My mother was a resident at this facility for about four years. The facility itself is clean and attractive. Some of the staff are also pretty helpful and friendly. If you are independent and able to perform activities of daily living without assistance, it's a pretty good place. But watch out, if you need assistance with toileting. Many a times, I've found my mother soaking wet and soiled. When this is brought to the attention of the management, they tell you that there is a policy to make sure that toileting needs are taken care of every two hours and you see a temporary improvement. But, it is just that - it is temporary. There is lack of adequate oversight and there seems to be a constant shortage of CNAs and some of the CNAs are not responsive or responsible. Cafeteria food is not good. Like today it was supposed to be check with Maria sauce instead I got chicken with Mariana sauce and another piece of meat. I don't even know what it was. This place has the worst people in administratio. They're all lazy and don't do their jobs. When you go to them to problem solve issues they act like it's a huge inconvenience. A lot of them are stuck up, rude and unprofessional -- I don't know how any of them got their position. Especially the HR person Aurora. She's the worst person for that role: she looks down her nose at anyone that isn't admin or medical staff (doctor or nurse or the state). Not a people person at all. This is the typical nursing home that doesn't care about people. I rescued my dad after 5 hours, when they didn't address his pain and lied about him "Sleeping". My uncle was in this facility for only one week after he had a stroke, but the service was terrible. We found him dirty (diaper) every time we visited. They did not pay any attention to him. I was never able to reach them over the phone because they never answered it. I will not recommend this place to anyone who who cares about the love ones. Here is the good. Although initially I thought this was a nice place. No.medicare rating issues. They accepted a patient with Covid . Many homes do not. The public areas ( where visits were only allowed) were clean, nice and up to date.Niice garden view through glass in the public areal The bad is visits were 30 minutes and we were advised to stay 6 feet away. Far ftom ideal. She started using hand signals since we could not hear her.Also nearly every time had to wait despite having an appointment as required. Once outside for 40 minutes.Only saw the public area. Never saw her room or any other space. This was after her CoVid was over! And the patient and I were fully vaccinated. And masks were also required. They never loosened their policy despite changes from the city. Communication is totally lacking.And phone system is not functioning and not being addressed. It took 6weeks to talk to a dietician regarding the meal plan. Nurses did not know what she was being fed No one returns your calls. After feeling uncomfortable and having hospice recommended I sought another opinion. To discover she was being starved. She would not swallow and they did not provide protein drinks. After 6weeks the dietician was going to add this. What were they was waiting for? They incorrectly told me she developed a bed sore. It was not, but needed to be treated with antibiotics. It then cleared up. Lastly still unsure what happened to her shoes and pants that matched her jacket. She is doing incrediby better at another home. Not recommended. read more

Whew! Horrible experience and communication from Ilana, Cassie & Brian Gallagher in admissions. A lot of spoken promises that were lies. I have submitted a complaint with the IL Department of Aging to investigate neglect and reported elderly physical mistreatment. Clothes and personal belongs were missing and not returned after laundry services. Additionally, make sure that your loved one has a face covering because this facility rarely provides them to the individuals during their stay. read more

Not to be confused with the Fairmont hotel chain, this is a hospice and health center for the terminally ill and the elderly. This is definitely not a place you would want to visit, since that means someone you care about is probably at the end of the line. The complex looks fairly neat and clean, not like those horrible nursing homes you see on investigative news reports. read more

I regret from the bottom of my heart that my family chose this facility for our parent. They are irresponsible, taking substandard precautions for patients. My parent got C Diff here--that happens when people fail to do basic things like not washing their hands! We have tried several times to speak with our parent during COVID, and despite what they say, the staff can not figure out the technology. They are about to endanger the entire staff by allowing their facility to be used for handling surplus covid patients. Look ANY WHERE else. Please. read more

My mother-in-law and her daughter have both been there for several years and they have received excellent care. But I'm just now writing this because mom just died after several weeks in hospice care. The hospice care team (Heritage Hospice) they use also took great care of mom. I've seen bad reports about many homes; but I've never seen a good report; so I just want to report that this place is excellent. read more

DO NOT!!! I REPEAT! DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS FACILITY! PLEASE READ THIS! My loved one went in to rehab a broken arm and was SEVERELY NEGLECTED. My loved one had three wounds on their backside that were deep and are still healing today. My loved one also was left alone and WAS NOT turned as elderly people should to avoid bed sores. To make matters worse, my loved one is still suffering from the wounds on both feet. I regret, regret, regret and need to forgive myself for placing my loved one at this place. NO HUMAN SHOULD EVER BE MISTREATED like any of the reviews I am writing and just read. Shame on this place for their inexcusable actions. I also had to call the Health Department to make them clean the mold out of the ice machines. Some of the staff used covid as an excuse to take advantage of the system and neglect our loved ones. My mom stayed there for two months. To many basic needs issues!!! Every place will have issues but we had too many...everyday. One late night after mom was approved to walk to the bathroom with escort (not assistance) the CNA, after the help button was pressed for an hour, came in with attitude, said I don't have time for this, stripped off her bottoms and pull ups, stuff a bedpan under her, came back a half hour later, took out the bedpan, did not dress her bottom half and left. OMG. Basic hygiene is not a priority as in every other nursing home. On a scheduled day for a shower, we inquired first thing in the morning as a reminder. Then three other times. then at four pm we said tell us right now when. they said oh that person went home for the day. The next morning we started at 7am inquiring. Stating it is not scheduled, it was miss yesterday, we are not requesting we are stating it must be done. At 3pm mom said to the nurse, can I please, at least get my hair washed it's been a week. the nurse closed her computer, locked her drug cabinet(cart), took her to a big bathroom, did her hair and bathed her. it took less than 20 minutes. She was grateful! You don't even get water everyday like in EVERY other hospital and nursing home!!! These are just three examples of true testimonial. Mom has many. Each of mom's three kids who were there 24/7 each have dozens of stories. Of coarse there are many commendable people in each field and they fed us all well every day. I called in to get some details for my grandmother. I've never done this before so I wasn't sure where to start or who to talk to. I explained to the lady who answered the phone that I wasn't sure where to start, but that I would like to transfer my grandma to a different nursing home and was calling around to get details. She responded with, "uh do you want to talk to admissions?" I told her, sure, since it seemed like a logical starting point. As she was transferring me (she thought I couldn't hear or maybe didn't care), said to herself, "UGHHH oh my god". My Father has been there over 2 years The enviorment is clean and nicely decorated The nurses and staff are friendly My Father can not speak or write due to a stroke but I visit often and I don't really have any complaints. I investigated Fairmont when I needed rehab care for my relative. A friend recommended it to me after her father stayed there. She was very pleased with it and thought he received excellent care and therapy. Before I went there I did some on-line research and found out it is a 5 star rated nursing home from Medicare. I took a tour. Everything was very clean, attractive and modern. They recently added on a whole new section of beautiful rooms which made a huge impression. Their therapy area is phenomenal! That was also a new addition to their building and they left nothing out. It was really impressive! Their therapy staff and other staff members I spoke with were professional and thorough. I really had a great tour and left with an excellent feeling about the community and bringing my relative here. read more

My girlfriend spent a month here in 2016 in the short-term rehab section. This area of the facility is physically first rate - especially the physical therapy gym which was new. The nursing staff was excellent. The food selection was also solid. The administrative team completely bungled the insurance coverage submissions and cost us tons of aggravation as they largely were unaccountable and very unresponsive. My friend's grandmother was a resident in this facility. I could tell the activity director did his homework. There were plenty of activities such as karaoke singing, cooking class, movies and bus trips which according to some residents I spoke with, they visited places they did not know existed. They had a newsletter which was informative and featured some articles of residents. The movie review was very good. According to my friend, the activity director resigned abruptly and the activities were never the same again. Gone also was the newsletter. read more
