Went to see Star Wars A New Hope in concert. The orchestra was awesome. Our seats were also great. I think most every seat is the house would be good for this type of performance. The crowd was average a few true fans willing to cheer and boo. Makes it fun and doesn't at all take away from the amazing orchestra! The Tucson Symphony was great and the acoustics are perfect in the music hall. I could hear every single instrument and it was just amazing. I had never been there before so parking was not obvious. I ended finding parking along S. Granada street which was free because it's street parking after hours. Unfortunately from there I had to ask around how to get to the music hall and found a gentleman that pointed menu the right direction. Once I got in, I asked the usher where my seat was and they pointed me to the general area but it so poorly listed and there were numbers on the floor that didn't match up. It was so confusing. I asked the usher again and they just pointed me to the area. Finally I asked a person what their seat number was and once he told me, I realized the numbers on the floor are meaningless. I found my seat at least. It was at the back of the theater. The seats aren't staggered enough and not elevated enough so I had a couple in front of me blocking my view which was annoying. After intermission, since half of the music hall was empty I picked a different seat halfway down and the elevation of the seats was much better where the couple in front of me was not blocking my view. This is something to keep in mind when picking seats, I would avoid the back of the theater orchestra level. At intermission the men's bathroom was packed and very tight. It was hard to wash your hands and get the paper towels as other people were always in the way. I would suggest avoiding the bathrooms during intermission if you can. Other than that, I enjoyed the symphony very much and would go back again but keep in mind the suggestions I made to have the best experience. seemed was as it was at the back of the theater read more

Great show, opened on time. I didn't try the food (popcorn, snacks and drinks were available for purchase) but they did look enticing. The atmosphere was as one would expect for a music hall. Service at the door was great. The tickets in my Apple Wallet didn't work (was told the WiFi was bad there), but the original ones in the Ticketmaster app did and the person scanning appreciated knowing that so she could tell others. Wow what a great concert. Styx is still playing their greatest hits after 53 years. The Tucson music hall was very nice and easy to get to. Just downtown Tucson with several parking garages nearby. Very organized and the people working there were very friendly. Plenty of food and drinks in the lobby but try some of the local restaurants in walking distance. read more

It was ok. We saw Star Wars Return of the Jedi with the Symphony performing the score. Lack of ushers lead to late arrivers using their phones as flashlights trying to find their seat. Their TTY was not working so the entire movie was closed captioned, which is annoying. The seat egress lighting in the LL balcony section was turning on for 2 seconds then off for 15 seconds for the entire first half. Food like popcorn was served in cellophane which was noisy. Could have been so much more. People learn some etiquette and don't talk during the performance and learn how to get to your seat before curtain! read more

We have seen some concerts here, and have always had balcony seats. However, last night we had the opportunity to see the Arizona Opera's performance of Sound of Music and and front section house left orchestra seats. The sound and lighting of the performance was terrific. The seats are slanted back and in my opinion are not that comfortable for the lower back. The view from our end, row p, was good.....unless you are short and have someone tall sitting in front of you as the rows don't elevate that much from the front to the back. Arm rest area is limited. Security is strict and they adhere to their clear bag policy. The cash bar is expensive, but not that unusual for an event. The restroom facilities are plenty. The congestion in the lobby area can be a bit much as there is no flow for people waiting at the cash bar, or if a concert and t-shirts are being sold. read more

The lines to get in the hall are fairly well organized, there are ushers to help guide you to other open lines when the lines get too long. I neglected to find out that regular bags/purses are not allowed, security will only allow clear bags. Luckily, it wasn't a problem for me, but it would have been nice to have signs posted by the parking lot to let people know this important piece of information. We passed through the metal detectors without incident, into the lobby of the hall. It was a bit chaotic in there as there were lines leading to both of the available bars and no one around to guide the flow of traffic. The sound here is pretty good, but the seating needs help. They were uncomfortable and the rows of seats are very long you can only enter on the left or right and if your seats are in the middle, you've got a lot of people to pass - unless you're the type that gets places early. The spacing in between rows is also bad. I am a short person and my view was completely blocked by the person sitting in front of me. I knew if I moved to the left or right, I'd be blocking the view of the person behind me. Plus, if I leaned to either side, I'd be knocking heads with my neighbors, additionally, arm rest space was really limited too. Bathroom cleanliness was also ok - I don't recall there being any type of air conditioning and the floors were wet, maybe from it feeling sauna-like. read more

Absolutely enjoyed my first time at this venue, now named the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall. I am a huge fan of Joe Bonamassa and once I knew he was performing here I reserved my seat. I was pleased overall and for once didn't have to wait in line after the show for an hour for the bathroom. Lol The security was fairly good leaving. Being a lone female that's always a concern regardless of the venue. But, Joe's show was awesome. The acoustics in there are good. Great seats throughout. Looking forward to my next show. read more

We came here to see the opera, Tosca. We had seats in the middle of the auditorium. The acoustics were very good. I'm not sure if the seats toward the back would be as good for sight or sound. Be sure you have a really small purse, or put your items in a clear bag. Security is strict on that. Also, they won't even let you take an empty water bottle in to fill at the drinking fountains that have the water bottle spout for that very reason. Instead, if you're thirsty, use the water fountain during intermission or pay $4.50 for a bottle of water! Drinks, ice cream, etc were expensive, but that's usually the case for venues like this. We had a nice time and are glad there is a venue like this in Tucson. read more

Although I've lived in AZ a number of years ago, this was my first visit to the Tucson Music Hall. As a venue itself, it's adequate .. but a bit old. We had seats in the lower balcony ... second row. Great seats. But a terrible hazard .. no railing on deep steps. Going up was worse than going down. So sit downstairs. As far as the show .. we saw Shen Yun. It was amazing. The dancers were so graceful and precise. The colors were amazing and apparently Shen Yun developed a new type of electronic genius where the 3-D digital backdrop became integrated with the live dancers ... this was mind boggling. This performance was only in Tucson for two day and is now headed for Phoenix. So if you have a chance to go ... I'd say go .. it's worth the $$. And the end of the show they did say that Shen Yun now has 7 difference companies performing simultaneously across the country ... so when it comes near you, you gotta go. read more

Service was great. Seating is comfortable, staff was accommodating and most importantly the sound was perfect.

98-89% of mass shootings are perpetrated by men, but I was not allowed to bring my regular purse in "for safety reasons". I didn't see them ask a single man to empty out his pockets. I'm embarrassed for the security personnel who have to enforce such a random, sexist rule, and I do hope the people in charge realize how stupid and useless it truly is. (Same happened at my daughters dance recital a few months ago. The dance instructors were nice and gave us fair warning so I carried my stuff in a produce bag. Thanks for keeping it classy, Tucson!) ETA: Got farther down the line, and the security is as thick as at the airport. Now I'm convinced they had a threat of some sort (I mean, we're here to see John Cleese; is this really a high-risk event?!). Maybe they'll let us know what exactly we should be worried about? read more

A decent venue for the arts, but the seats can be a long way from the stage. The acoustics seem okay, but the actual performance will tell. The lobby refreshments are pricey. Mostly, I prefer the older temple of music and arts even if the restrooms here are more modern. read more

A nice venue. Features good acoustics. Comfortable seating (for the most part. As a 6' 4" person not many seats are comfortable). Ok last night our seats had lots of leg room! Not enough ushers. Poor directions to seats. So make extra time if you are unfamiliar with the venue to find your seat. Especially if they shit the doors when performance starts. Bathroom line is long for men and women. Wow! Parking took forever so plan for extra time there too. If you are doing will call....plan for more time. read more

Very comfortable setting. There didn't seem to be any bad or obstructed views that we saw. We saw Bill Maher and sound was good quality also. I can't speak to other amenities like food or drink because we didn't utilize those. Woman's bathroom was very clean and parking was adequate. read more

Attended the Chicago band concert. They sounded great and played the hits we wanted to hear. The venue was nice with low seat backs so you can see the stage. The lines for the bathrooms and for drinks was not too long. Parking was a little difficult with the construction but we found parking along Stone Ave. The venue was just right, not too big so every seat was good. read more

I attended the Death Cab for Cutie show last Saturday March 30th. I drove up from Phoenix and stayed in a hotel excited to see a band that hadn't performed here in over 13 years. I purchased Section LBALC, Row D, Seat 145 and 146. While the sound at Tucson Music hall was incredible the tickets I purchased were a waste as I couldn't see the stage the entire time. There was a women who decided to stand up the whole show blocking the view of everyone behind her. No one else in the LLB was standing. Several people asked her to sit down, to which she replied with vulgarities and a flip of the bird. I asked an usher to have her sit, and she responded the same way to the usher. So the usher did nothing. She continued to stand, and to film (with her flash on) the rest of the show. I was two seats behind her and couldn't adjust my head far enough to either side to see. The people directly behind her were so frustrated they left 4 songs in. I paid $122.05 for these tickets. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of management at this venue. There was no enforcement of the "no filming", nor was management at the show able to offer any alternative options for those of us unable to see the concert. There were so many people affected by this lack of management turning what should have been a dream show in to a frustrating nightmare. read more

Just wanted to update my review of the Tucson Music Hall by saying that the lobby is woefully too small to handle a capacity crowd. That was poor planning/design. Intermission is an exercise in being a sardine. A tip on parking: get there early and park in the angle parking on Church or on Ochoa Street for free. read more

I'm a big guy, so I don't expect to be comfy, but when the 5'5" skinny girl in front of me couldn't get into her seat without dipping her hips side to side, I knew it wasn't just me. Please, oh please Tucson - can someone update our sad, tired old Music Hall? I always catch several symphony performances, and while I am always richly rewarded by the music, I am disheartened by the state of this place, from the dry and intrusive "water feature" outside punctuated by odd rock sculptures topped by concrete orbs and a permanent peril for the disabled and the rowdy young alike to the wildly retro 70s carpet. The stage itself boasts a dull brown backdrop that does nothing for the acoustics, and the seats are threadbare punishers that would be more at home in a Puritan church. The groaning of the HVAC system (or it could be the plumbing?) is a constant background distraction. It's time for Rio Nuevo and the City Council to partner up with the private sector and rectify this ear- and eyesore. Tucson simply deserves better. read more

After years with an outdated sound system, it's been redone and you can hear very well in the balcony. Seats are very comfortable.

If you're one minute late they won't let you in until intermission. "No cell phones" If they see you looking at a cell phone during the performance they'll ask/force you to step-out and possibly kick you out. A while ago they were putting everybody's cellphones into cubbies/lockers just to get in and the line was a mile long. read more

Although a bit dated and worn, this is a very nice venue for off Broadway or touring productions. I'm a bit miffed about the Customer Service, though. A few days ago I e-mailed the GM with a fairly important question with no answer. The following days I followed up with several calls to different offices listed on their website with answering machine service only. Must be an on-going Staff meeting or everybody is on vacation at the same time! Whatever, it is PPCS (Piss Poor Customer Service). read more

We came here for the Arizona Opera production of The Flying Dutchman. We won tickets through Yelp (thank you Bella!), which should have been at Will Call, but when we arrived they were unable to find them for us. They were so nice about it and sent us to the Guest Service Manager who was apologetic and sorted us out with a choice of some really nice seats. He went out of his way to accommodate us- we were so happy with his efforts. Really impressive customer service. The show was wonderful- beautiful staging, wonderful artists and a stellar orchestra. The show is set using only one scene, which was interesting. The orchestra actually sat mid-stage with actors on the sides and in front which was a really neat affect. The entire production was lovely. It was pretty cold that evening and they had the heat on fairly high in the hall which made us a bit sleepy...nice music...warm seats..haha we managed to stay awake though :) Parking can be found on the street- metered parking is free after 5- save the money on the parking garage and scout out street parking in the area. read more

Not our first visit to this venue, but it's about time for a Yelp review. This visit, we saw Celtic Women. Located in the Tucson Convention Center, this performance venue is one of the two large downtown theaters and one of the 3 spaces in TCC. The other large theatre venue being Centennial Hall on the UA campus. The TCC was built in the early 70's, so it has that 60's/70's public institution vibe. From the audience perspective, sight lines are good from most seats and the acoustics are decent. The lobby and rest rooms provide easy access and decent people flow. Parking is problematical when the other TCC spaces are also in use. It's a serviceable facility. read more

From dance recitals to graduations to concerts, this venue is versatile. I've performed on stage and worked backstage before for events at various stages in my lifetime. The facilities are dated and need a facelift. It can accommodate large audiences, but don't expect anything too special. Depending on the event, parking can be a headache. Don't forget to factor in extra time for parking and walking to the Music Hall. read more

Built in 1971, the earth tone decor hasn't changed much, but reflects the relaxed approach to formality that is Tucson. It boasts a large stage, orchestra pit elevator, and good acoustics.
