We stayed for one night on our way back home from our spring break location. We got a great rate when booking online so it was a no brainer to take it. Approaching the hotel, it was looking a bit dated and dirty. The exterior could definitely use a good power washing. But don't let the outside deter you from staying here. I had checked-in online, via their app. All I needed to do was go to the front desk, show my ID and grab my keys. Very easy! The man at the front desk was very kind and helpful. Our room was on the third floor, all the way to one end. We took the elevators only when bringing things in and then back out. Otherwise, the stairs were very easy to use and were carpeted. No echoing as you went up/down them. The room was nicely decorated and cleaned well. The beds were comfortable. No complaints on the room. Breakfast had many options for it being during a pandemic. Bagels, oatmeal, muffins, danishes, yogurt, burritos, fruit, cereals, etc. The man at the front desk seemed to be doing that and breakfast. He was super friendly, greeting everyone and asking how they were doing. But I could tell he was stretched thin. The pool was very small. We wanted to swim with our kids but there were already three families in it totaling about 10 in the pool. No way would we have fit even without a pandemic. Mask wear: All staff were properly wearing masks. Signs were posted throughout the hotel about required mask wearing and social distancing. I'd say 98% of guests I saw, who were not sitting eating breakfast, were wearing masks. There were also hand sanitizer stations throughout the hotel. read more

I wanted to give them 5 Stars....will give all the positives first... Breakfast was pretty legit with the variety of choices! (+) Room was spacious and clean (+) Hotel was easy to find and check in was smooth... However I am beginning to think details of a reservation is just overlooked now days. In town for a funeral ..check in was phenomenal the staff member Jordan was super awesome and got us swiftly checked in! (+) Request for down free pillows on every reservation as it's on my Profile for every stay..... Went unrecognized and you guessed it. Feather pillows upon checking them before sleeping. Next stop could have been the hospital...but I don't think they care to recognize that small request. If in the area again I will look to different hotel maybe even different hotel chain even though I am a rewards member. Room was not ready when we arrived, the pullout bed mattress was thin and very uncomfortable. On top of that when I handed the lady my card she told me my total was 190. My statement today says 241. I'll definitely be staying elsewhere next time read more

They are "packing" their reviews. This hotel is over 40 years old and is beyond a dump. 4.3? What? I would not stay here again because: -The hotel lied. When I asked if it's possible to check in at 1030AM, they said, "All of our rooms are dirty." How is this true if the previous night, my room type was available for booking? -Took 3 tries to return to front desk before my room key would work. -My preferences are away from elevator and ice machine. Where's my room? The first floor! -Someone else's hair in the shower and a HUGE crack on the shower wall. Hopefully I don't get charged. I suppose the only good thing is the free breakfast. It's nothing stellar but at least there's hot powdered eggs, overcooked sausage (plastic knife provided won't cut through), and a couple of waffle makers. Bananas were tossed into the bowl as if they're dice. I should note the Marriott rewards program is terrible for earning points. After staying 25 nights, I have less than 32,000 points. The cheapest room using points I've seen is 20,000 points. I think I'll return to Hilton after achieving platinum status! This was my first stay at this Fairfield Inn location. Upon my arrival I had issues at check-in due to something wrong with the check-in computer system or front desk attendant's operation of the computer system. She informed me that I needed to call my credit card company to verify this purchase, she also told this to the person that tried to check-in while I was calling my credit card company, after of 5 minutes of being on hold with my credit card company, she informed me and the other customer that our cards started working (which was odd). When the operator for my credit card came on the line, she told me there was no issue with my card. This process delayed me from getting to my room for approximately 20 minutes after my arrival. From 11pm through the am hours there were patrons standing directly outside of the hotel, being very loud and could be heard from the second floor. The grab and go breakfast was sparse and had very few food choices. Overall, the hotel was modern and clean, but the previous mentioned incidents detracted from what could have been a great stay. read more

Top notch hotel!! I'm very happy with my stay here. First of all, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone from housekeeping to front desk and managers go out of their way to be accommodating. The hotel was updated recently and everything has a nice layout and cleanliness. The beds are super comfortable and the rooms are clean. For a mid level hotel, this place is fantastic. It located in a quiet corner, yet is surrounded with anything your heart could desire. Tip: I downloaded and created an account in the Bonvoy Marriot app and the deals that I found blew my AAA discount out of the water. read more

This gets one star for the bed being comfortable and one star for the breakfast being quite tasty and ample each morning. But I'm certainly being generous considering there was a large bug in our bathroom, the place was filthy, and we were repeatedly given down pillows instead of the non-feather pillows we had ahead of time in our guest profile and asked for twice at the front desk. Pretty impressed with this hotel. Great value for the money. We booked online and it was a breeze. They also gave us a free Simon & Schuster audiobook- weird and random, but cool! Very clean, nicely decorated rooms. The couch was in need of some repair, however, and the pillows were uncomfortably soft. I need to just start carrying a pillow with me, because I'm picky. Staff was super nice, and got some late New Year's Eve revelers to turn down their music, which was nice. Decent free breakfast in the morning, but nothing exceptional. read more

Stayed here for a few days on business. The staff are very welcoming, friendly, and had great recommendations for restaurants. The bar, when open, had great service and a decent selection. The hotel was clean and nicely decorated. The rooms were modern, Comfortable, and had very comfortable beds and pillows. My room was clean, exceptionally quiet, and had a decent view of the sunsets. The breakfast was decent for your typical continental. Overall a great hotel, and one I would definitely stay again if need be. The one con- no Microwave or fridge in the room. Sucks! This is a nice hotel in Overland Park. The rooms are spacious, neat and well maintained; each has room has an extensive cable offering, an iPod dock, mini fridge and a wall thermostat, which I appreciate. There is also a small bar offering drinks from 5 to 10 PM and a continental breakfast from 6 to 9 AM. The gym is small, but adequate, although the thermostat is locked and kept too high in my opinion, but it does face the indoor pool/hot tub area, which is nice. The best thing about this place is the employees. They rock! Lots of regulars stay here, so they are extra attentive and friendly. I was stranded at the hotel without a car (and all my colleagues left town) and an employee offered to pick up my dinner from a local hotel. Super nice, right? If the crowd is right, the bar may stay open a little later. Very cool atmosphere and the guests are also cool, which made for a great stay. Conveniently located near some good restaurants (if you have a car) and an outdoor mall, this is a good hotel to rest your head. read more

Great value for the $ you pay for your stay here. What makes this place a pleasure to stay is the STAFF! They go great lengths to ensure all your requests and concerns are taken care of. A bunch of us checked-in on a weekday late at night and sat at the lobby for a few hours to do some work. The lady at the check-in made fresh coffee for us and made sure we didn't need anything else. Next day in the evening once we were back at the hotel and discussing the proceedings of the day, another staff noticed us sitting at the lounge and brought us cookies :-)) The rooms are quite comfortable and well laid out, thanks to the recent renovation. They have a small pool and fitness room for the health freaks, and small patio at the back for the Cigar aficionados. Breakfast in the morning is a little better than continental as they serve some Biscuits/Gravy and Jimmy Dean sandwiches. This location is very close to highways making it easily accessible. Only negatives for me are the slow elevators and stained carpets inside the elevators. read more

Shower head already broken when we got there. It took an hour to fix. And the shampoo was old and jello-ie. And so than the tiles on the floor are moldy and gross. But they gave us a handicap room when we're not even close to elderly. read more

Good location, older hotel. Clean room, good AC, friendly front desk accommodating our requests at 10 pm check-in. Be aware that masks are required in public areas, signs are posted everywhere. But, this morning I walked into a full lobby. Groups of travelers waiting to checkout and in the adjacent "business area" on the printers, and not a mask in sight. Hold your breath, walk fast and don't touch anything because the social distancing and mask rules are not enforced. read more

Ron the front desk associate was very kind and helpful. I was upgraded to the executive suite which is just a room with a living room area and mini fridge with a microwave. The room was clean but a little dated. The living area sofas are worn and dirty looking. I am not worried about it because I normally throw my luggage on top of it and keep going. I don't sit or relax on the sofas without layering it with sheets. I can deal with it during this stay. I went down to look at the pool and the water was the cloudiest I've ever seen for a pool. I know there's chlorine in it because I can smell it but the water was too cloudy and I'm not comfortable with that. The gym is nice though! The 3 stars is for the service I received from Ron. This hotel would be okay if they upgraded the rooms a bit more and replace the worn mattresses. For a Marriott, they don't accept pets but with the look of the living furniture, they might as well. Great suite, comfy bed, decent rate, friendly service. Our only regret is we were in and out too quickly to really enjoy it all. Driving CO to VA and we just needed a place to crash. Jordan was at the front desk and did a great job welcoming us. The room was fresh, clean and large. We will definitely stay here again if we are traveling through. Given our highly restrictive diet we did not experience the breakfast but that was simply our choice (we carry special high protein oatmeal with us). Great job Fairfield!! read more
