Star Wars film accompanied by out wonderful Tucson Symphony Orchestra

I'm a huge fan of our symphony orchestra and decided to check out this special partnership of live music of the Williams score and the iconic film by Spielberg. What a hoot. Lots of families, fans, and wookies'

Nice smaller venue. Accoustics are great! And not a very bad seat in the house! Staff are very friendly & helpful for the most part! Can't comment on food as we did not have any.

Tucson Symphony

The Tucson Symphony was great and the acoustics are perfect in the music hall. I could hear every single instrument and it was just amazing. I had never been there before so parking was not obvious. I ended finding parking along S. Granada street which was free because it's street parking after hours. Unfortunately from there I had to ask around how to get to the music hall and found a gentleman that pointed menu the right direction. Once I got in, I asked the usher where my seat was and they pointed me to the general area but it so poorly listed and there were numbers on the floor that didn't match up. It was so confusing. I asked the usher again and they just pointed me to the area. Finally I asked a person what their seat number was and once he told me, I realized the numbers on the floor are meaningless. I found my seat at least. It was at the back of the theater. The seats aren't staggered enough and not elevated enough so I had a couple in front of me blocking my view which was annoying. After intermission, since half of the music hall was empty I picked a different seat halfway down and the elevation of the seats was much better where the couple in front of me was not blocking my view. This is something to keep in mind when picking seats, I would avoid the back of the theater orchestra level. At intermission the men's bathroom was packed and very tight. It was hard to wash your hands and get the paper towels as other people were always in the way. I would suggest avoiding the bathrooms during intermission if you can. Other than that, I enjoyed the symphony very much and would go back again but keep in mind the suggestions I made to have the best experience. seemed was as it was at the back of the theater

Great show, opened on time. I didn't try the food (popcorn, snacks and drinks were available for purchase) but they did look enticing. The atmosphere was as one would expect for a music hall. Service at the door was great. The tickets in my Apple Wallet didn't work (was told the WiFi was bad there), but the original ones in the Ticketmaster app did and the person scanning appreciated knowing that so she could tell others. Parking was efficient and without issue.

The acoustics sounded great plus I'm 6 5" and the seats are very comfortable, large, and have plenty of leg room unlike the TCC.

Styx playing at the Tucson music hall

Wow what a great concert. Styx is still playing their greatest hits after 53 years. The Tucson music hall was very nice and easy to get to. Just downtown Tucson with several parking garages nearby. Very organized and the people working there were very friendly. Plenty of food and drinks in the lobby but try some of the local restaurants in walking distance.

It was ok. We saw Star Wars Return of the Jedi with the Symphony performing the score. Lack of ushers lead to late arrivers using their phones as flashlights trying to find their seat. Their TTY was not working so the entire movie was closed captioned, which is annoying. The seat egress lighting in the LL balcony section was turning on for 2 seconds then off for 15 seconds for the entire first half. Food like popcorn was served in cellophane which was noisy. Could have been so much more. People learn some etiquette and don't talk during the performance and learn how to get to your seat before curtain!

I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. Always very organized and I have seen 2 shows here now. Refreshments for sale and lines are not terribly long. I cant wait to see more shows here!

Linda Ronstadt Music Hall prior to Joe Bonamassa show 11-19-22

Absolutely enjoyed my first time at this venue, now named the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall. I am a huge fan of Joe Bonamassa and once I knew he was performing here I reserved my seat. I was pleased overall and for once didn't have to wait in line after the show for an hour for the bathroom. Lol The security was fairly good leaving. Being a lone female that's always a concern regardless of the venue. But, Joe's show was awesome. The acoustics in there are good. Great seats throughout. Looking forward to my next show.

Here for the opera.

After years with an outdated sound system, it's been redone and you can hear very well in the balcony. Seats are very comfortable.

In addition to this, there's also the barbershop and school that lives here, a healthy food prep restaurant I think, various community classes, and even the "Connections That Count" events that take place at 5 PM every first Wednesday that target, various themes and aim to build a better community (ABC) through fellowship and networking. Currently it serves as a community center, a school, a barber academy, and it rents space out to artists and dancers and educators and even a publishing house! They have some great community programs and I was there for the Free Vegan Cooking class. The speaker, I believe her name is Rosie Kennedy, was great; equal parts knowledgeable and warm and engaging. She broke down a topic that can be daunting and demo'd a couple of recipes. Highly recommend signing up for any of her future programs if they (hopefully!!) have them. The space itself is not great for a cooking lecture because it's not a kitchen. The speaker did an amazing job, especially with all the constraints but she could have really benefitted from a more functional set-up. The room feels like its seen better days but they do have this super cool canvas wrapped around 2 of the walls that documents the history of the local African American community and the Dunbar. All in all I really appreciate having this resource in the community and look forward to their future programs!

Courtyards, rooms, nooks, multiple levels... every corner feels like it could host something special. We have always been curious about staying here and now we can check it off our list. Check in was easy breezy. They offer $10 parking in a nearby garage but we opted for street parking and that worked out just fine for us. Also they do old school actual keys. You can leave it with the front desk if you like and pick it up each time you head up to your room. We had a great room, #214. Large corner room with two big windows, one overlooking the outdoor space of Hotel Congress. Great king sized bed, super comfortable with excellent bedding. Please note--there are no TVs in the rooms. Also our room was allegedly a haunted one, but we didn't notice any activity in that front. They offer some in-room snacks and goodies for purchase. And they also have a cool radio turned to the station that broadcasts from the lobby! It also offers an easy Bluetooth hookup. There is a great little courtyard, so cute, that accommodates 6 people. And there is a community TV as well. Now the noise! Beware. We had requested a "quiet" room, and while we were not above the club, our room overlooked the main stage out back and there was a DJ going until 2 am so it was plenty loud. So we just decided to go with it and join the party and dance until close and we had a great time. Not something we typically do anymore these days, but super fun. And the crowd really seemed like a slice of true Tucson. All ages and all demographics just out for a fun time. In the morning, we enjoyed a lovely breakfast at Cup Cafe and checked out very easily. We enjoyed our time here, but needed a few days to recover from our late night! Thank for a fun and memorable time Hotel Congress!

The room was clean and very well maintained. Old-school style- no tv but there was a radio that we used. The meh: the vibe. It's half historic half night club vibe and I don't feel they mesh. We stayed here for an author event and the outside grounds weren't really suited for a large crowd. The event was great but we suffered through the heat as there were no cooling areas (no shade no umbrellas/ misters etc) it's very clubby downstairs at night, which we were aware of, but it was mostly people getting drunk at the bar which was a weird contrast to the classic style of the hotel. Also the hotel itself is very loud any time past 5pm. They are constantly blaring music, the walls are very thin and they're in the middle of a city main street so you get all that noise as well. Not a real good place to relax. No Bad points. But please don't bring dogs here, check our review on bringfido. There are very few pet relief areas and very steep stairs which were rough on our dogs legs. The noise kept him stressed all night.

The reason for one star: they ruined our sand ceremony keepsake. Once the reception started our gifts, cards and sand kit was placed inside. Once the party was over they lock up. Understandable it's someone's home. That's when I realized our sand kit with our sand keepsake was locked inside. I asked if we can go grab it and they refused. Ok again I understand that it's someone's house but none of the staff or anyone working there offered to go back inside and grab it. I asked when can we get it and They said Monday! Wedding was on a Saturday and We're from Phoenix so it's a bit of a drive. So we drive back to the mansion to pick it up and they left the box on the porch. I grab it and opened it up and they had turned the box upside down so the sand was falling out and it got all mixed up! Now every time I look at our keepsake I'm reminded of how terrible they were to us and how they had no consideration for our belongings. Just throw it outside on the porch.
