We stayed again this year. Mary Ann, the night auditor made our trip perfect right from the start. After driving though a crazy amount of fog, getting there later than expected, I arrived to a warm greeting and an upgrade Hotel is clean and well kept, gym had a full selection of weights and cardio machines. So close to the bourbon trail, especially Buffalo Trace. Breakfast is available each morning, alongside juices she coffee. Quiet, safe at night, convenient location. read more

Great location when you are visiting the area and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. They do have a covered parking area, but it's an additional cost to the room rate. Since the weather was iffy while we were there, we opted to park in the gated area. The breakfast buffet was the typical Marriott assortment, which is always a nice way to start the day. read more

Worst Fairfield Inn I have been to in a while. Hotel is pretty worn down. Walls must be made out of paper because I had hear everything the adjacent room was doing. The other guests kept me awake well into the night. My hallway smelled like weed a lot. I had to leave the fan on in the bathroom because it smelled like cigarette smoke otherwise. Stayed here for the second year for our annual Bourbon Run to Kentucky. Check in was a snap with Brandon and we were off to our room. Very clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were sooooo welcoming after our busy days touring beautiful Kentucky. Most of where we visited was in the Frankfort area so we were close to our activities. We spoke to Brandon and Matt quite often when we passed by the front desk and even asked for restaurant recommendations. The breakfast each morning was really good and everything was clean and well maintained. The hot tub was very relaxing along with the pool. We had them to ourselves in the afternoon. You try to check in but there are too many trailers taking up the parking lot. Hotel says nothing they can do. No worries. You get your key and try to enter from the back where you finally find a place to park. No go. Key doesn't work. You take all your stuff back to the main registration and let them know it doesn't work and some chick starts yelling she'll call the police if I complain. NEVER NEVER come here. I've been a platinum elite/titanium elite for years. I've never been treated like this. I'll never be back and I suggest you find another place. I always try to stay at a Marriott establishment when i travel as they are fairly consistent and overall in good shape. This one was no exception. The rooms were good and clean when we checked in. There was a pool and other items, but we were there in March to go on some tours at places in the areas and did not plan on spending any time in the hotel except at night. There was a planned water outage on the Friday that we were there and they made that aware on check in and the times that it would be out. We were gone all day and it was back on when we got back. One of the other reviews mentions that there was not a fridge in the room. There are ones in there now. dorm style but adequate for what we needed this weekend. My only negative comment was that on Friday morning- my wife saw the housekeeping person for our room in the hallway. She asked if we needed more towels and if we wanted the room cleaned. She said yes to both. The housekeeping person asked her 3 more times if she wanted the room cleaned and she said yes all 3 times. We realized that the water was off but you can still dump trash, make bed, vacuum, etc. Well when we got back to our room that night... nothing had been done. Trash was still there, bed unmade, etc.. It wasnt a huge deal, but I guess the staff thought they didnt have to clean the rooms with the water off? I have no idea. But it is a decent hotel, at least it was during my stay there. read more

So it was raining, pouring when we arrived to find the covered entry closed and the entire area wound with yellow caution tape. Unable to check-in and carry our bags into the lobby under cover, we parked and trudged through the rain and under the caution tape to enter. Inside, we were told by the desk clerk that they always tape it off when it rains do people don't "run across the entry and fall" because it gets slippery. Suggestion. Fix it. read more

Another one-night on-the-road stay and this time, we chose an established name in hostelry. Amenities here included (besides a comfortable room and a roomy and well-appointed bathroom) a pool and hot-tub (that the elevator seemed temperature-controlled for users of) and a beyond-continental breakfast that included scrambled eggs (from powder though) and hot biscuits with self-serve gravy, whole fruits, and the usual toast/bagels, fruit juices, and hot beverages. Although served buffet-style in a common breakfast room, plenty of café seating ensured that this was the popular gathering place for all guests in the morning. Our one problem was a pull knob on a bi-fold closet door in our room that was loose when we checked in. But that was easily repaired with a bit of wet tissue stuffed into the worn hole (like you would with wood putty). By that evening, the knob's screw held firmly in the newly packed hole. Later that night, another guest, a teen-aged girl. knocked on our room door. Peering out the peep hole at her, I called out what did she want. But she took off without saying anything. My guess: A lost traveller, who knew their room location, just forgot on which of the three floors. read more

Looks to be recently renovated. The location is easy to find, right off of 64 and perfect location for anyone doing work in Frankfort or Versailes. There is plenty of parking and is a very well lit lot. The main lobby is nice and clean and again seems to be recently renovated. They unfortunately do not have a market place where you can buy food and drinks but do have vending machines throughout the hotel. The room i stayed in was a king bed standard room. It was clean and smelled fresh. The hvac units do not appear to have been updated as the controls are still on the unit (newer hotels have thermostats on the walls near the main part of the room as to get a better reading on the overall room temperature) my unit didnt seem to put out heat properly but i like my rooms cold so it wasn't a problem for me. The rest of the room was nice. the TV picture was fuzzy (and definitely not HD) more than likely due to an old tv system that has not been upgraded yet. The staff was friendly and courteous. and the cleaning staff greeted me in the morning as i walked through the halls. The breakfast was the same as most hotels. dry cereal, scrambled eggs and a meat, make your own waffles, juices and coffee. Overall the hotel is nothing amazing but is consistent with the Marriott Fairfield brand and for $99 a night king size room it is a good stay if you ask me. One of those, in and out hotels that you won't have issues with but you aren't blown away by. And there dis nothing bad about that, we need those hotels because they are affordable when all your doing is sleeping there and hitting the road fast. I would come back if i was ever in town and needed a place to stay. read more

I had a very nice experience with this hotel. The staff were friendly and the accommodations were nice. The hotel is a good clean place to stay. The indoor pool and hot tub were all the entertainment our great nephews needed. They are little kids, and this was a nice treat for them. We all enjoyed this amenity. I would have liked the pool water to be a bit warmer, however they enjoyed going back and forth, getting in the warm then cooling off in the pool. Nice little weekend getaway. read more

I liked this hotel. It's not at all fancy. It's a plain and simple hotel--bed, TV (analog signal only), shower. But it's comfortable. And it's clean. And the people are hit-and miss variances of friendly. And they have big breakfasts. (The eggs are surely powdered gunk and the breads dry as bone, but at least the eggs are hot and there's lots of sausage, and toast, and fruit, and cereal, and juice, and coffee, and yogurt, and ...) Overall I felt like this place was the only place I could find relaxation and comfort during my visit to Kentucky, and I was satisfied. Mind you, the web site for this location indicates that a typical taxi drive to the Lexington airport should be on average about $35. It's either a lie, or it is really stale, perhaps a decade or two stale, because it cost me $80 (before tip) for a random curbside taxi pickup from the airport, and it cost $50 for a scheduled pickup from the hotel back to the airport. One thing I hate about this location is something the hotel can do nothing about unless it makes a stink with the city, is there is very little pedestrian support in the area. I came to work a mile away, and I was walking. VERY dangerous, as the road is busy and there were parts of the walk with no shoulder. read more

If you choose to stay at this hotel, pray to God it doesn't rain. 8pm Sunday... We notice a ceiling tile dripping and inform the front desk that there's a problem. They seem surprised and thank us for alerting them to the situation. 2am Monday morning... I walk out to buy a soda from the vending machine only to notice that the original tile and several adjacent tiles are visibly bowing under the weight of the water pooling in the ceiling. There is not even a bucket under the tiles to stop the drip. I stared up at the newly formed ceiling pimple in awe of the sheer volume of water necessary to bend the walls. 6:30am Monday morning... We wake up abruptly to hotel staff as knocking on doors telling us to pack our things and go to the lobby. We open the door into what can only be described as an affront to the senses; think the humbling perspective check of standing under Niagara falls combined with the doomsday pressure of nature reclaiming the land. We hurriedly pack our bags and evacuate to the lobby, where patrons casually sip coffee as water begins to literally leak from every fixture of the hotel lobby. Water pools onto the tile floor as it flows from chandeliers, fire sprinklers, and eventually through the very material of the ceiling. I can only imagine the mold that will develop in the coming months (then again, we overheard employees discussing that this also happened last month... It is clear that from the beginning of the previous evening, employees knew the full extent to which shit was about to hit the fan). Maids fruitlessly place buckets under the largest leaks, meanwhile functionally pushing water from place, unsure of where to begin. I don't blame them. Finally, we are informed, the water has been shut off. A mere 8 hours later. It is at this point when our group of 12 faces the grim reality of a 9 hour drive home with no showers, clean teeth, or even the dignity of watching our poop flush down the toilet. Frustrated, we ask the hotel manager if we can check out that morning without being charged for the weekend. Clearly, we thought, because they could not uphold their promise of a place to stay for the weekend, we should not have to pay for the inconvenience. "I'm sorry," we are told repeatedly. "The best we can do is not charge you for the last night." Eventually, the owner of the hotel pulls us outside, presumably because the lobby is now no longer capable of sustaining guests, and are told that he is "dealing with a lot right now" and "can't give us anything else." Patrons beware: it doesn't matter how long you booked your stay. Should disaster strike, you will be compensated with a curt apology and surprisingly good muffins as you are hurriedly ushered out the doors. (Edit: take a look at the video I uploaded. Let me start by stating that the staff, including the front desk and housekeeping were great. Saying this, I was disappointed in the lack of amenities that I have come to expect from a Marriott Fairfield Inn and Suites. Yes, this is primarily used by business travelers staying one or two nights, but how hard is it to have a small fridge and a microwave in the room or at the various least, made available upon demand? The pool was nice, the hot tub could have been a little hotter (than tepid bath water) and the room's bathtub should have non stick markers in the tub to prevent slipping. Otherwise, it a nice and convenient place to stop while in the Frankfort area. read more

The best thing about this place is the location. It was ideal for touring the area. We were upgraded to a handicap room. It did provide a bit more room. Having a handicap shower and not a tub really wasn't an issue. It was just somewhat strange to us. The room was comfortable, but the AC had a mind of its own. The room temperature did not seem to match the display on the AC. Breakfast consisted of an extended continental breakfast. This included waffles, hard-boiled eggs, microwavable bacon-egg-biscuits and the usual assortment of other breakfast items. Adequate! No complaints with this hotel. read more

Charged for a night I did not stay. Called on Monday at 3:47pm to push back my arrival night for my 2 rooms to arrive on Wednesday instead of Tuesday. Guess what the genius I spoke on the phone did. Only pushed back one room after assuring me both rooms' arrival dates were pushed back a day. So what do I run into after traveling 12+ hrs on the road. My card was charged for a room already. Wth?! And of course night audit can be of no assistance due to the lack of care by day staff. So now this holiday week & black Friday week I'm left with Fairfield Inn in Frankfort, KY trying to reimburse me. Yea. Wonder when that'll happen. Highly annoyed rewards member. Will be reporting this to corporate site. If I could rate this 0 stars I would due to idiotic negligence that now will influence the rest of my 4 night stay. read more

Very unsatisfied with this hotel. I would not stay here again and recommend for others to avoid it. First off, they have no ramps on the curb when you first come in which concerns me that they are not up to date. The whole second and third floor have a musty humid feeling that makes you feel like you're staying in a pool room all night and is very bad for people with allergies. The staff seemed nice at first but then were not accommodating at all and the lady in charge of the breakfast was very rude. They closed the breakfast early and barely anything was changed the whole time. I usually get much better impressions from the Fairfield's. Look elsewhere! read more
