She gets in school and immediately sits on the teachers lap. The other teachers in other rooms also seem to know my daughter as well, including the owner Miss Jill and the director, Miss Sandy, even parents of other children in her room generally know my child and greet her. The place is very clean, very new, with great activity areas for kids including a large indoor gym. I feel that this would be a very great place for me to continue my child's education, in loving, fun environment.

They are both very approachable, and from my experience, we can walk in at any time to discuss any thing about my child. The facility is extremely clean, I notice the teachers and staff picking up toys that the children may have mouthed, they wipe down tables, and changing stations constantly. They even have buckets in each room for toys that need to be cleaned, toys that were cleaned, and toys that are drying! The toddler room mini bathroom stalls aside from being cute are exceptionally clean as well. ALL of the staff/teachers are very friendly and knowledgable. They greet everyone coming in which gives the center a positive vibe. The security in the building is amazing. From iPads to check your child in/out, to a special entry security system...we leave feeling that our child is in safe and secure hands. My son loves to play there and in the few months that he has attended, we have noticed that he is learning so much. They just put babies in containers and hope parents arent going to call them out for unsafe practices. Even after i spoke with the director who assured me this wouldnt happen again, twice the third day they had him sleeping in a rocker intentionally immediately after eating. How a daycare doesnt know about SIDs and positional asphyxiation is beyond me. And they placed my 3 month old in an activity center he isnt old enough for and said "its for core strength". Literally google when you can use activity centers and it gives the guidance that the child needs to be able to sit up on their own. We got a full refund and the owner admitted fault but that doesnt make up for putting my child at risk.

Randy was calm and patient, and in 6 hours of lessons converted him to a very confident driver. He's now skilled at parallel parking, and Randy even gave him the skills and confidence to tackle highway driving as well. We enrolled our son at The Hillside School in second grade. He was there for three years then re-enrolled in seventh grade to help pilot the middle school program. The strategies he was taught in reading and writing along with skills in meta-cognition and self-advocacy have successfully supported him through high school and he will graduate in June. He was recently re-evaluated by our local school district in preparation for college admission. While he will always have a learning difference, he has tested out of needing specially designed instruction and hence an IEP. The faculty and staff at The Hillside School have consistently guided us with compassion and respect. Our investment in our son's education in his elementary and middle school years has been worth the time, effort and money put forth. My gratitude for Hillside is deep and wide.
