My fiancée came here in December to get a strep test with the understanding that it was an urgent care facility. Her insurance was then billed for an emergency room visit since this operates under the umbrella of Bridgeport Hospital, even though all she got was a strep and Covid test. Disappointed that this wasn't shared up front and seems somewhat fraudulent to not make it clear you are operating as an "emergency room". read more

Please note, this is not an urgent care as indicated as the name of the place. They are affiliated with Bridgeport hospital so any urgent visit will be treated and charged as emergency room visit. I have never been there for any treatment that's why I give 3 stars. But my question is if they are treating each visit as ER, I can just go straight to the hospitals nearby. They have more doctors and and resources. Btw, ER is 24/7, they close at 8pm. So be aware next time you visit. read more

This was my first time visiting a walk-in urgent care center, and I have to say, my experience was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, making me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. The doctor was incredibly helpful, taking the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. They took us right away. But they are not equipped to handle kids. The doctor was short on patience and needed pediatric training. He didn't want to deal with a stressed out 8 year old kid who needed stitches and suggested SEDATION for some stitches and sent us off to ER. At the ER we waited 5+ hours, but did not require sedation and just 3 were stitches required. read more

Visited recently on a holiday, during a pandemic. There was a line, but it moved quickly, from registration, to being brought in to get tested. Everyone was very professional during these times which must be stressful. I commented on how busy they are, and was told they are seeing around 200 a day. Waited 45 minutes to be seen then treated very Poorly by doctor Gordon who was rude and dismissive. Make this option your last resort before ER. read more

I would never go enter this clinic again, never even if I am in dire emergency. Their staff are the worst; the most incompetent, the rudest, the most pathetic, and the cockiest and inhumane staff ever to exist in America. How awful that they are carrying the name Yale Health. Especially, the allied health staff--(not the nurses and doctors) the ones who just had a few educational courses such as their phlebotomists and radiologists---they are the ones who divert their "professional" lane into the "medical lane". Plus they don't have bedside manners. On my first time I went there, to see a doctor to prescribe me a stronger pain medicine because at that time of the visit, I was in so much excruciating terrible pain that I was crying so hard. My husband was with me to assist me. As soon as I told them my objective, the radiologist whose office was right in front of the front desk heard me , said that "they are not the ones giving pain medicine ," and she went on saying, "we don't do that". I asked if I could see a doctor to prescribe it, she told me, "there is no way that the doctor will prescribe me pain medicine because they don't do that." I could not believe what I just heard from her. She thought I was a dope -addict asking for my pain-medicine fix. She is a Caucasian woman in her early 30's to early 40's.. At that time, I did not know yet what was my condition and what was causing my shoulder bone pain and back bone pain. She just rolled down her eyes at me as if telling me to go away. I walked out bawling in tears because I felt so humiliated being treated like a drug addict together with my husband. Finally, through another doctor, I got to get a pain medication because actually I have cancer . I am not a drug addict. I have cancer of the blood plasma and bone marrow which causes me extremely severe pain that it takes help for me to get up from bed or car. The next time we got there, my oncologist ordered labwork immediately so we can start chemotherapy. But he gave the order on a Thursday afternoon, and I could not do it on a Friday. So I went on a Friday looking for a Yale -associated lab but most of them are closed that are near our area. So we decided to go back to that Fairfield Urgent Care Center again, thinking this time will be different since this is not about requesting for pain medicine or treatment. This time I will have bloodwork done. At first, it went smoothly. It was a tall black guy in scrubs whose ID badge I cannot read because it was all covered in stickers. This man is about mid 20's to early 30's. He first tried to do my Left arm but according to his expertise, he could not draw blood because my veins are small. I told him , "even if the veins are small, you could still get blood from it," Instead he pulled out the syringe, pushed it back in, pulled it out, pushed it back in again--doing this 6 times until I told him to stop. I told him I am a nurse and I can see that what he is doing is unacceptable. Trying not to get mad, I told him to try the other arm which he did---in the same manner, pushing the needle in, pulling it back, pushing the syringe in again, pulling it back again. I winced and cried in pain because it was actually hurting me. I was frustrated. He told me to come back another time because according to him I am yelling at him. I couldn't believe what he said that I am yelling at him, I explained to him that I yelled because of pain and hurt because I never had experience a phlebotomist doing this hurtful thing to me. I had done a lot of bloodwork in my life and never did I scream or yell in pain. I told him that his method was really hurting because he keeps pushing and pulling back the needle into the vein and skin. I said this order is urgent. I wouldn't want to come back to do this again and so we should finish it. Coming back is not going to be different. He refused at first to do it because he told me I was yelling. Finally, I told him to go back to my Left arm, I guided him and he did it successfully. And because he did not tell me he needed a lot of vials , I accidentally released the torniquet. So he did it again on my Right Arm to finish it.It was horrible---it was pathetic. I told him that I am a nurse and I am a certified phlebotomist too.So I know what he was doing and what he is doing is wrong plus the fact that he has no bedside manners. I told him that all the staff in your radiology department are awful. They don't have bedside manners, they don't understand patients, they are incompetent and rude. I was still polite to him and I swear and my husband swear we would never go back to this facility again. Their staff are horrible....they can make you cry. read more

I would highly recommend that you steer clear of this place unless you have extremely good insurance! They charged me for an emergency room visit instead of an urgent care visit. So instead of paying $50 for the urgent care, I have to pay $175 for the emergency room. If I wanted to go to the emergency room, I would have. VERY POOR MANAGEMENT! I absolutely love this place. I've been here two or three times in the past year and they always take me within 15-20 minutes which is great compared to most walk ins. Dr Rao is extremely attentive to his patients and is super funny. I was in a lot of pain when I came into the office with a sprained ankle and he made sure to have the nurse see me right away. When he came into the office he made me laugh and assured me that I would be ok. He even gave me an ankle wrap and ice packs so I didn't have to stop at CVS. I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs emergency care. read more

I have been to the clinic three times. I. I never waited longer than 10 minutes 2. The facility is clean and orderly 3. Most importantly, the staff is excellent I have seen Doctor Custer 3 times. The last time I needed to see a doctor, I actually saw him rather than make an appointment with my primary care doctor. The receptionist is very efficient and friendly. The 2 nurses I have seen have been competent and professional. I recommend this clinic read more

Came in with a crying baby with a splinter toward the end of the day.. after admitting, the doctor and the staff did not treat my granddaughter.. said go to Bridgeport Hospital.. While we were gathering our things the doctor ran out to the parking lot.. followed by the rest of the staff. My granddaughter was treated by her regular physician when she got home a few days later. read more

Usually I find this place very friendly and efficient. However today there were several people in the waiting room, but no sign-in list. The person at the desk told me to wait and she would call me when they were ready. I asked how she knew who was next. She said she just knew. They have numbers at a deli counter, why not here? I went in with a sore and locked jaw. Dr. Rao gave me zero information as to what my conditions was, In fact, he barely spoke to me. Instead he gave 2 prescriptions of pain killers (many of which I still have as they were largely useless in treating my condition) and sent me on my way. I was not given an adequate diagnosis by the doctor Sanjeev Rao. In fact, I was given an incorrect diagnosis: "JAW PAIN, NON -TMJ" (this is all that was written on the chart). However, I was indeed diagnosed with and treated for TMJ by another doctor of Fairfield the following day. The worst part: I was charged close $500 for this 10 minute visit. This is an outrageous and exorbitant amount especially when compared to what other walk-in clinics in the area charge. I was never informed that I would be charged this excessive amount. I did not sign any paperwork reflecting this fee nor would I agree to be overcharged in this fashion. They only told me it was an "emergency room" visit. This charge is approximately $400 more than previous visits I have had to other walk-in clinics in Fairfield. read more

I came to this urgent care because I had severe poison Ivy. Non-life threatening but painful and uncomfortable. I went in the morning and the wait was long so I spoke to the receptionist regarding when they close . She was less than friendly. I decided to leave and returned later in the day when it would hopefully be less busy. It appeared to be and I signed in. I was called by the receptionist who was again not friendly and seemed to want to rush me becasue it was 4:30 and they close at 5pm. I left. Companies need to follow up with the people they hire for their front desk. Especially in an environment where people are there because they do not feel well; it would be nice to encounter friendlier receptionist. read more

Same bad experience as the other review - this place is horrible. Came here in January after injuring myself. I waited almost an hour to see Dr. Gordon who spent all of two minutes dismissing me. Took one look at my toe and said if it got worse I could come back but there's nothing he could do that day. I asked him if he could puncture the nail to relieve pressure and he refused. I had dropped a 40lb weight directly onto the toe and was worried I would lose the nail since it immediately turned blue and the swelling wouldn't stop. He just restated that if it was bad the next day I could come back and he could do the procedure then. I realize it wasn't a critical injury but he couldn't have been more rude or disrespectful. My husband was in the exam room and he more or less talked over me and directed conversation at him. Now three months later I finally receive a bill of $200 for his "time". What a joke. Save yourself complete aggravation and seek a real professional. read more
