I was a caller making plans on behalf of a friend, who needed to plug in for a few days while visiting me in Tucson. Experience tells me, that as a business owner, I'm just as much a customer by making the phone call, particularly, when I'm sending Rhonda a paying customer. My review may not mean much to the masses, but I know that the Good Sam Club cares about matters like this because such behavior reflects poorly on them. As an individual, I'm a man of principal, and will air my concerns when a public platform provides me the opportunity. Inside the lounge, there is coffee in the mornings and there is also a game room with a pool table and other activities! There is also a large weight room full of different equipment. We were fairly new full time RVers and picked this park because of all the amenities. We recently learned pickleball and they have many courts and skill levels. And offered classes to improve your skills. If you like crafts there were a variety of classes available for a fee. Jewelry making to ceramics and woodworking. There are multiples pools and hot tubs, scuffle board. Although the park is 55 plus park they do allow family to stay for short time. Our adults kids came to visit for a few days. The RVs were mainly in one area, although there were sites available between park models. The resort included regular homes, park models with that looked like homes and older metal standard looking ones. In the RV section there were other RVers like us that stayed from 2 to 6 months and traveled the rest of the time. We met some great people at the park through pickleball or neighbors that we still stay in touch with. The park itself has a restaurant and hotel. The restaurant was great fun on karaoke night to order food drinks and punish the crowd with our singing voices. During high season they offer concert series of musical performer and holiday parties. Outside the park there were all kinds of desert trails to hike or bike. I really enjoyed all that Tucson area had to offer. So many mountain biking and hiking trail. There were many interesting places close by to visit. Our 3rd winter I would have preferred going back here, however the elevation bothered my husband. The park is at around 2,800 feet. It wasn't perfect all the time, the park had a probably with their trash pickup. We happen to be unlucky enough to pick a site near the dumpster and it was over full often from others in the park who had trash pickup that forgot to put trash out or had large boxes. One our neighbors had to complain loudly before manager became involved and something was done about it. The park offered discounts to returning RVers if you signed up in advance.

Anyway, there are a lot of permanent homes, mobile homes and a fair number of RV's here. Most people seem to be here for long term stays, so it's pretty quiet. They have a really nice pool, hot tub (although that was indoors), and quite a few activities happening- even transport to different areas of town. The sites are well maintained, with hedges to give you privacy. They do have a palm tree on just about every site that may make backing in a bit difficult for larger rigs, but looks like most people figured it out :) Office staff were very friendly, we added an extra couple of days to our stay with no problem. Water/electric all functional. Really nice holiday decorations from the residents too. They have bocce ball and pickle ball courts too. The Mountain Views are stunning as well. There are many things to do around here too. This place is about 12 mins to the Saguaro National Park- excellent hiking and biking here- and a picnic lunch on a gorgeous December day in Arizona. The Pima flight museum is super close as well. If you get time, visit the Old Town Tucson Artisan Market (about 20 mins drive) for handmade crafts and such. They have a courtyard restaurant (with a resident turtle) that was really nice on a sunny day. Great change of scenery for us, and we will be back for a longer term stay.

NO ONE RETURNS ANY CONTACT AT ALL. How are you supposed to talk with anyone about the park? How are you supposed to apply? How are you supposed to tour the park? All attempted contact was utterly ignored, even when I made it clear I hoped to be a resident. Why the heck do they bother listing phone numbers and e-mail addresses when NO ONE WILL ANSWER OR RETURN CALLS/REPLIES? Absolutely no professionalism whatsoever, and clearly uninterested in welcoming people interested in living there. My advice to those potentially interested in Rincon East: DON'T BOTHER.

They have several upgrade options to some sites...a double deck patio, outdoor kitchen, fire place...choose the level you want! They also have sites that are covered, which is super deluxe. I did read a review that said the area was sketchy, but it felt very safe to us. I didn't see anything funky outside or inside the park. It did look like it's in an older section of town, but don't hesitate to stay here! We loved it.

Sneaky, deceitful. Undisclosed lock site fee…read more I stopped in the office to inquire about rates and availability. I was told March was $1,070 and April was $890. On a map they circled the sites that were available at that rate. I drove past them all, picked Site 331, went back to the office, and reserved it for March 1st through April 30th. They said I'd get a confirmation by email. Back home, I opened the confirmation email and it had a $250 lock site fee on it in addition to March and April site rent. Neither of the women behind the counter had ever said anything about any kind of lock site fee. Ever. They just quietly went about the business of circling sites on the map, suggesting I drive by them and pick one, booking the reservation, and sending me on my way. They said nothing when I first arrived and asked about availability, they said nothing when they handed me the map with the circled sites, they said nothing when I returned to the office to book the site, they said nothing when we completed the booking. The only time I ever learned anything about a lock site fee was after I had made my deposit, gone home, and received the email confirmation. This is a fee which they should have disclosed at the very beginning. It was a total shock and surprise to see it on the reservation confirmation. UPDATE: I sent a message about this to the front desk and heard nothing back, so I enlisted the help of the on-site real estate person who had shown me a park model that same day. Still no response from the front desk, no email, no phone call, no message, no explanation, no apology, just a computer-generated email from their reservation system with a revised guest folio PDF attached showing a "Site Lock Fee Waived" credit. How's that for customer engagement/service? Sheesh.

There are plenty of lounges, tables, chairs, umbrellas, two cabana beds, gas grills, very nice restrooms with showers, and a small sauna. Happy hours with free beer or wine with live entertainment at the pool twice a week during snowbird season. 5 nice pickleball courts, 4 newly covered pool tables with new cues, workout room, library with games, computers with internet, printing, and a TV. Our new manager Michael is a professional entertainer, and likes to preform tight shows in the beautiful ballroom. Our Activities director Valerie is very personable, and makes sure everything runs smoothly. There are plenty of activities, and many have food supplied by Cal Am at no charge! The location and size of the resort are very desirable.

General Hitchcock Campground is located just off the Catalina Highway. It's near mile marker 12 on…read morethe right side of the road just as you're heading up. The campground has a much more rustic feel to it than the ever popular Rose Canyon, and it is wheelchair accessible. Situated along a sandy and rocky streambed in upper Bear Canyon, the campground is among ponderosa pines, junipers and oaks. Lots and lots and lots of trees! Elevation is about 6,000 feet. On this summer visit, the temperatures were mild, granted the monsoon did move in a big way, which helped to drive temperatures down to the 80s. Overnight temperatures were in the low 60s. Definitely plan to pack a light sweater just in case. Also, the ground tends to be covered with leaves, making it soft. It is quite the picturesque site. There are 11 sites on location and from what I could tell all of them are under heavy shade. Each site has a table, fire pit, grill and their locker. There is no drinking water here, but there are vault toilets. Also no trash dump up so pack in and pack out. Some sites are located along Bear Creek, which is dry unless there is a ton of rain or snow melt. This place is ideal for tent camping, not RVs. Pets are allowed but must be on a leash at all time. Camping fee is $10 per night. The campground is open all year. Sounds like an ideal location! But I took one star off because the campground, while rustic and beautiful, does attract some degenerates. Be forewarned that there is no host on site, and people tend to go all out with loud music and loud noise (Screaming and yelling?! Why? Really, why?) well into what would be considered elsewhere as quiet hours. And there were beer and soda cans everywhere! Even found cigarette butts. There was even trash at the restroom trashcan... right at the foot of the actual trashcan, which was not yet full by the way. People, this is bear country. And our shared, beautiful natural lands. Please take better care.

They updated the landscaping and have a clean pool and decent laundry room. I'd say its best for seasonal to full-time RVers, because it's not fully equipped for short term. Oh, but I heard they are trying to accommodate short-term and over night stays better. For month to month, we payed all city utilities (water, sewer, electricity), which comes out to around $128-285 depending on the weather. We conserve as much as possible and will freeze or sweat a bit to save on cost. Those numbers were during winter season (Nov - April). If you have Good Sam they offer a great discount. We paid around $360 per month for the lot space (that's in addition to utilities). If you plan to be seasonal or long-term, I recommend signing up for online payment otherwise you're paying for a money order every month (I believe personal checks are also welcome). There is NO free Wi-Fi. When we moved in, our site was originally designed for another trailer, and the internet hasn't been hooked up for 20 years. We had to go down to Cox and buy internet and the process was long. Now that it's all hooked up, it should be easier for the next trailer or rv. We pay $49.99/mo. for internet, but we found out that this place is considered "a low income area" and the city offers a deal where you only have to pay $19.99. I don't remember the site and I should've taken advantage of that offer. We also had to set up a mail box with USPS, which was a process but worth it. They use those metal community mailboxes so no need to actually purchase a box. The lot size is amazing. I don't think my pictures show how much space you actually get and I hope the park never makes them smaller. If we were full-timers I could easily put up a dog fence on one side of my Rv and have another yard in the back (or front). The neighbors tend to walk in between the spaces but we haven't had any issues with theft. As a matter of fact, none of our crap has ever been messed with. The park is generally safe. I walked my dog every morning and evening and never had issues with any person. However, I did get attacked by a dog and got pretty scratched up. Shit happens, I'm cool. I purchase a small can of pepper spray and keep it with me during every walk now. There are many dogs on-site, mostly pit-bulls, but most of them are incredibly friendly and well tied up. On that note, if you hate the sound of barking dogs all day long, this may not be your place. Whenever sirens pass by, the neighborhood of dogs scream and howl until it passes. It's funny, but can get annoying. The neighbors are decent but mostly keep to themselves. Almost every car that drives through bumps their music. Sometimes you just got to join them. If you're looking for a community, I did Not find it here. My neighbors were nice and pleasant when approached but I there that was it. They mostly kept to themselves. I think the more RVers there are the community will become more and more friendly. On that note, it is pretty kid friendly. My son found a few friends here. Sheila (front desk person) and her brother were my favorite people. They were above and beyond and I felt like I could just talk to them forever, and so we did! I hope you find your place here.

This was the best rated RV park close to their home and in town. I felt safe as it was gated, and told it's not the best part of town. The office staff was very kind, helpful and accommodating. Our road trips are usually not planned and figure it out as we go. So we were able to book same day and they also offered a Good Sam discount. There aren't trees and no grass, but we didn't bring our pups on this trip, so it wasn't a big deal. The sites are a good size, back in and pull through sites are available. I am sure this won't be the first time we will stay, and I think we want to see more that AZ has to offer. If you are in the Tucson area and looking for a RV park, do check this one out if you want to be close to the night life.
