Dingy, dark, staff no sense of urgency in responding to resident requests. Nothing more to add. Was visiting the brother and of a friend.

The first night was not favorable, no staff greeted us and the person that first entered the room was solely focused on inventory of her belongings and not helping her into bed or other important firsts. However, much to my surprise, day 2 through 7 were much better. The nurses are very efficient and caring as well as the physical therapy and occupational therapy teams. One nurse, Wesley really stood out. Truly exceptional! My advice in general is visit your loved one often in this type of environment, but Harmony overall is a very good choice!

Multiple employees, including employees (CNAs, nurses) that have direct interaction and contact with residents. Many of whom are older folks who might be more susceptible to illnesses. I don't know, are there any of those going around in 2022? Can't be anything more than sniffles I suppose. One nurse in particular was kind of a jerk. I had to ask the nurse/nurse assistant to put her mask on since I'd seen her coming in without it. When someone asked her something--about how long something might take--her response was a kind of flippant, snotty "it takes however long it takes". I think the question was really more how far is it, is it crowded or whatnot, will I have to wait... to which she could have answered either without the biting tone or simply been a bit more kind.

Cathy was so helpful when she took my mom into the facility. I was a train wreck as a I saw my mother falling apart. Cathy was warm, caring and she reassured me that she would help me every step of the way. Christine the Director of Nursing was amazing. My mother was refusing food because she was paranoid. Christine made it her mission to get my mom to start eating. Christine sat with my mom every day when my mom's food tray was brought to her. Christine asked what my mother liked to eat and she tried to have the cooks make it for her. My mom is now eating little by little. All of the doctors and the nurses did everything that they could to help my mom. My mom is no longer hallucinating thanks to Dr. Schvartzman. All in all I would say the staff at Dobson are very caring. I want to give special thanks to Maxine, Larry and Albert for taking all my calls. Dobson Plaza is not a fancy place but it is a very warm and inviting place. I give it 5 stars for the care they provide. The four stars is because there are no private rooms or private showers for people in Memory Care.

The quality of care, the attention, the LOVE our mom received was beyond measure. We established incredibly close bonds with those who cared for her, knowing in our hearts, minds, and souls- she was constantly surrounded, on every shift, by people who loved Gussie the way we loved Gussie. We are forever indebted, and forever grateful, for their care.

We pursued a room change but she ended up liking her roommate so stayed put. 1. Staff: Obviously there are not enough of them. I got attention when requested. Some people that work there genuinely care for the patients and they were a bright spot in these folks days. Others come to work to just do their job and that's fine as well. No one was awful or mean and for that we are grateful! It's an incredibly hard job and shout out to Nursing Home employees for being so dedicated! The Administrator: chatted with me to find areas for improvement The Case Manager/Social Worker: the best! Overworked, does his job, concerned, helpful. Checking in regularly and setting up her therapies for discharge. Called me for a group meeting one afternoon with all therapists and my mom on a conference call. 2. Never did get a schedule for PT/OT. I think there are corners being cut to maximize profits here. Absolutely should have more OT/PT for people to feel human. Quicker progress would be noticed if OT/PT were consistent 5-10 times a week. The random therapy sessions would catch my mom off guard every single time and took place around 7pm. Besides, everyone benefits from a schedule! 3. Meals were as expected. Everything is beige and so much gravy. Maybe this is another area where quality is traded for profit because I didn't see one single fresh item in 2 weeks. I brought fruits, and salad to aim for some nutritional balance (fiber? vitamins? anyone??). My mom sent most of the food back and thought of it as another reason to get better and go home. 4. Shower days - skipped over if the RNs were too busy, so patients can go a week without a shower and that is not right. 5. It's a huge bummer on your senses. Visually: it's devoid of color and could use a good wash (too many skipped shower days!). The Air: so unpleasant. Please consider a purifier and a working AC unit for the hallway (the employees were literally dripping sweat one warm day and that is no way to treat employees). My mom's takeaway: there is nothing uplifting and quality of life is non-existent in this nursing home. Overall she was motivated to go home. I don't think she's recovered necessarily, but she will have to do the hard work of getting better in the comfort of her own space because what is the point of laying around there when she can do the same at home?

We recently had a terrible experience with our mother; she was admitted for a four-week stay, but we removed her the very next day because she did not receive the services for which the hospital had referred her. She required continuous intravenous treatment that was never administered. She also had a Stage 4 sacral wound requiring specialized care--the reason we chose this facility, as they specialize in chronic wound management. However, instructions regarding the gauze were not followed correctly, causing the wound to open further, and fecal matter was found inside the wound. The staff was quite aggressive, and she received no help with personal hygiene; we had to ask for cleaning supplies to wash her ourselves and call 911 to get her out, as the facility refused to allow the ambulance entry, claiming it wasn't an emergency. We had to involve the police to make it happen. The facility itself isn't bad, but the nursing staff is terrible--with the exception of Daniel, the nurse who was the only one to show empathy regarding our mother's situation.
