DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUILDER. NO NO NO. The home we purchased is fine. It was a spec home, so we didn't get to chose the colors/etc. That was last June. They were all kinds of accommodating before the close. They have an extensive warranty and make a big show of all the things they cover. That's where the happiness ends. It took 4 months to get them to put rock down to prevent erosion around our driveway. They kept acting like I was just an ignorant woman who didn't know enough to pay attention to. At the year mark, they are supposed to have nail pops fixed and painted. They walked through with me in May, I marked everything with painters tape. Now it's November. The dry wall folks showed up a couple of weeks ago. Today the painters were supposed to come. I texted the maintenance person who told me they were called away to a more pressing problem. He apparently didn't think my time was important enough to let me know of the change and doesn't think that waiting 6 months for repairs is unreasonable. That's not to mention that we discussed a few other things that needed fixing and now they have amnesia. When they were reminded of our conversation, they blamed me saying these "problems" were surely because I did something wrong. I clearly took the irrigation hoses out of the dirt so they weren't providing water to the trees that subsequently died. I clearly caused some of the stucco to fall off of the corners. I obviously broke the electrical panel door. I most certainly do not know how to operate a garbage disposal. I'm just a dumb woman, what would I know. I tell you what I am. Sick and tired of being nice and understanding about their delaying tactics and am making the only move I can: a bad review. Let's see if that gets anything done. read more

I wish I could post a negative rating. We got suckered in because of the design of our house which is very appealing but, words fail to relay our disgust with the atrocious workmanship in it's construction. As another commenter pointed out- there is no one inspecting the work done by sub-contractors. No accountability. Absolutely no concern with craftsmanship at all. (or even the littlest bit of care) The order in which the build took place is insane. Carpets were installed before the rooms were painted (the carpets are a mess). Baseboards installed before the flooring (we have gaps where the floor doesn't meet the wall). The baseboards are severely chipped, cracked, not level, etc. There is grout smeared all over the baseboards. Globs of dry wall mud splattered everywhere which was painted over. (That seems to be Fairfield's remedy for everything...just paint over it). Light fixtures that don't align with the holes in the drywall. The floor is not level. The windows aren't square ( They don't operate properly) The walls aren't plumb or square. The doors don't open/close properly. (Door jams aren't square) The outside stucco is terribly cracked and falling apart. (the house is a little over a year old) Light fixtures are bent and dented. Defects in the windows. Over spray all over the windows which is nearly impossible to remove. Grout is falling apart. Again, as other commenters recommend: WALK AWAY. Don't be seduced by the design and nice staging at the models. Trying to get repairs done by Fairfield is a joke. We are sitting on a million dollar plus pile of absolute crap. read more

Run, don't walk away from this builder! As GC, Fairfield Homes does not supervise nor inspect the work done by their sub-contractors. If you do build with them, plan on a year of spending the hours of 8-12 or 1-4 babysitting the completion of your home. Three times subs did not show up for appointments. Knock on doors and chat with the neighbors before you sign a contract with them. There are plenty in Solterra who are dissatisfied customers. read more

Almost everything about out home was done poorly. At walk through prior to closing, house was not properly landscaped and had broken doors as well as numerous pieces of defective glass inside house. House had irrigation system but it was not set up to actually water landscaping. House next door was under construction and workmen continuously threw debris on to our property. We have complained to them a number of times and they always say they'll do it right away and it never gets done. In November, before Thanksgiving, the microwave gave out. They gave us runaround to contact warrantyfairfiledhomes.com. They said they would take care of it but after another ten day, told us to contact manufacturer. Manufacturer couldn't give us an appointment until 12/19! What could have happened to a six month old appliance? The representative took microwave out of wall. The microwave was improperly installed. Fairfield had marked wall where cutout should have been, but never bothered to vent unit! It's cheaper to not vent unit so they didn't! It caused magnetron and thermostat to fail. We really regret having bought this home because builder does really poor work and it's like pulling teeth to get them to fix thing. For example, they installed a defective shower door-defect was obvious to naked eye. Three times they sent someone out to try and clean door. Every workman they sent out said the door was defective and had to be replaced. It has been scheduled to be to be replaced five times! Three times it was cancelled and twice they just didn't show leaving us waiting all day. Staff here doesn't to job and acts very rudely. They then claim you lie and that you were yelling and screaming at them! Then they slander you! It may look nice but take my advice and don't buy from this builder. Buy elsewhere from a reputable builder and save your self tons of aggravation! read more

If there was a negative rating, I'd give it. They have a "pastor" who is a salesman for the company. My 82 year old father moved to Arizona with faith that he would find a home. He told the salesman he was 99.9% sure he would buy the house that would be completed by October. He wanted to check on living arrangements. He was with his real estate agent who offered to write up the contract and the salesman told him there wasn't a need that he'd "hold it" for him. They set up a time today to get the contract under way. Then he gets a text saying there's no need, the house has been sold. The salesman's boss was there today, in-person or by phone, and chastised my father's real estate agent telling her she should've known better and should've had a contract written. Fairfield builders in Green Valley Arizona are a bunch of liars. Walk away. Don't even visit their model homes. read more

BUYER BEWARE ... There is not scale negative enough to provide the proper feedback on this horrible company. I will suffice it to say that every negative thing you can find on the company is true and then some. Starting with the owner down, they are dishonest, lie to your face even when you catch them, blame all of their issues on their suppliers or even better you, attempt to overcharge unless you are all over the financials, unable to communicate effectively either within their small office or outside their walls. As the General Contractor, Fairfield has 100% responsibility for all suppliers/contractors and the quality of their work, suppliers beware - they openly blame you by name. I have spent hundreds of hours checking and double checking their paperwork to find massive mistakes, consistent lack of ownership, accountability and quite frankly give a crap. Fairfield is very quick to state mistakes happen, sure they happen but the rate of mistakes by Fairfield is pure negligence, after all as the GC it is their responsibility. The Super appeared to be nothing more than the person that opened and closed the doors at night, and even then many times the house was left front door open overnight, as many items in the house were not built correctly, to the print and contract or missing and I had to find them and point them out and they are still not fixed after many months. My track home that I paid 1/10th of the price had higher quality than Fairfield builds. While building this house Fairfields representative stated that it was better to not provide me information after it was agreed to provide regular details. I highly recommend that you pass up this builder as their practices are at best unethical. read more
