Ok, I'm just gonna get straight to the point. There are way too much to rave about Laura and her team that if I listed out everything, they won't fit within the word limit. For those who are looking for a wedding photographer, here's why you need Laura: 1) Flawless Execution One of the MOST IMPORTANT lessons I learned from wedding planning is that the on-the-day execution trumps any portfolio. Wedding photography is a completely different ball game from studio photography and unfortunately, many of the current "wedding photographers" fall in the second category. It's easy to set up the perfect lighting, line up the perfect angle, and set up the perfect pose for a "perfect shot" (and even apply the perfect filter afterwards). That's studio photography and anyone can do that given a good camera. Wedding photography, on the other hand, is about capturing the moments. It's about having the instinct and the experience to capture those split seconds, those candid moments, and knowing how to respond to those unexpected events (which happens at every wedding). Laura's execution is flawless, which comes from her extensive resume and attention to details. Her efficiency is off the chart. That's how she can crank out 3,000 pics (while others can only do 800) w/o compromising quality. 2) Excellent Support Team All of the packages comes with 2 photographers + 1 "assistant", with Laura being the lead photographer most of the time. However, the rest of the team is superb as well (unlike other studios that just grab some complete newbie). Everyone on the team has their own photography studio, including the "assistant". Our second photographer actually charges more than Laura does at her own studio! How Laura can get her as a second photographer is beyond my understanding. So essentially, you're getting 3 professional photographers. What a deal! Each photographer has his/her distinct on-the-day roles. Laura is in charge of constantly following the couple, period. The second photographer is in charge of the guests, all the candid moments, and setup for some artistic studio shots. Everyone is professionally dressed and communicated well. With 3 photographers, you can easily get 100% coverage of the entire wedding. As a cherry on top, Laura personally processes some pics immediately after the wedding (usually past midnight) and will have a sneak peak of about 70 pics ready before the morning. 3) Contagious Personality Laura loves weddings. She genuinely loves weddings and helping brides, and her excitement is contagious. She's much more than just a photographer that you hire for one day. My wife and I have gained a friend though the process. I would recommend Fairytale and Laura to everyone looking for a true wedding photographer. I've gone to many weddings over the past few years and I can confidently say that no one came anywhere close to the level of execution that Laura had. It's been almost 3 years since my wedding, but I needed to write a review! Laura Parker was our photographer and she really becomes someone that feels like family! I had sent her a few must have Pinterest picture ideas, one of which was a cute waking up with my girls picture that was taken in a hotel bed. We had to get ready super early at the church, so I had just forgotten about that picture. Low and behold, Laura comes waltzing into the church with a comforter and pillows to recreate the picture! I was in shock. She TRULY makes all of your dreams some true. I've been in many weddings since, and I've never seen a photographer work so wonderfully at receptions making sure to capture pictures with everyone you're talking to and making sure you stop to take a quick pic. All I can say is, "WOW!!!" I am so impressed. For the life of me I cannot fathom a bad review about this business. My mom scheduled a Valentine's Day special appointment for my daughter and me. We have been so psyched to go because we love the pictures and it would be so special and it absolutely was. We got there a little early so we had to wait just a bit. But as soon as it was our turn we went back to the dressing and makeup room. They helped us pick our perfect dresses, and helped me tie mine up lol. Then they got to work on my makeup which turned out amazing! My hair looked great and so did my makeup. I loved it. I told the owner I wanted to bring the makeup lady with me so I could look that good every day! Rubi was very busy. But professional. Our shoot didn't take very long because my little one is 9 and very much a ham. She loves having her picture taken. It was so much fun! It was a great experience and we will definitely be going back! I want to make one thing clear that some other reviews don't. Prints start at $80. Everyone talks about the price but it is worth every single penny. And if you buy the digital package you get the rights to all the pictures. They're yours to do what you want to do with them. And they're beautiful. Like I said, we will be returning. Laura Parker is awesome! She is also very quick with the camera and really has an eye for great shots! Months ago My wife posted a question on the dfw board about first look locations in Denton but we ended up just using a nearby bridge and lake/pond close to the hotel we stayed in and the shots were awesome! How does Fairy Tale only have 6 reviews? Well, it might be because other couples are like me and procrastinate to the point of forgetting to review their amazing vendors.... my bad. When interviewing photographers for our special day, it was very obvious that Laura Parker and the entire Fairy Tale team was the perfect choice for us! Reasons listed below: 1. They love wedding. They ONLY do weddings. They know everything about weddings! 2. For our wedding day, I hardly noticed that they were there but somehow, we had over 2000 pictures at the end of the day! Our photographers were very good at capturing the "essence" of our wedding without too much posing. Don't worry, there were more than enough posed formal pictures as well! 3. When we woke up the next day after our wedding, Laura had already emailed us her favorite pictures. What a treat! 4. Her packages are so reasonable for everything you get. We chose the unlimited hours option, and it was the best decision. The team was with us from about 9 am in the morning until midnight... I don't know how much coffee they had to drink to do it, but I'm so grateful for all the different moments that were caught on camera. Our package also included a canvas and a voucher for us to use for our wedding album. This is a photography company that one does not want to use! Problems at the beginning. Started with us showing her pictures we would like to recreate, she kinda snubs in reality. Told her I wanted her to pay attention to details yet in Bridals quite the opposite. I had door trim sticking out, wall sockets in pictures, bride washed out, photographers' shadow in picture, etc. No, they do not edit pictures!! Unless you pressure them enough and they will do a few after that $25.00/picture. They tend to shoot their way and only that. Take their kind of pictures not yours. They talk a good talk but it doesn't happen that way. Time is of the essence to them. They say 2 hours, they mean 2 hours. They have a really expensive camera, they say, but only shoot one way, their way with a buffered lens. 2 weeks before daughters wedding they opt out of shooting wedding saying they were asked to shoot ways they couldn't. Reality-that means pulling off the buffered lens, guess they can't do that with that expensive camera. Very unprofessional doing this to a client. Then again it's all about them not the client. This was a nightmare and I suggest you not use them for your wedding. Remember, they do not edit their photos. What they shoot is what you get, so yes you will get the photos back quickly- but that blemish you want out- not/that door trim taken out of picture-not/that glare fixed-not. Get my drift? My bridal beauty team handled makeup & hair for a wedding on 1/17/15 where Angela Fleming of Fairy Tale was the photographer, subsequently, we have worked multiple weddings with her since then. Pictures are truly priceless, and the excellence that Fairy Tale Photography accomplishes is worth every penny. We hired Fairy Tale Photography for our engagement session, my bridal session and our wedding day. Angela did a wonderful job on all 3, and her assistant (on the day of) was also awesome! Angela was able to capture our love for each other in pretty much every single picture. That blows my mind, and I barely had to describe to her what I was looking for when it came to the photos. I just gave her a mental picture of what I wanted to see and a list, and she was spot-on with everything. I have shot several weddings on the side and know how to work a room and the obstacles and stress of a wedding. as a professional you have challenges at a wedding and you work around them. I was a guest at a wedding the past weekend where my wife was in the bridal party so the bride and groom are good friends so yes i brought my camera along. because i have shot weddings i know how it is and during the first dance i stayed out of the way of the photographer. there were a couple of shot where the photographer moved to the opposite side of the couple from me. i moved to the edge of the dance floor but still well away from the couple. next thing you know one of the photographers came up to me and told me i need to be mindful of where they were at. excuse me, i am a guest. as a professional I would never tell a wedding guest to get out of my way. I would work around them. then when dinner was ready the DJ announced for the bridal party and family to get in line first and guests second. the same photographer (i think she was the assistant photographer) got in line for food in front of the family! I have never eaten at a job i was working so i don't miss anything. Then during cutting of the cake it was dark and the guests had trouble seeing so the turned the lights up. Immediately she got on to then to turn it off. Again, you are a professional, work around it adjust your lights and settings. where is the professionalism? Other then that the images were pretty good. They just need to change how they work with their environment. read more
