he reservation was made through a well known company, Priceline. Manager Eric or Erin Sonora or Sonoran stated that such a company,( Priceline), should not be used due to the false advertising and the tricks they use to deceive customers. I believe he is wrong, I have used Priceline many times before and I received excellent services, including Hotel and airfare. Upon arrival to the Hotel main desk we requested a room on the second floor. After all was said and done,we went to the room and found a horrible surprise, the room was very tight, small and without a normal window. Mr. Sonora or Sonoran probably does not conduct inspections of the rooms he offers to customers, more on this below. Such actions speak poorly of his professionalism in the field and his disrespect for the Marriott brand. The view from the window was a dark and dirty wall, at no more than 5 or 6 feet across the way. It was depressing, too late to make changes, according to Maria at the front desk, that was the last room available,(not true). They keep the worst rooms for Priceline, Booking.com, Hotel.com, etc, according to Mr. Sonora. The bed was a King size, slightly slanted towards the Headboard, we had to sleep by the footboard. The mattress was extremely soft, we almost sunk in it, not a good thing for your neck and back. The pillows were so empty that two of them were not enough to level your head to a comfortable position. We were not at a shelter, we paid almost $ 300 dollars for the room. I also included pictures of what appeared to be square ottomans, dirty and full of worn out edges. The view from the window seen on the pictures speaks for itself.

Good spot if you're in Oro Valley, easy access to al the high-end shopping madness nearby. No-frills what you'd expect from a Fairfield with friendly staff and solid breakfast. Since you're probably already set back several hundy seeing the sights, the free parking and proximity to Valley sights are a value. Mointain views our the back door are worth the price alone, and enjoy the pool in scorching sun or "winter". Not anywhere near the airport, but what is in Tucson? If you're attending a conference atelier Conquistador you can take a shortcut through the field for a nice 10-15 min walk.

I will say this place is decent for the money. My family stayed here in November and were able to get three rooms all next to one another. The rooms and bathrooms are in heavy need of an upgrade - they are not modernized at all - but the beds are comfortable and the workers / managers are super nice. The pillows however are flat as a pancake so I recommend getting extra upon arrival. There is free breakfast until 9 a.m. which is great but wish it was open at least until 10. The best part of breakfast is the waffles - especially if you have kids. Breakfast overall is mediocre. The pool and hot tub also needs upgraded - the hot tub jets barely work. The view though is phenomenal (see photo).

Ask the Community - Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Tucson North/Oro Valley

Is this a pet friendly hotel?

That all depends. I don't think you can bring in a pit bull, but a something like a mini schnauzer should be acceptable.

There is definitely room for some updates. That said, the grounds are meticulously maintained, the staff are all so very helpful, and our personal experience was excellent. We had a nice, clean room with a great view from our balcony of the mountains and the pool area (thanks, Lorenza!). We enjoyed watching the colors of the mountains change during sunrises and sunsets. Your housekeeping staff were all super helpful and did a great job during our stay. We had great experiences at the pool and with all of the pool staff - everyone was very attentive and friendly. John in the gift shop was so friendly and helpful. Our restaurant experiences were all positive, and all of our servers were great. We appreciated the location of the resort relative to local hiking golfing, dining, etc.

I moved in, put all my clothes away and hung up my dress shirts in the bath to steam them. After 15 min, I turned the water off and closed the door only to return 30 min later to remove the shirts when I was shocked by roaches all over the bathtub. I quickly called the front desk and was relocated to another room. Now I had the eebie geebies..but got settled in my new room. I went to sleep - only to be woken by a stranger checking into my room. He apologized and said they gave him this room. I realized I was checked into the wrong room during the transfer and when I went to the front desk to get room keys (rekeyed)..I met someone at the front desk who could have had a more understanding attitude. The room is ok..if you look close then you can see the age of the building. By the time I got off the phone one big dude walked around the entry way of the room. The location is nice, the resort nicely located at the base of a mountainside. It is probably best to enjoy the location versus looking too closely as there are signs of aging.

The girls at the bar are awesome, keeping up with orders, tidying up every chance they get, and serving dinner for those patrons who choose to dine in. The gym is spacious and offers variety of weights (dumbbells and weighted balls), weight bench, treadmills, ellipticals, and space to stretch and exercise on your own. The room I had on the 1st floor had a living room, dining area/study, bedroom, and large bathroom with closet. The room was great! Laundry rooms are available on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Coins are available at the front desk and laundry supplies you can get at the CVS next door. There is a Starbucks around the corner also and it was convenient for last minute items. Parking is typically paid for, but because I was here in a work trip, we had a block of rooms for our group and parking was included.

We stayed here for one week in a spacious and well-equipped two-bedroom unit. Temperature highs were mostly in the 60s and low 70s, making it easy to enjoy the attractions of the Tucson area as well as the resort's outdoor amenities. Grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping are also within a few miles. Location. The resort is in a very quiet location but is convenient to most anything that you might want or need in the area. My husband and I loved the vibe of the area, with wide slow-moving double-laned streets, bike lanes, and many sidewalks, which encourage a lot of the locals to be out walking and biking. We regularly used the resort pool and spacious jacuzzi tub, and walked some of the nearby Virtoso Trails Nature Preserve trails, as well as those of Honeybee Canyon Park, both of which in the Oro Valley and close to the resort. There were stunning sunsets viewable from the resort on most nights. We also used the resort as our base for exploring the Tucson environment -- a drive up to Mt Lemmon/the Coronado National Forest/Catalina State Park; Sabino Recreation Area; both the eastern and western units of Saguaro National Park; Casa Grande Ruins National Monument,, and more. The unit. Our two-bedroom unit was very comfortable, and well-appointed. Six people could stay here comfortably. There was a huge bed in the main bedroom, twin beds in the second bedroom, and a large Murphy bed near the dining table. The kitchen was full-sized and stocked with everything you might need -- fridge/freezer, range/oven, dishwasher, pots/pans, plates/bowls/cups/glasses/knives/utensils, cabinet space for groceries, and even commonly-used spices. Other great features in the unit included a cozy electric fireplace, a patio that had a small table/chairs and a grill and a combo washer/dryer (and starter laundry detergent) in the unit. Communications were excellent, at check-in and in a follow-up phone call to see if we needed anything. Parking was free and directly outside of our unit. Critters. Upon check-in, we were given a handout to remind us that the resort is located in the Sonoran Desert, which is home to many desert critters -- rattlesnakes, javelina, coyote, scorpions & tarantulas, and bobcats. In addition to basic information about the wildlife, the resort provided information about urgent care resources in the area. We're happy to report that we didn't see any poisonous or dangerous creatures, whether on-site or in hiking in Honey Bee, the Sequoga National Park, or the Mt. Lemmon trails. (We did see a coyote in a Phoenix park though). A few minor things worth mentioning. *This resort charges an occupancy tax, which was disclosed at the time of reservation. The tax was $50+ for the week. *When we logged-on to Wi-Fi in the room, we were met by a screen that informed us that Wi-Fi would cost $49.95 for 3 devices for 10 days or $69.95 for 6 devices. Surprised by these charges, my husband called the resort, and were pleasantly surprised when we were given a code that erased the charges. *Some gold crown resorts have jacuzzis in the unit; this one does not. *The tv in the living room is small, but appropriately-sized for its current location. *It'd probably time to upgrade the couches. We alternatively sunk into the cushions or were sliding off. We would definitely stay here again when we return to the Tucson area.

Check-in was smooth, and every staff member we encountered was warm and welcoming. The property has a lot to enjoy--especially the pool area with incredible sunset views. The hot tubs tucked around the resort were also a favorite spot to unwind. We appreciated having nearby grocery stores where we stocked up on food, including steaks for the patio BBQ. Our room itself was comfortable, though the view from our patio was a bit underwhelming, facing the street and neighboring houses. Still, the overall setting of Oro Valley made up for it--the area is clean, scenic, and filled with great dining options, plus plenty of walking and hiking trails to explore. Overall, it's a peaceful getaway spot with beautiful surroundings, friendly service, and relaxing amenities.
