HHA is a good practice, and I think they do an overall great job. One thing I really like is that their records are computerized and when I walk out, I have a printed order I can read instead of a hand-written order that I can't make sense of. The nurses are pleasant and do a great job listening as you explain why you're there. Even the wait isn't usually bad - my last doctor you could wait 1-1.5 hours after your appointment time to see the doctor - here, it's usually less than 15 minutes if they are running behind. My only real issue has been the office staff. The response is short sometimes and follow-through can be a little slow if you're trying to get ahold of your doctor by phone. It's not a big deal, but it can be really inconvenient. Net result, I highly recommend the practice and encourage you to check them out.

Dr Stan never rushes you out the door and looks you in the eye the entire visit. Sometimes, there is a wait to be seen, but that is because he gives individual attention to each patient. they have a lab, X-ray, and various other equipment in the office as well, so saves a lot of time. Even my doc was very personable and engaging. Abby in the lab is a real jewel: compassionate and skillful. So glad to have them as my health providers.

That's probably mostly because it's a pain in the ass to find a new family physician though... As a teenager, I had frequent bouts of strep throat, but never the kind that was detected by the rapid swab tests. Even though this became apparent rather quickly, I can't tell you the number of times I had to make numerous trips to Dr. Farber's office when my rapid tests would come back negative and he would tell me it wasn't strep, yet a few days later, the symptoms persisted. I will give their office props for one thing, though: Shortly after I graduated college and was unemployed with no health insurance, I broke my foot. Since I was an established patient at the office, they worked with me to charge me a minimal amount for my visit and they also worked out a deal with the imaging center where I had my x-ray. I was so grateful not to have to worry about being able to afford getting care for my foot and they took excellent care of me. So, while he might not be the sharpest crayon in the medical box, Dr. Farber is a great guy, and he does look out for his patients.

Ms. Houser demonstrates a lack of empathy for patients with Mental Health conditions. Ms. Houser…read moretold me that I should "get over" what happened to me. Ms. Houser would benefit from training in continuity of care. My primary doctor and I had a treatment plan that we had been executing for four years. Ms. Houser wanted to change that without having spoken to me. That is the opposite of continuity of care. Ms. Houser would also benefit from re-training as a medical care provider. In my brief interaction with her, she ruined the reputation of the family practice I had been attending for more than 15 years. It is unfortunate that my primary doctor retired. Even though Ms. Houser works in the same office, she did not review the previous doctor's lengthy history of managing my mental health condition. Seek medical help from another professional. Ms. Houser does not have the empathy to be in medicine.
