickers and mini chicken tacos. I had soy beverage and Diet Coke in the fridge that were nicely chilled. The queen-sized bed was great and comfortable. I slept well. There is a USB port on either side of the bed, so my phone charged quickly every night. The TV on the wall swivels. I could watch TV in bed or on the couch. I spent many evening watching TV on the latter and it was great. Reception was superb. The couch was comfy. There was a snack table that I used often. The lamp on the desk had a USB port, too. My ten-foot USB-C cable came in handy. The lamp stayed put and I could charge my phone while using it on the couch. Nice! Housekeeping happened every day, except for New Year's Day. I had a late night out on New Year's Eve and slept in. Housekeeping was limited that day, so I was happy not having my room cleaned. I liked that the garbage was emptied when housekeeping did happen. Towels were stocked and my bed was made. Vacuuming also happened, as I saw my popcorn mess on the carpet disappear. Parking felt limited. I never had a problem parking outside the main entrance. However, there are spots on the other side of both buildings. You just had to walk a bit more. There was a snowstorm one day. The snow removal services are impeccable here. The walkways and parking lot were immediately cleared of snow, which I appreciated. There is a Best Buy next door. I resisted going there, as it's deadly. I will need to check it out next time. You can also walk to Cub Foods and other stores, if you need to. It was comfortable staying here. If you aren't looking for a fancy place, but like to wake up refreshed and rested, stay here. (10)

Staff at this hotel we're extremely rude and seemed to lack professional training needed to complete their work. Unfortunately, several children were running through the halls, knocking on doors and standing outside their rooms chatting from 2am-4am one night. I called the front desk twice and went to the lobby once. Staff yelled at me each time I reported the noise. We were in MN for a funeral and brought our dog. Due to Canine Influenza Virus, we were not able to board him. We were told at check-in that the dog could not stay in our room unattended. Leaving our dog in the car made attending the funeral extremely difficult as we had to make several trips out to check on him and give him water. Had we known this rule before booking, we would have made other plans. No receipt at checkout, I asked for a receipt for the pet fee which the hotel charged me at check-in. Yusef told me I didn't understand how the hotel charges work and argued about my bank needing to give me a receipt instead of the hotel. I was able to contact Sonesta Select corporate today, they sent the wrong receipt. The pool/hot tub was broken, no ice on 1st floor, no coffee available after @9a (no free coffee at all).

Traveled to MN for a week-long work thing…read more Ok, so there are some minuses to this place, and I'll hit those first. It definitely feels like what it is: a high-end place that got hit pretty hard by covid. Housekeeping and dining were a bit lacking. Like many places now, they will only do housekeeping in your room if you request it(or every 4th day, if you don't). The breakfast buffet was $15, and I suppose it's completely subjective if it was worth that much. If your company is paying for it, sure. The food quality was pretty standard. They had made-to-order omelets, along with a potato, a meat, powdered eggs, make-your-own waffles, bagels/bread, oatmeal, pastry, fruit, and of course, coffee. A tiny complaint, I'd have loved some flavored creamers. We didn't eat dinner there, but it looked like it was scaled back too. I think only pizza, but I can't verify that. Shower water pressure in my room was the pits. I was also a little surprised that they allowed my coworker to call in and change my room assignment. Would have figured they'd not do that. I wasn't upset with the room change, but the fact they did it seems to be against customer confidentiality or something. Otherwise, it was great. Room was big and clean. Lobby and dining area were lovely(and clean). Staff were all nice. In fact, that brings me to the main reason for the 4 stars and not 3-Angela the bartender. She was a delight. And her drinks were top-notch. My team let her give us a few surprise rounds, and she nailed it each time. We saw her handle a very drunk patron with aplomb. We will probably stay here again!

The new refrigerator didn't work. The new mattress was pretty hard (like all Hilton brands) and there was hardly any lighting in the room. Overall, the renovation was a miss. Staff, however, were great.
