We had a great stay. We were here one night and booked less than an hour before we arrived. The check in process was easy and quick. Our room was clean and ready. The staff were great. There is a nice pool and fitness center, although no spa. The AC worked great throughout the room and common areas, except the elevator which was humid. The breakfast had lots of options and was well stocked. They were having an issue with the coffee maker so coffee was like warm and needed to be microwaved, but otherwise we were happy with our stay.

But theoretically, it has a pool and hot tub.) It has board games that you can check out to play in your room. All of the rooms are suites, so each room has a full kitchen with an electric stove, refrigerator, microwave and sink. The rooms also have dining room tables. The continental breakfast is complimentary and has things like make-your-own waffles, yogurt and cereal. As for me, the one thing a hotel needs to have is a fitness center, and TownePlace Suites by Marriott has one. It isn't the biggest hotel gym I've ever been in, nor is it the best, but it got the job done. It has a couple of ellipticals, a couple of treadmills, a recumbent bike and some free weights. Blessedly, no one except for me was in the fitness center each time I visited. I imagine it doesn't see much action. I also really liked how centrally located the hotel is. It's right in the middle of downtown Jeffersonville, so you can walk to all kinds of restaurants, shops and other things. You could even walk to Louisville, if you wanted! Across the street from the hotel is a playground -- not affiliated with the hotel, but nice to have close if you have kids, and adds to the family-friendliness of the hotel area. I chatted with the woman behind the check-in desk for a bit, and she was a wealth of knowledge about the area. If you need recommendations on where to go, what to do or what to eat while you're in Jeffersonville, don't be afraid to ask the people here at the hotel.

The AC temperature was set at 64. The bathroom light over the bathtub was out. There was no hot water in the sink no matter how long I had the water run, it was barely warm. The next morning I found that the only way to get hot water in the shower was to literally turn the lever all the way over. But that was only part of the problem as the tub drain was partially clogged so during my entire shower I was standing in ankle high water. The towels were thin and partially thread bare. My door lock didn't work correctly. In order to close the door I had to scan the card key over the outside of the door while it was open to disengage the lock in order to close the door. On Sunday evening I told the woman at the front desk about the light over the bathtub. She mumbled "I'll let them know" but I noticed she didn't write it down, and of course it wasn't fixed. On Monday morning I left the hotel at 9 am, not returning until after 5. My room was not services whatsoever. The towels I used were on the bathroom floor, and the bed was unmade. When I left again for the evening, there was no one at the front desk...the attendant was outside chatting epithets someone while smoking a cigarette. I left the hotel on Tuesday at 9 with my luggage. Horrible Stay.

I was a bit out off by the limited base hours. It's Louisville. Should've the bar open before 5pm on a Sunday? She explained that the bar is separate from check in and the kitchen or something, and they couldn't justify bringing in a bartender. Just makes no sense. How somebody that can check people in and pour drinks. It wasn't that just. The good ... Location. Convenient to Yum Center, downtown bars and restaurants, Roots 101 (super recommend this), and the Muhammad Ali Center (further but walkable). The bad ... The rooms. The rooms are tiny. Not much room for more than the bed, shower, and restroom. You definitely don't want to have 2 people. There's no place to lounge at all. My housekeeper didn't come a couple days I was there. My bed was never made up. But, I did come back to some fresh towels. We only stayed here because a group of us came from California for the Cal-Louisville game. Had I known the rooms were this small, I would have stayed elsewhere. But, I understand that this is their "thing," so I can't fault the hotel. If you're looking to save a little and don't mind a small room, this is a good spot. But, is your tastes are more for a larger room, stay away.

The property is old, and it looks as though they are trying to make upgrades. As a woman traveling by myself and I am very particular about where I stay. Plus, the only room they had available was in the very rear of the property. Being in the back of the property wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. If had been in a room on the inner area I would have heard all the noise from kids playing in the pool. I am happy to say that the room was clean, and wasn't as reflective of the exterior as I thought it would be. There is a swimming pool and a continental breakfast in the morning, and there was a Mexican restaurant that received good Yelp reviews on the property. If I were driving through Louisville again I would stay there again.

But if you're looking for a clean place to lay your head for the night, no problem. Check in was efficient, room was assigned as requested. The bathroom tile had been updated and the walls freshly painted but again this hotel/motel is dated, so if you want a garden tub...move on.

Lower priced than Hampton or Garden Inn as a general rule. The larger rooms with a semi full kitchen, real refrigerator, excellent desk area and not feeling cramped after wasted time on the road in cramped vehicles or crammed into airplanes is a joy and lowers everyone's stress. However this time there were some easy misses. First the room cleaning between guests was sloppy and incomplete. There was leftover food in the fridge, leaves on the floor and leaves in the bed indicating the sheets had not been changed! Gross! There was minimal silverware in the kitchen, one spoon and one fork. Even if they had previously been stolen by past thieving guests you still have to replace them. This room is sold as sleeping four plus the fold out bed for a total of six. You should have an equal amount of silverware to accommodate the head count you say fits in this room. Go buy some cheap silverware at a goodwill store. Who cares if they don't match from room to room. It would save you money and make guests happy. Do better please, we know you can.

3 stars. Decent…read moreenough. Clean enough. Close enough. This hotel is old. It needs to be remodeled. It still has those push button, dimmer-type lights from the 70s/80s. It was kinda nostalgic to see them somewhere other than my grandmother's house. The staff is very kind. The front desk manager was super sweet and accommodating. Towels are rough like sandpaper. And they don't leave but one set in the room. I had to go back to the front desk to ask for more. Check your account to ensure the stay is there. I just looked and mine is missing. This is a tired, aging hotel. Decor and rooms are nothing to write home about. Area definitely feels shady and not 100% safe. When I checked in, they couldn't give me a second room keycard - the dude said he literally didn't have any extra to give... say what?! Had to call the front desk twice to complain about upstairs neighbors having a dance party at 11:30PM. My girlfriend called back 5 minutes after the first call and the front desk guy lied to her and said he went up there - he obviously hadn't since it had gotten even worse. Only after he heard me getting dressed and say I was going up there did he do something about it. Super not cool. No more Fairfields for me. Too many bad experiences. Only reason I chose this hotel was because it was a decent price and I would get Marriott points for the stay. If you aren't tied to Marriott, plenty of other comparably-priced, NEWER hotels in the local area. Do yourself a favor and skip this Fairfield.
