Overly dated hotel and many other nicer ones are within walking distance. Staff were friendly and check in was quick. The room seemed cleaned, but needs to be updated. The air conditioner ran constantly and the room has an odd divider that caused the air to get "stuck" in the bedroom portion of the room, so the bed would be freezing and the couch area was warm. The couch was not the same as the listing photos. Shower has a weird/odd half door so super easy to get the floor soaking wet after a shower if you're not careful. Ok, so this place definitely was not what I expected. I expected more. The rooms were basic and did not have many of the standard amenities. For starters Terr was no phone to call the front desk, we had to go down each day to get fresh towels and the bathroom didn't have the standard magnifying mirror for skincare and makeup application. The rooms were not as clean as they should've been either. BUT the front desk staff and the staff in the breakfast service area were amazing! They were the highlight of our stay! I'll definitely try another hotel the next time I'm in the area. There are quite a few near by and the location is perfect considering the restaurants and shopping nearby. read more

I have been a fan of Hyatt Places for years but recently I have noticed that they a lot of the older HP locations are cutting cost on everything including housekeeping and that is not acceptable. As you can see from the attached photos the bathroom in our room was discussing. You could knit a sweater from the amount of dust stuck to the bathroom fan cover. The person at the front desk was not too happy about helping us and short with answers. The breakfast buffet had few questionable items like the yogurt that sat out too long and the whey protein (cloudy water on top of yogurt) has separated from the yogurt. Luckily, there are few breakfast sports in the area and we ended up skipping the complementary breakfast. Overall, I am satisfied with my stay here, and I would come back, though mainly because I prefer stay within Hyatt's brands. The hotel was not difficult to find, and the receptionist at the front desk was kind and check me in efficiently. My room was clean, spacious, and looked nice/was at least somewhat recently updated. However, the heater (which is right next to the bed) is very loud, and came on frequently at night, to maintain the room temperature; occasionally it would wake me up. Breakfast was lukewarm, and it took a while to get a new batch of coffee out. Overall, the room and staff were nice, with some notable inconveniences (the loud heater being the biggest one). I'm not sure if I would book this room again for an extended stay, but for one night while on the road, it does the job well. read more

This was our first and last time staying at a Hyatt. When we made our reservations online we had requested a crib in our room for our infant. When we arrived there was no crib in our room, we called the front desk and were told that they only have three cribs that have already been claimed. We asked why they didn't tell us this before we checked in or at check in and she basically told us that they were understaffed. Luckily we had a pullout couch for our two older children and made the room work but the mini fridge in the room hardly worked, there were no open outlets next to the beds, no microwave to heat up water for tea and the coffee maker made the tea taste like stale coffee and the bathtub stopper was broken. Clean comfortable big rooms and the mattresses are comfortable. The front desk person was very nice, friendly, helpful, and efficient! We would stop here again-BUT -there are a couple of things that we were not happy with : 1. The rooms have too few electric outlets -they do try to make accommodations by adding Extensions but this would probably be a hard thing to change. Senior travelers have to charge their watches, Cell phones, ear pods, and hearing aids. Hunting for ways to plug in 8 things (for a couple) can be a chore if there are only two available electric outlets 2. The second thing not the best would be much easier for management to change and make travelers' stay nicer. The free breakfast time is very short and ends way too soon for leisure travelers . Even with these two things, we would stay here again. It would be nice if the hotel considered these things in the future. read more

All the toppings for biscuits were out but the only food they had to offer was cereal, French toast, hasbrowns, sausage, eggs, and a bagel. Stayed here for a sort of business/ staycation and it is a really legit place. Of course, to pay for it, pretty expensive at $150+ per night. The room is comparative to a Courtyard Marriott I stayed at in Owensboro, KY. King bed room I reserved, but a suite. The only problems I had found was the accessibility of the bed from both sides, the left (nearest to the door) and near the window, one can barely squeeze in by the wall and then around and then jump on the bed that way. They compromise on the walk space of the bed because everything else takes up room. This was in room 304 I think. Also, I can agree with the comment stating that are little to no outlets in the room. I had to use two of the black colored outlets near the t.v. to connect my phone charger and laptop. The shower looks nice, BUT some of the glass door is attached and so when one enters, one has to foot the cold water before it becomes warm. I HATE THIS SETUP! I see the idea though. Keep a space that one can walk into and out of the shower all the way to the end, BUT put the shower a little further back so the folding extension keeps the splash in. The breakfast had hot foods like waffles and then the eggs (which were very light, almost dissolve in the mouth). They also had sausages. I loved how they use corral (sp?) cups and glasses in the rooms instead of paper styrofoam cups. I had a unique issue where I booked multiple nights separately and asked them to check me out in the morning and I had to check back in again, today. I thought they would have taken my belongings and put them somewhere, but they did not even touch them. Phew! 4/19 They will swap out some of the hot foods at breakfast. Hashbrowns and bacon for the sausages and waffles. 4/20 All concerns were addressed today. The two queen bed room has more outlets (well, they made there be more outlets through an attachment. The beds had enough space to be accessed from both sides. The tub shower is an option with this room. This was in room 505 I think. I had to switch because of my multiple bookings. I checked into another room today evening, room 525, and this room addressed my concern in making a king bed accessible from both sides. I am not sure if they were so booked up that they ended up giving me a wheelchair accessible room, but hey...maybe all king bed rooms should follow this standard! Breakfast had french toast sticks swapped for the hashbrowns. 4/21 The only problem I found with the wheelchair accessible room I was given was that the water only gets to lukewarm. I was shivering every time I got out. Breakfast had bacon and seasoned potato slices swapped for the sausages and French toast sticks from the day before. All in all, I thought the HYATT experience was consistent. They seem to give a look of an upscale hotel chain, but they also follow through (offer a breakfast that includes both hot and cold options....FINALLY a place that gives milk with cereal!). The only amenity I did not see across all three rooms I stayed in was a lack of a microwave. read more

Very nice hotel. We are in town for one night. The hotel was very clean, and the breakfast included. The bedroom has a nice bed-couch, one bathroom, a closet, and a coffee machine. Service for the check-in was fast and attentive. They also sent a text message to check how the room was. It is well located around many restaurants and a wallmart ten minutes drive away, and near the shopping mall area. Overall I liked it very much. read more

Robert, Victor & crew were all fantastic. Service was great & they offered us a packet of restaurants in the area. Excellent location, right off of the highway, 20 minutes from the racetrack, next to Wild Eggs, Malone's, Harry's, Aqua Sushi, The Liquor Barn, gas stations, Costco & WalMart to name a few! Our room door knob was broken & wouldn't allow us to enter. We waited in the hallway & took about 20 minutes to finally get into another room because someone had to cover the front desk. The next two rooms they let me check-out first, which was very nice of Robert & Victor. One was by the elevator, the other was on the highway side, both noisy. I chose the one facing the front of the building looking at the new Holiday Inn construction work in front, which surprisingly was not noisy. After running downstairs twice, Robert brought our hotel keys up to us. Excellent way to resolve the whole situation which was not their fault. The staff gets five shining stars. Awesome. However, we arrived to a room that was like the one we stayed at & moved from in Indianapolis. The architect or designer messed up all of these hotel layouts. From the bathroom being inside of the bedroom, to the closet, half hidden behind the sink. I will never stay at a Hyatt Place again since I see now they were all designed by the same 'person,' who must not have ever stayed in a hotel. read more

In short - Bathroom was dirty, you could have made the worlds largest dust bunny with the amount of dust that was on that ceiling vent. Bed was uncomfortable. Front desk was cranky, I felt more like an inconvenience then a guest. But that said, check in was fast, so that was good. Breakfast was a hard no. Overall, a very nice hotel with a super convenient location. My husband and I stayed here on a recent trip down south. We were looking for somewhere mid point between Michigan and Georgia and this seemed perfect. I booked through a third party site and went by the reviews and photos provided online. Once we checked in, I wasn't disappointed. The room, lobby, etc looked pretty similar to what I had seen on the travel website. We were able to check in quickly, without any delay or hassle. The room was large, with a separate sitting area and a bar area. It was very comfortable and quite well-appointed. The view was of the parking lot, but who really is concerned with something that trivial? It's not an oceanfront villa in Europe, so that doesn't matter. The price was pretty decent, a little over a $100 plus taxes. For the size of the room and location, it was very affordable. The bed was comfortable, with new bedding, and the furniture was recently upgraded. The bathroom lighting was (surprise) pretty decent and I wasn't relegated to doing makeup in the car yet again to grab the natural light! The towels were fluffy and new and they even had comfy robes in our room for us. They served breakfast, but it wasn't included like a traditional continental breakfast. We passed on that and dined on leftovers from the day before instead of getting breakfast here. I think it was about $9 per person, affordable, but it wasn't necessary in the sense that we had leftovers we had to eat, anyway, or wind up tossing in the trash. The pool was unfortunately closed one night due to a maintenance problem, but it was open in the morning. It was kind of a bummer, but the maintenance issue was an emergency that particular night, so we couldn't take a dip for a few hours or so. There was a bar downstairs in the lobby. The concierge that night was playing bartender and was happily creating some of the strongest drinks for us that we've ever had, seriously. I swear, they were triples. We had Old Fashioneds and Whisky Sours (premium liquor, but of course). They were reasonably-priced considering the bartender seemed to be so generous with his pour. It actually was a nice side benefit being able to get a couple of cocktails in the hotel and not have to drive at the same time, so we didn't really care how much we imbibed since there was no driving involved! After being on the road for several hours earlier that morning, it was nice to unwind at the hotel, with a drink or two (or three) and relax for the evening. The location is convenient and centrally-located to dining, shopping, etc, and more importantly, it was located near The Liquor Barn, which is the most amazing store I've ever been in (more on that later). Seriously, a location in very close proximity to The Liquor Barn really is the only thing you need to know. Next time we take a road trip south, we will definitely be making another stop here for the night or weekend. After all, the Liquor Barn is around the corner.... read more

I'm disappointed with this hotel. The bathroom shower had mold, which was unpleasant. When I came back the first day, they didn't pick up the dirty towels, or empty trash, or leave fresh coffee packets. I had to get coffee packets from the front counter, and then I had to go back to get sweetener. I was told to leave the dirty towels out in front in the hall, which I told them I would not do as that would be a disgusting sight in the hallway. Let alone contaminating the hallway. The front desk told me the maid only comes in every 3 days because of covid. That made no sense to me. Aren't more germs spread by putting dirty towels in the hallway and leaving trash in the room fir 3 days to rot? Sounds like an excuse to keep a skeleton crew of maids. I asked for the manager's phone number. They gave me a card with his number. I called the number and put in the extension, but it was the number to the front desk. What a waste of money to print the general managers name on a business card, only to put the front desk phone number, making it impossible to reach him. Update: Manager apologized profusely, changed my room, checked in on me and bought me lunch. As others have said, management of the hotel really do want to make your stay pleasant. Decent budget hotel with a few teething problems. Upon check-in front desk bragged about the "new bedding" but omitted that the room had no curtains. Wouldn't be a problem if floodlights from the motorcycle garage outside didn't shine directly onto the bed, or the Outback Steakhouse illuminate sign didn't peer ominously over their shoulder. Luckily the room came with a couch, from which I was able to remove all of the seat cushions and fashion a makeshift blind with a towel. #Hyattmagyver Frontdesk sent maintenance this morning hoping to find new curtains that are "on order." read more

Pros: clean pet friendly rooms. Convenient location close to I-75 Ice cold AC Cons: I don't understand who designed the bathroom, the shower to more specific. The room is tiny so a simple shower turns into a steam shower real quick, the non-existing shower door obviously aloud water to escape the shower which meant I was washing the floor while trying to dry off. Getting fully dressed in the the bathroom was a whole separate challenge because the tiny room was still filled with steam my clothes refused to cooperate and clung to my still wet skin. It was a real s*~t show. Other than that it's a nice place lol. read more

FIVE!!! FIVE STARS! By far the cleanest Hyatt place we have stayed! Staff was very friendly, we needed an extra blanket and we got it with in minutes. Pool was great, very clean! I seriously could've eaten off of their lobby floor. Breakfast was good not great! Lol But what hotels breakfast is awesome! Why 4 stars? Because it was very nice, but just not super convenient. --- --- --- When I think Lexington, I think about a city where nothing is far away. It's very true when comparing to most cities that I travel to, but the only issue with Hyatt Place was that it was about as far out from the airport, and the center of the city as possible. In terms of the hotel itself, I have absolutely no complaints. The people were the friendly and the room was delightful. It pains me to give only 3 stars to the Hyatt. They have an exceptionally courteous staff. Each staff member I encountered was pleasant and naturally nice. Hospitality was clearly their field of study. Why I'm giving 3 stars is directly related to the hotel itself and no reflection of the staff. The lobby is clean and everything is laid out in a very clear way. You cannot get lost. The rooms are ok: they are clean with a caveat, the carpeting. The carpet in the room I stayed was a clear distraction for me. There were visible spots in various locations. I know that some spotting is to be expected, I felt this was more than what it should have been. The beds were clean and fresh, again the carpet was a major distraction for me. Noise: I could hear everything, I cannot stress enough, everything happening in the room next door. I prefer to know less, much less when staying in a hotel. This too, was a major distraction for me. Game days are popular in my family, I don't think a future stay at the HyattPlace will be moving forward. read more

We have always been fans of Hyatt Place. The location of this hotel is perfect for anyone traveling on 75, as it is about 3 minutes off the highway. There are plenty of restaurant, shopping and gas station options. Our room was large and very clean. We had a room with a king bed and a pull out couch. It is nice how it has a divider between the couch and the bed as it makes it feel like two separate rooms - which worked perfectly for us as our nephew begged to have a sleepover party with us. I would love to give this hotel 5 stars, but Covid has really messed up some things. The night we checked in I called down to the desk at 10:45 and asked for two pillows to be brought up to our room as we did not have extras in the closet. We waited an hour and a half before my nephew passed out watching TV using the couch pillow. The pillows never arrived. The next morning, we went down to breakfast. We usually love the breakfast at Hyatt Place. However, due to Covid everything has to be single serving. They had no option for vegetarians except for instant oatmeal. It would be nice to have a fruit cup or at least plain pancakes instead of pancakes rolled with sausage. So, we just grabbed coffee and left to find breakfast elsewhere. Upon going to leave, I stopped at the desk and asked they to leave us extra pillows and some extra towels as we would need them for that night and explained that I never got the pillows the night before. This was at 8am. We returned to the hotel around 9 that night to no pillows or towels. So, my fiancé called down again and told the girl that this is the third request for pillows. She said if we wanted to go down to the desk, she could give us some but she was the only person working and housekeeping only comes in once a week on Thursday. You would think from a safety standpoint, they would have more than one person working in this large hotel. I just wish the person the first night had mentioned that instead of not saying anything so we could have at least gone down to get the items we needed. I would stay here again. Going to be here all week for work so I am writing on a day by day status. Checkin was smooth. The clerk was efficient and professional. The room is very nice. Good bedding, nice TV, although not very many channels to choose from. There is a desk, small fridge and coffee maker, and a sofa/living area separated by a half wall that gives the room some separate space to sleep work and or relax on the couch. The hotel is located right off the interstate and there are ample restaurants groceries and shopping within a mile radius. Excellent location for accessibility. Breakfast is included if you are a Hyatt member. Since my meeting g is at the hotel breakfast lunch and am and PM snacks are served daily. Food has been really good. We have been served breakfast meat eggs and potatoes every day. Along with oatmeal fruit and bread. Snacks have been dried fruit granola bars fresh fruit chips and dip rice crispies treats pretzel bites and cheese dip candy bars. Staff are friendly. plenty of parking. Only complaints. The shower set up is a poor design. No matter how you position the glass shower doors they leak badly on the floor and garbage cans dont have a bag or liner in them which seems unsanitary. I stayed here on a work trip, so the location being right off the highway was fantastic! It was easy to find, parking was no problem, and it was near a TON of restaurants (and Target)! The staff was friendly and took great care of everyone - the manager was even clearing plates during breakfast! Talk about a well-oiled machine. The breakfast was your standard complimentary hotel breakfast (the breads were more fresh than usual, and they offered my low-sugar yogurt, but the fruit medley sucked big time). However, if you wanted to order a full breakfast (it'll cost ya), there was the option to get just that - I'm talking omelets, pancakes, etc! They also offered Starbucks lattes, and other sweet treats for purchase. The beds were pretty comfortable, the shower was incredible (amazing water pressure, stayed super hot just how I like it!), and they supplied this ginger scented soap, shampoo and conditioner that I loved. They also have a small but sufficient work-out facility and a pretty awesome indoor pool. All in all - the facilities were excellent, as was the staff. My only complaint was the HUGE smear of something or other on the giant mirror across from the sink in my room. Sorry, but that was just disgusting. I'm hoping (and pretending) it's cleaning product, since I'd rather not think about it at all. read more

I was really pleasantly surprised with how nice this hotel was! When I walked in to the room, I was blown away by how huge it was... roughly the same size as the studio apartment i had a few years ago! There is a mini living room set-up with a swivel TV... and a privacy screen between the living area and the bed area. We were placed in a room that did not face the highway, and I'm very thankful for that. The front desk guy asked if we had a preference, and all I asked for was "quiet," and we got it. There are a few different restaurants & a Graeter's Ice Cream joint within walking distance... if you are like us and did not want to get back in the car to find food, you can easily walk a block or two and find something for dinner. We ended up at Malone's, and it was delicious, with a stop by Graeter's on the way back! The only weird small negatives I noticed were that there is definitely something up with the water pressure, it was pretty low, but the shower is a rainfall head so maybe that is part of it. Overall, it was really quiet, I didn't hear doors slamming, etc., but you could hear a neighbors (upstairs maybe?) toilet flush when they used it. Also, while I love a standing shower stall, nothing makes me crazier than when there is no shelf/ledge for women to put their feet up to shave. I feel like this is always a tell-tale sign that a dude designed the space! These are nit-picky things however, so I can't fault them too much. The hotel itself is off the main road so you'll have a quiet sleep. Nearby, you'll find an assortment of chain restaurants, a Target, a Meijer, numerous gas stations, and a liquor store. I didn't see any unique local eateries nearby or any attractions, but it seems this area is more for the stop-and-go traveler rather than the destination driven. Do not stay at this hotel. I have stayed at many Hyatt Place hotels and have always appreciated the price, room lay out and cleanliness of the rooms. The management of this hotel, specifically Brandon, the hotel manager and Theresa, the assistant manager is horrible. For that reason, I will never stay at this Hyatt Place again. I purchased a three night prepaid reservation through Hotels.com for my family's driving vacation. Unfortunately, I accidentally reserved the wrong week. I called Hotels.com and requested moving the reservation to the correct day. Theresa was on duty and said she would allow them to move the reservation to the correct night but Hotels.com did not have any allocation left for that night. So I was out of luck. I called the hotel directly and talked to Theresa. She said she was happy to rent me a room for $119 per night but was not going to cancel the Hotels.com booking. Her answer was for me to pay for the reservation TWICE! Stuck without a hotel room, I called Hotels.com again and asked them to find the closest Hyatt Place hotel to Lexington. Since Theresa was allowing a transfer, I hoped she would allow a transfer to another Hyatt Place which had availability, nope the Ice Princess was dead set, I was going to eat my mistake. I booked the Florence, KY Hyatt Place through Hotels.com and asked to speak to Brandon, the Lexington hotel manager in the morning. I spoke to Brandon today. He confirmed he and Theresa had the ability to waive the cancellation penalty for Hotels.com but chose to make me pay for rooms I could not use. They had rooms available for the three nights. They could have sold them to me for $119 per night. I paid $84 per night through Hotels.com. They would have made more money and a hotel guest for life instead they stuck to hotel management philosophy for the 1970's and drove me back to Marriott. Big disappointment. Arrived at 9 pm and the room was not ready!!! WHAT??? The lobby and entrance had all sorts of pieces of trash everywhere like they had not swept or vacuumed in several days. The furniture showed wear and spots. The lights at the bed would not work and not enough plugins for c-pap and phones. The toilet would not flush and the sink water drained very slowly! This is the first 30 minutes of being here!!! Let's see how we sleep....stay tuned Well it gets better. The staff came to room poured a very strong smelling chemical down the drain which we cannot sleep in this room with this smell and on top of that we were told we would have to unplug the toilet ourselves that was already plugged up when we arrived. The hotel is easy to find, close to other hotels and close to a few restaurants. The area seems to be quite a new development. The front desk customer service was just okay, nothing stellar. They were very casual and you could see staff just chatting with each other and not really paying much attention to guests. The pros: the free breakfast buffet is convenient, the room itself was comfortable with a separate seating area, the flat screen tv is nicely sized for a hotel room, the room was quiet and parking was free. The negatives was there was no bathtub, only a standing shower and the bathroom itself was tiny. They don't offer complimentary toiletries like other hotels do such has shower caps, cotton swabs, etc, you'll only find the basics like soap. Part of the reason I choose to stay at a hotel rather than a cheaper motel is for a nicely appointed bathroom. You won't find that here. This hotel also doesn't offer room service but did have a decent fitness room. We have stayed at this hotel four times over the past two years and it never disappoints. The rooms are always very clean and beds are really comfortable. Bathrooms are always clean! The decor & furnishings are modern and they have great tvs! We have young children and the rooms are perfect to accommodate them by having high countertops out of their reach, sturdy sofas, & THE best thing: wall mounted thermostats!! (Parents will understand the importance of this feature!) The indoor pool is awesome and the breakfast is always great! They serve hot breakfast sandwiches along with the usual cereal, fruit, juices. We are local and stay here when we have home repairs that require us to be away from home a day or two, but it's always a pleasant experience! read more
