Per WorldMark, this resort features Pueblo revival architecture that settles into the surrounding area, and nearby historic and cultural attractions welcome desert adventurers." We stayed here for one week in a spacious and well-equipped two-bedroom unit. Temperature highs were mostly in the 60s and low 70s, making it easy to enjoy the attractions of the Tucson area as well as the resort's outdoor amenities. Grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping are also within a few miles. Location. The resort is in a very quiet location but is convenient to most anything that you might want or need in the area. My husband and I loved the vibe of the area, with wide slow-moving double-laned streets, bike lanes, and many sidewalks, which encourage a lot of the locals to be out walking and biking. We regularly used the resort pool and spacious jacuzzi tub, and walked some of the nearby Virtoso Trails Nature Preserve trails, as well as those of Honeybee Canyon Park, both of which in the Oro Valley and close to the resort. There were stunning sunsets viewable from the resort on most nights. We also used the resort as our base for exploring the Tucson environment -- a drive up to Mt Lemmon/the Coronado National Forest/Catalina State Park; Sabino Recreation Area; both the eastern and western units of Saguaro National Park; Casa Grande Ruins National Monument,, and more. The unit. Our two-bedroom unit was very comfortable, and well-appointed. Six people could stay here comfortably. There was a huge bed in the main bedroom, twin beds in the second bedroom, and a large Murphy bed near the dining table. The kitchen was full-sized and stocked with everything you might need -- fridge/freezer, range/oven, dishwasher, pots/pans, plates/bowls/cups/glasses/knives/utensils, cabinet space for groceries, and even commonly-used spices. Other great features in the unit included a cozy electric fireplace, a patio that had a small table/chairs and a grill and a combo washer/dryer (and starter laundry detergent) in the unit. Communications were excellent, at check-in and in a follow-up phone call to see if we needed anything. Parking was free and directly outside of our unit. Critters. Upon check-in, we were given a handout to remind us that the resort is located in the Sonoran Desert, which is home to many desert critters -- rattlesnakes, javelina, coyote, scorpions & tarantulas, and bobcats. In addition to basic information about the wildlife, the resort provided information about urgent care resources in the area. We're happy to report that we didn't see any poisonous or dangerous creatures, whether on-site or in hiking in Honey Bee, the Sequoga National Park, or the Mt. Lemmon trails. (We did see a coyote in a Phoenix park though). A few minor things worth mentioning. *This resort charges an occupancy tax, which was disclosed at the time of reservation. The tax was $50+ for the week. *When we logged-on to Wi-Fi in the room, we were met by a screen that informed us that Wi-Fi would cost $49.95 for 3 devices for 10 days or $69.95 for 6 devices. Surprised by these charges, my husband called the resort, and were pleasantly surprised when we were given a code that erased the charges. *Some gold crown resorts have jacuzzis in the unit; this one does not. *The tv in the living room is small, but appropriately-sized for its current location. *It'd probably time to upgrade the couches. We alternatively sunk into the cushions or were sliding off. We would definitely stay here again when we return to the Tucson area. read more

Located in the beautiful Oro Valley, just outside of Tucson. We stayed in a studio for three nights in early August, and since it wasn't too busy, the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. Check-in was smooth, and every staff member we encountered was warm and welcoming. The property has a lot to enjoy--especially the pool area with incredible sunset views. The hot tubs tucked around the resort were also a favorite spot to unwind. We appreciated having nearby grocery stores where we stocked up on food, including steaks for the patio BBQ. Our room itself was comfortable, though the view from our patio was a bit underwhelming, facing the street and neighboring houses. Still, the overall setting of Oro Valley made up for it--the area is clean, scenic, and filled with great dining options, plus plenty of walking and hiking trails to explore. We came on vacation with family so we rented the apartment with bedrooms. There is a primary bedroom, a room with 2 twin beds and a pull out bed. The living room is spacious. There is a nice dining table and kitchen as well as a washer and dryer. This room was able to accommodate 7 people. We were able to travel about 1 hour to multiple sites during our vacation. We will definitely stay at another WorldMark the next time we go on vacation. read more

We stayed at Ranchero Vistoso in September during off season for a week. Check-in was quick and seamless. Plenty of parking is available. There is an ice machine on-site. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite on the ground level in the back of the resort. During check-in we witnessed a couple having trouble with their door locks. Maintenance showed the couple how to jiggle the handle to enter their room. They were not pleased, nor would I be. The hot tub nearest our room was out of order during our entire stay. Unit commodities (coffee/popcorn/soap/detergent/etc.) can be restocked by requesting desired items from the walk-up window near the front of the resort (not the registration office). Our unit had a small dining table that seated six. A fully stocked kitchen including a full sized coffee pot. The only seasonings provided are salt and pepper. Foil and cling wrap are not provided. A stacked washer and dryer is in the closet to launder clothing. Living room had a standard couch and chair. The master bedroom had a king sized bed and it's own bathroom with standard hygiene products. The second bedroom housed two twin beds. The back patio had a gas grill with a 4-top table to sit at. Outdoors one will find a hot tub, swimming pool, tennis court, and a playground. Overall, Ranchero Vistoso was decent and peaceful with friendly staff. It was hard not to compare this resort to the Indio resort in CA which is much more grand. read more

We had the opportunity to visit with my parents who are owners. We had a penthouse unit! It was very nice! There were a lot of nice features! 1- the pool was super warm and clean! 2. The unit had a ton of room! There was a big family room, 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms! 3. The kitchen had everything you would need. 4. The location is fabulous! Safe area, great views and clean. There was one negative: The bathrooms and kitchen floors were filthy. You could see the grime. After using the shower I stepped out on a white shower mat. I picked it up to hang it up, it was black where I had stood on it. For the amount of money owners pay for the use of these units and the maintenance fees charged, this was a big disappointment. read more

This was half way between Oxnard and Albuquerque - a sleepover as we drove to Niece's home. She used her Wyndham points for our one night stay. We were impressed with the check in area, the sweet young woman who checked us in at 10PM, and our huge room. We wish that we had had time to look at the stars (SO dark!), but we were tired and it was cloudy. The beds - in the bedroom and the Murphy bed - were comfortable. The black out shades let in NO light so we slept well until 8 AM. Sofa in living room area was comfortable for watching TV. We had the complimentary tea and coffee in the morning, before leaving, easily made in the kitchen area. Fridge kept drinks and food cold. We hope to return for more than one night. When our Grand Niece attended University of Arizona, family stayed here often, and raved about it - rooms, amenities and service. read more

We stayed here because the resort that we originally reserved was "overbooked." I won't get into details on that issue. However, as plan B, it's was ok, but not what we had in mind. There's no golf course, no dining options on this property either. It's definitely a place for families, large children playing areas and adequate pool. We don't have children, so the noise was a bit much. It's definitely an apartment complex to suggest a "resort" is a bit of a stretch. read more

Home away from home! This is our first time staying in this location. This resort is approx 14 miles from Tucson. We love our timeshare and we are quite spoiled by it because of all the amenities a resort has to offer. Although our schedule took us away from it in the daytime we were able to enjoy it at night. We enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool and the recreation area with pool tables, ping-pong and arcade games. We were even able to use the gas BBQ grill to cook our dinner in the balcony one evening. As with all WorldMark resorts each unit has the following amenities: gas fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen w/ microwave and dishwasher, a washer and dryer, cable TV in each room w/ DVD player, stereo system w/ CD player... free wi-fi for up to 4 devices for us (depending on your level of ownership), otherwise, there's a fee. It's home away from home! This WorldMark has Safeway as the nearest grocery store, about 2 miles south of the resort. I believe there is also a Walmart nearby. There is golfing and hiking nearby. So was really nice timeshare in the mid nowhere. outskirts of Tucson near Oro Valley. Customer service at the front desk was very nice I have a gift shop with really good prices hats are under $15 which is really good price. They have grocery stores nearby Safeway and frys and a Walmart. There's a nice point Jacuzzi which my husband enjoyed is too cold for me I think we'll be back there again soon read more

The Staff: Very good. We checked in as tourists, and the front desk gave us all kinds of information on things to do for a week. When my wife thought she might have left her Go Pro at the pool, I spoke with the front desk again and they seemed genuinely concerned, and even checked with maintenance. The best thing about this Wordmark Staff? No FAKE "parking passes" to pick up from that FAKE "concierge" who is nothing but a commissioned sales guy hired off the street, trying to sell additional points for 4 times the price you can purchase from any seller on-line. This is insulting, and the absence of SALES is truly refreshing! The View: This is going to depend on your unit and which floor you are on. In my opinion there isn't going to be anything spectacular no matter where you stay unless you get your jollies from looking at distant foothills, or the east mountains. The Location: Oro Valley is a modern semi-upscale area full of seniors, early retirees, golf addicts, retired mob bosses, and snow-birds who never left in the spring time. The best thing I discovered about Oro Valley is that there is a In & Out Burgers close by. The drive to the city is about 30 minutes, and for us, most tourist destinations were 1 to 2 hours. These include Tombstone, Sonora Desert museum, Pima Air & Space, Saguaro park, and Kartchner Caverns. The Maintenance Man: The television defaulted to Spanish not matter what we tried. After 3 minutes of Monday Night Football we called maintenance. He spent a good 5 minutes going through the menus and sub-menus and finally, mostly due to luck, found the solution. The other issue was a noisy water line into the ice-maker sometimes waking up our guests whenever the machine had to re-fill water. Summary: I would stay here again because we could have done and seen a bit more than 5 days. 7 days would have been perfect. There was plenty of parking, it was clean, nice people, and very quiet in early December. read more

We really enjoyed this place! The staff and I mean EVERY one of them from Check in, housekeeping, gardeners were terrific! We are seniors and had a cooler to take up to our second story 2 bedroom condo. No problem a young gentleman put it on his shoulder and practically jogged up the stairs! He also helped with all our luggage for 2 couple! The unit was clean, comfy and we'll appointed. We had a lite issue with figuring out the TV but they were quick to come and fix it. Condos are close to stores, restaurants and tourist attractions. It was mostly rainy while we were there so we didn't use the pool but it looked very nice and there are 3 or 4 hot tubs around the property. We enjoyed our stay and think you will too! read more

Can get enough of our time share. Can complain and never disappoint me. The place is is located in the little town north of Tucson called Oro Valley. The town is known to be a retirement place for people who just wants to relax and play golf. It's a sleepy town. We booked for Friday, Saturday and Sunday night for the Labor Day weekend, although we got here 8:30 ish in the morning Saturday, we have drove all night for almost 14 hours. We were taken care off immediately and the staff was attentive and great. We got our room. We booked initially for 5 people so we have a 2 bedroom unit equip with all the necessary households you need if you were renting an apartment. It's gorgeous. The settings or theme as you might already know is south western style with maracas on the dining table. Oh yeah the whole are was infested with saguaro cactus. It was pretty neat. The faculty was clean. The rec room was awesome. I get to play with my step daughter playing ping pong,... She enjoyed it most. The place is conveniently located near golf courses and shopping centers. I am glad to for us (me and my wife) to invest to such a prestige resort. read more

This was a good clean property. Awesome views of the mountains and dessert. The room was totally up to date and even had a gas grill on the patio so I could grill some steaks. I will be back to visit. On a side note the only negative is that if you are going South of Tucson this may not be the best place as it is on the north side of the city. This means you waste a little bit of time going through the city and if you hit the traffic wrong you could waste quite a bit of time in gridlock. read more

We stay at this resort at least 2x yearly to visit our parents. Each time it's sparkling clean, friendly, with wonderfully spacious rooms and grounds. This last visit, our son left his special blanket behind(think Linus from Peanuts!) and was devastated. The staff was very helpful and able to locate and ship the blanket within a few days. Stayed half-week in 3 bdrm penthouse. We mostly enjoyed our stay. Our room was reasonably clean. Beds a little hard, but was able to sleep. Heat needed to be turned on for the winter, we were chilled the whole time we were there. We tried to heat up the room with the fireplace, but it's not really meant to be run over and over and could only heat it up about 2 degrees. Showers and baths were nice enough, plenty of towels. Great channel selection on the cable TV. TV in every room. Nice grill on the porch, in good shape. The 3 bedroom suites tend to be very nice at Worldmark properties in general, very roomy. Although most of the nice resorts in the Tucson area are well out of town in the Oro Valley and Dove Mountain areas, or at least in the foothills, be warned that you will be 40-60 minutes away from most tourist attractions and places within central Tucson. Traffic on Oracle (the main N-S route) can be very slow and congested. I already knew this, and am very familiar with Tucson, but it was still annoying. But Oro Valley is a nice, upscale area with many good restaurants, and nice if you plan on doing some hiking up in the North part of town or want a more remote, relaxing feel. Worst problem during our stay was the condition of our private hot tub. Most of the jets were "dead" or underpowered, the water was not heating to the temperature it said it was at, and the chemicals were not only out of balance, but dangerously so. See attached pics. I have a swimming pool and spa at home and we don't hire a service, we run the cleaning and chemicals ourselves. So I know and understand pool chemistry. I only brought my mini-kit with me, so I couldn't get exact numbers, but the initial chemistry was appalling. It could make someone sick. There is a certain range that the bromine and pH need to be in for people to safely use the water and this was well outside that range. I would guess a bromine of over 50, maybe even over 100, and pH of 6. Over brominating (or chlorinating) the water does NOT make it cleaner, or magically erase dirt or body fluids, but it can irritate your skin or worse. You have to work pretty hard to make chlorine or bromine so high as to potentially poison someone, but they sure are on the right track. There were way too many brominating tabs in the tub. I have serious doubts that anyone is adjusting the alkalinity or hardness either. This is not okay. It's very obvious that either the maintenance at this resort was improperly trained to maintain pools, or they are lazy and don't care. The spa was gross and poorly cleaned, as well. It was obvious that when they drained and refilled the hot tub after I complained, that nothing was wiped or brushed down. This is disgusting. I keep an immaculate pool with correct chemistry daily year-round and that is what I expect to see when I am on vacation. I may stay here again since I'm a Worldmark Owner and have friends to visit in Tucson, but I won't waste points on a penthouse, that's for sure. read more

We really enjoyed our stay at the WorldMark Rancho Vistoso. We are not WorldMark owners, but came with our long time friends. We had one of the three bedroom units and was very pleased with the accommodations. The units are adequately stocked for cooking your own meals and having a grill on the porch of every unit was also very nice. The view out the back of our unit was great. We looked out over a desert open space and could sit out back and enjoy the sunset and pleasant outdoor living temperatures. We had a great time down at the recreation center playing ping pong. If was my daughters first time playing and she became addicted. It became a nightly activity. The pool was also very nice and I was amazed that they were heating it. I was thankful that it was being heated as it would have been pretty chili because the temperatures at night while we were there were cold. This location is a little far removed from the main part of Tucson which results in lots of driving, but it is a great spot to come and enjoy the splendor of Arizona. read more

My husband and I had a great time here! Our space had pretty much everything we needed. It felt like being at home! We stayed for 6 nights, and it was just incredible. There was a grill on the back patio, the kitchen had a full stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, and all the utensils you might need to whip up a meal. We did end up washing all of the dishes when we got there though. We had bought some juice, and when we went to drink it the glasses were dusty. We figured we would just wash everything to be safe. The front desk staff were nice and extremely helpful. On one of our last nights there, we went to check out a movie. It was late, about 9pm, and when we came out of the office there were javelinas right outside the door! Jerry, one of the night time clerks, he kept a light on them while we cautiously made our way back. It was definitely an interesting experience! The pool was closed for renovations, but honestly there was so much to do in town, we didn't have time. However, I'm grateful for getting to spend time there. Agree with the previous poster. Area is nice and grounds are nice but the room is very worn and dated. Feet are black are walking around the room for an hour. Lots of cracked tiles, chipped paint, worn furniture, very old and SMALL telivisions, etc. Front desk are very friendly and helpful. read more

This is definitely one of the nicer, newer resorts we have stayed at. The property was very clean and beautiful. There was a lot to do; playground, clubhouse with activities, great room with fireplace and TV, large pool, and several hot tubs throughout. We had a 3 bedroom, 2 bath condo with private balcony. One of the rooms had 2 beds, and that's where the kids slept. Spacious closet room, very clean beds and fully stocked with everything you need in the kitchen. Fireplace in the living room and TV's in every room, the dining table was large enough that we could all sit around and play games so that was a bonus too. We never heard any of the neighbors and when you walked outside it was so quiet and calming. It was a weekend getaway for us, and we had a great time. read more

Not one of the better Worldmark properties. There were just so many things wrong with our unit and we had to call maintenance in several times. Plus, we had to re-wash the linens and towels .. ick. I have stayed at WorldMark Vistoso several times as a 1 night on the way to Texas. I have found the rooms more comfortable than staying in a hotel, although they can be more complicated. Disappointing would be an understatement. Room not as advertised in description or photo. Instead of "mountain view," the condo backs onto major road. Instead of "2nd floor balcony" it's first floor with giant green utility station view. Checkin woman nice, yet when we call from room with concerns got Jerry who said "too bad - no other rooms - we are not responsible for the photos used to display rooms - we hope you'll enjoy yourself yoursel- call ahead next time when you come again." my family has long since gone to Worldmark Resorts....the service was exceptional, them going out of the way was the norm. in short its everything I have come to expect from such a good company. they do have nature pollution laws in the area I think its called so we did the buddy system everywhere we went because it was so dark that you couldn't see the street names while driving. I would recommend using a GPS and if you are going to use a smart device use one that's affiliated with Verizon. I would highly discourage the use of printed maps I honestly hope to go back and yes they take great pride in keeping the place well kept up on their landscaping read more

Not a big fan of the desert, but I had to come to Tucson for a family visit and stayed at WorldMark Rancho Vistoso. While I can't comment on the price, as I didn't pay, the room was really nice. Spacious and comfy, and I'd have been satisfied even if I had paid. A plus for me, I found some desert creatures, including a roadrunner, right outside my door. This would be a great place to rent if you had to come to Tucson with an extended family, especially if you like that infernal game involving the little sticks, small white balls, and holes in the grass. read more

World Mark Rancho Vistoso in Oro Valley. They don't have mid week housekeeping and you must call if you want clean towels. I have never stayed in a condo that did not come in and wash the floors, change the sheets and towels mid week. The pool is way to small to accommodate the quest. read more
