CJ, the Social Services Director, was absolutely delightful, and Amarina, the Activities Director, was so kind and accommodating. She truly made my loved one feel seen, valued, and cared for. It brings our family so much comfort knowing they are surrounded by such compassionate people. We are very grateful for everything they do.

Jeff Rose says, "Do not judge a man based on the level of disability, but the content of their character." It has been very challenging living in this body because I am very intelligent. However, people treat me like I have a developmental illness. So let's get this straight so you understand why I am doing this. I am a spirit living in a body and they only have one home one facility for people with physical challenges in North Carolina. It's incredible to me that they lump people with physical challenges into the same facility as people with mental challenges and older people in the same facility. I am not going to tolerate this anymore. The nurse and the CNA treat me very rudely, like I'm stupid because my speech slurred and because I am in a wheelchair. My lower back is in m excruciating pain and every day I wait in my wheelchair outside of my room for 20 minutes to 1 hour because they are in no rush or sense of urgency. My ask is for a separation of facilities. One physical challenge is very similar to the one in North Carolina. Two people per room and one caregiver for every four people. My facility will be for people with degenerative diseases. I have a 3 BA degree I was student of the year twice and a Victorian, and I have written a book. I was in a business and reached the highest rank. I will make a deal with local colleges and their nurse will be in an intern program they will get a certain amount of credit for the trade-off.

Personalized and compassionate service from everyone. Thank you for caring for my mom.read more

After serving as my Mom's primary caregiver for 11 years, I spent two years personally checking…read moredozens of local North County senior residential care homes for my 90 year old mother, who suffers from advanced Alzheimer's and Dementia. Most are OK, not great. The larger facilities are too hotel-ish and very costly. A few were terrible. I reported THE MANSE in Vista to the state for elder abuse, and ultimately they were given a only minor warning. Avoid that house of horrors at all costs! After putting Mom's name on a list at Blue Skies I decided to call Lauren back to see if they had an opening. Fortunately for us, she had an opening and so in February of 2014 we moved Mom into their Oceanside facility. They have two large 6 room/bed homes, one in Oceanside and the other in San Marcos. Both are big beautiful homes with lovely yards and gardens. Mom's care there has been wonderful, as Lauren and her staff treat each resident as if they are family, with lots of TLC, activities, and personal care. Staffing levels are plentiful, with a 2-3 staffing contingent for the six residents at each place 24/7. Amazingly, their price in very middle-of-the-road and well worth the services and facilities provided with delicious hot meals 3X daily, and plenty of snacks and drinks. Their loving, caring attitude is priceless! If you are seeking a wonderful home-like "family" atmosphere for an elder loved one, you will not find a nicer, more accommodating place in the area for ANY price. I know this as I checked most of them personally and can attest to this fact. So if you need some help with a loved one getting on in years, or needing help with daily living activities, do yourself a favor and call Lauren and get on their list right away. You will thank yourself as I do every single day. Yes, there is a list but they do have turnover due to the advanced aged of many of their residents.

There was a waitlist, but after a couple months, we received a call that there was space available. Most of the popular times were taken, but we eventually found a schedule that worked for us. I know that there are mixed reviews about the front reception area, but from our experience, Cindy is exceptionally great at what she does. She may come off as strict, or maybe not as friendly at first, but she is the one that holds the fort down. For what she does, she needs to be that gatekeeper. She makes sure that the paperwork is there, the insurance is applicable, the schedules for all the therapists are set, the common area stays clean, there is just so much that she does that people don't realize. She is truly great, and I stand by my comment that she is a huge asset to that team. My son was in speech therapy since he was two years old. At that point, he only said one word. We started virtual therapy because of Covid, and eventually moved into a on prem therapy. When his therapist left the facility, we were heartbroken and had anxiety about what we would do. At that point he was also doing speech therapy through the public school system, but we felt like he still needed that one on one practice. His first session at Little Sprouts was with Amanda. She has a ton of energy, and unlike his other therapist, which was mostly play based, Amanda got down to business. She incorporated rewards along the way, and little incentives, but most of it was hard work. I believe we were there for about a year and a half before my son was clear to graduate. I give a lot of credit to the hard work that Amanda put in with him, the work we did at home that she recommended, and the group sessions that he had through public school. It truly takes a village. It's always difficult to see your child struggle with something that you feel might be out of your hands. It's amazing how quickly they can catch up with a lot of perseverance and focus. This facility is amazing, Amanda is an excellent therapist, and I couldn't be more thankful and grateful for them! Our son has so much to say every day, and sometimes I forget how far we've come that I have to take a step back and take it all in. Thank you so much, Little Sprouts. Thank you, Amanda. Thank you, Shari! We are beyond grateful for your team and their dedication to these littles!
