- External security door would not stay latched - No outlet cover for the AC - Molding has pulled away from the wall by the window - looks like water damage and there is MOLD - remote control held together with electrical tape - Room was not cleaned well as there are items left by previous guest (lighter and lotion) - BIG (more than a foot) burn/skid mark on the bed cover - Cheap metal bed base squeaks and pops - Big gaps around the door left, right, and bottom - Part of light fixture is loose - Flooring bubbling up I booked this online and I feel like the quality of this hotel was misrepresented. There is no better place to stay in Habersham County. The property had gone a soft remodel in the last year or so. But I stayed here long after. Very very clean. Very well maintained. Solid. This is one of those family run industries hit hard by Covid but they are making the corner. And doing well. Having stayed at many places this one stands out. These guys are pros and the screens in the rooms are 55 plus. HBO in each room, great Wi-Fi. This place should be packed every night. Across the street from a chick fillet, Walmart, Taco Bell, and Captain D's. Next to a Verizon store and solid Mexican restaurant. Pizza too. What more can you want in Cornelia? Clean clean clean. We have stayed at this location twice now while visiting Helen. We prefer to stay outside of Helen mainly for the price. The rooms have been remodeled and still have some repairs that need to be taken care of but for the most part we've had no issues with cleanliness or any inconveniences. The manager and his staff have been super friendly and we enjoy conversing with them. Our first visit we brought our dog with us. My husband had booked it online (not through the hotel directly) and they did not charge us correctly for the pet fee. The manager was very apologetic and took care us. Our second stay was late September and we had referred several family members to reserve a room as well. So far, we have not heard any complaints from and of the other family members or friends. We look forward to visiting Helen again and staying here. read more

This hotel is absolute trash. I've been staying here for the week for about 5 months because I've been working up here, and every room is awful. The shower curtains dont stay on the wall, there's leaks and water damage in every room I've been in (which is quite a few). THEY HAVE BED BUGS. They give me so much grief about my TRAINED service dog, who is allowed to be with me at all times according to federal law. He's allowed to be with my everywhere, and they tell me I can't bring him in the breakfast area or in the lobby unless I'm checking in or out, which is illegal. This is by far the worst hotel and would not recommend it to my worst enemy. read more

This place is horrendous. Filfy, dilapidated, and full of residents, not hotel guests. Party hotel up & down the hallway all hours. Not one staff member/family member had a mask on. There is no covid protocol. They all live there. I tried moving my stay back one night. They refused and charged me full price. Management/ Owner came banging on my door. Demanding $25 per night per dog. Because he couldn't see my service dog tag on his camera. I will never be back. I suggest you never do. Customer service is a joke. read more

We had the worst night stay ever at this hotel. In the middle of the night there were 8 to 10 baby roaches in the bathroom when the light was turned on. Could not get back to sleep. Also there had been a roof leak over the tub and the shower head was coming out of the wall. Told the front desk about the problem in the morning and they didn't offer any kind of a refund - just sorry - we better call an exterminator. Arrived early for check in due to being released from the hospital. Hospital band still on & showed to the Manager, which stated that he could not check me in early & that if I sat in the lobby I would be in the way? Really?? Not very kind or friendly here. In fact the manager made me get up & move so he could sweep & made me go to the counter to offer me early check in @ $45 more INSTEAD of being accommodating to me & my condition & coming over to me. Note (2) cars in main parking lot (which I think is his Mercedes parked in a HANDICAP PARKING SPACE (without a handicap sticker) which fits the bill with the way I was treated today. They should all be ashamed!! So I've just left this horrible hotel & I would fore warn you that you might want to find a better hotel, the rudeness, unkindness & disheartening experience I was subjected to today poorly reflects upon both the corporate brand its carrying (Hampton Inn) & the franchised corporate name both. The stay itself was fine. The front desk staff I interacted with was very friendly, and the room was clean. HOWEVER, make sure you get everything that belongs to you from the room before you leave. If you happen to forget something, the manager will take close to 3 weeks to send it back, despite telling you it'll be shipped out the next day, on 2 separate occasions. When you ask why it's taken so long, he will come up with a plethora of excuses of why he is incapable of placing the package in the mail (these will include: the post office was closed, the post office was 'under construction', and even blame the rest of his staff for 'hiding it'). They will also refuse to do next-day shipping, despite the fact you have waited over 2 weeks for a package that has never even left the hotel. read more

I was talked into doing a 5K, which in itself alone is quite a feat, except this 5K was to take place in Toccoa, Georgia (I live in Atlanta), at 7am. So, needless to say, leaving Atlanta at 5am was not an option in my book, so we reserved the last room at this Baymont Inn and Suites. Why it and every other hotel in Cornelia was booked solid on a random Friday night was not easily discernible, but they did a good job handling the crowd. The room was recently remodeled, though still a little worn around the edges. Despite being a nonsmoking room, ours did smell a little smoky, and though they couldn't switch our rooms, they did come and spray some air freshener and switch out the filter. But overall, it was clean, safe, and quiet, and I can't really ask for much more. read more

It was very expensive for the type of room and very dirty. I did not want to even take a shower in the bathroom. There were patched holes with mix matched paint over it. The floors in the bathroom was extremely dirty and old looking. The towels were thin and old looking. There was no complimentary hair dryer. The front door had about an inch gap around it where you can hear everything in the hall and the hall light was coming into the room. The air conditioner rattled all night. Our room was the worst room we have ever stayed in. Blood on the top bed sheet, smoke alarm was missing, safety latch on the entry door was broken off, the room smelled like cigaret smoke although we had to sign a form that we would not smoke in the room. We have many other complaints about this room but my advise would be to go someplace else for the night!!! read more

Do not stay!! Rip off got charged $250 for smoking 8n the room and never smoked in the room. After 3 moths of calls and unprofessionalism from the general manager and managers on duty. I was offered $100 of my money back. Had to settle on that to the fact that they could not prove to me that I had smoked even though they said they had pictures. BEWARE!! read more

My folks stayed at this motel on 8/5/14 and my father cut his arm on a sharp corner of marble in the bathroom and they did not even have a first aid kit to help with the bleeding. One of the men went out to his truck for a small bandage and electric tape to hold it until they were able to go to the hospital. The manager Aleasha would not help or offer any help with their stay. When I called her to talk to her, she hung up on me and then she said they weren't going to do anything and how did she even know that it happened there. My mother took pictures of the edge that he cut his arm on that still had the blood on it and Aleasha said there was no blood at all. Also, the rooms were mostly clean but very small and they were suppose to have breakfast (coffee, cereal, and a small amount of fruit) available at 6am. One of the customers had to wake the man up at the front desk at a little after 6am to make the coffee and put the breakfast things out. They weren't even ready with anything. This motel has went down hill since it was changed over from Holiday Inn. There is a Hampton Inn next to it that I would spend the extra money and stay at. read more

Good room. Good price. Not fancy, but clean. There are not many choices in this area. The Hampton Inn adjacent to the Baymont is much nicer, but also more expensive. The Baymont is good enough and saves money. It is close to Piedmont College if that is why you are staying in the area. read more

Stayed at the Baymont for a weekend getaway to Helen, GA. Hotel was clean, breakfast was delish (for a hotel) staff was very friendly.. Had a bump in the road on our last night. Air conditioner broke, staff came in to check immediately . The management was not in at the time of check out but was told they would return my call first thing Monday morning. Sure enough they did and gave a partial refund for the last nights stay. I would recommend this hotel for your next stay to the mountains. read more
