We have the confirmation email from when we booked directly with the Motel on the phone, immediately got the confirmation email checking in Sept 3rd and checking out Sept 4th. We were traveling with our two large dogs, why we booked so far in advance as it's hard to travel with pets and we always plan ahead. We called at 2pm on the day of check in since we had not received our room door code. They said they didn't have our reservation until the next night even while I looked at and sent them our confirmation email for our room that night. We ended up on the road for 16 hours that day, with two dogs and myself being 7.5 months pregnant, to get back home because they MESSED UP. They offered to have a room at a different motel held for us for the night at the same price $230/night, the other place in question had two reviews since 2020 both with 1 star for mold and smell. Not acceptable, especially being pregnant I did not at all feel comfortable with that "solution". Either their system messed up or they had an employee change our reservation after booking, in either case we should not have been left without a room when we booked a full 30 days in advance and had a correct confirmation email from the motel (not through a third party booking site). Managed to ruin our short baby moon in Helen GA, maybe someday we'll actually get to visit.

Just complete the check-in paperwork online ahead of time as requested, give them your mobile number, and you'll be able to access your room and the historic building itself on your own with the codes they will text you. And with free parking, from the hotel you'll be able to walk everywhere in this beautiful, historic, university town in about 10 minutes or less - taking full advantage of its restaurants, shops, and gold museum. But oh, that paperwork!... It was really off-putting, with all these warnings about rules and penalties for breaking them (including fines and eviction for repeated noise complaints - although that's actually just fine with me). As the staff pointed out, though, everything prohibited has actually happened in the hotel. It turns out that Dahlonega is really two kinds of town - the sleepy town that I fell in love with, but sometime a party town! So if you're looking for the former, I recommend missing the mid-October Gold Rush festival, the Christmas festival, and (if you can find out) any destination-wedding dates.

My husband had scheduled a massage as a gift for that afternoon. This was probably the worst experience I have had. The therapist was poor in her execution, style and even manner. Before my treatment even started she mentioned an up charge for deep tissue. During my treatment she burped two times and her massage was far from relaxing her massage etiquette as a therapist was poor and as it was my birthday it sort of ruined my whole experience there, which was a shame. I did reach out to the B&B and provided my feedback, was told the spa manager (Tanya) would reach out but she never did. Heard back from the B&B manager and she told me the owner would give me a $50 dollar credit to my treatment the next time! We live almost two hours away so will not be planning on using that any time soon. To be honest after that experience I would not go back to the spa. The b&b was lovely the massage experience not so.

Both rooms experienced noisy guests outside door in middle of the night, however, this was the 4th of July. The door had a huge gap at the bottom. Front desk employee was not friendly. The so called "breakfast", is behind the front desk, you have to tell the employee what you want, be it a bagel, muffin, pancake, cereal, etc. Coffee was watery. We did not like this and left. We did not see any bugs, so that was a relief. We will not return to this hotel.

They lost their lake several years ago, and that's hurt them considerably. Much of what was former trails and slides and docks is now closed. Therefore, if you have a youth group, there's not a lot of entertaining things to do: one sizeable open field, an old basketball court, a playground and a few tennis courts. No pool or other water facilities. Their auditorium and large facilities are not so hot. The soundboard is glitchy, as were their projectors. Our group had major issues with keycards working and with water pressure. If you're looking for a place to house a bunch of adults and do a retreat or meeting, it's okay. Otherwise, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. It's clearly past its heyday. I hope it recovers, but I'm not sure it can or will without major work.

You can hike the area of hang out in the huge main building with multiple couches. The actual hotel rooms were old but it does the trick. You have to bring your own shampoo but soap and towels are there as well as iron and board and hangers. There is a communal fridge in the first floor kitchen along with a toaster, coffee machine, toaster oven, and with can opener. Just bring bug spray bc the mosquitos are extra ambitious here. It's about 2 hours from downtown Atlanta so it's not too far. Overall I would recommend this place.
