I originally met a group from this church at a community event where they had a booth set up. I am not Methodist (I am Baptist), but for some reason I was just drawn to them. They were bubbly, friendly, and so outgoing. I took their information, and went on my way. But for 2 weeks I could NOT stop thinking about that group I met. So finally, I said well...I'll just visit. See what they're all about. I have never felt more welcome at a church than I did this morning at Christ United Methodist. They are ultra low pressure, and are genuinely just happy you came. I've tried many different churches in the area, and have never had people go out of their way (and especially without me asking) to show me around and chat with me. After the service was over, the pastor took time to speak with me about some questions I had (as I really had no idea what Methodist was all about). I didn't feel like he was rushed or dumb for asking questions (on some heavy topics, I might add). He was very friendly, open to answering all my questions, and said he hoped he saw me again next week. This particular church is not progressive, but they're not ultra conservative either. Anyone from any walk of life will be eagerly welcomed, as the pastor says this church is simply "Jesus centered." I appreciated the warm, welcoming environment and friendly faces. I also enjoyed the more contemporary music from their band. They are a medium sized church, and offer the standard morning beverages (coffee/tea) in their kitchen area. It was a wonderful, refreshing experience, and I'll definitely go back!
