I suspect Dr. Adel works for the pharmaceutical companies. I've been taking my cats there for years until recently. I'm in the process of researching other vets in the area as I don't trust this office due to the recent death of my 4 year old cat. She has had a few illnesses since she was born. Mostly random bouts of conjunctivitis which I read can be bothersome and frequent as she was one of 3 sisters in the household. I used to treat all of them at once to prevent the spread of the virus and had been diligent in isolating the kittens who are still sick. Haiya developed a UTI lasting well over a year. She was treated with the same medication I treated the conjunctivitis with. CLAVISTAN. It wasn't doing the trick. She would appear to get better and then it would flare up again and so back to the vet we go. Over and over again until I was nearly bankrupt with vet bills. The communication I received was vague at best. I had already diagnosed her myself each time I didn't need to pay $85 to tell me that. After receiving the same medication for the 4th time I had been researching effective UTI treatments. Clavastin wasn't even on the list and no other suggestions were mentioned by Dr Adel or prescribed. It was painfully clear to me that Haiya was suffering. I'm on a disability and this was getting expensive. I started selling things that I had just to pay the vet. My other 3 cats were fine. Fit. Trim, active. Two peas. Haiya was my baby. I bottle fed her since she was always getting pushed out of the litter. We were so bonded. One night we were watching a movie. The other 2 girls came in and one of them ran up and swatted her like she was jealous I was giving Haiya too much attention. Situation diffused I started to gently clip Haiyas nails. Just one or two at a time at intervals. Sometimes it would take me 2 days to trim them but she has one chronic ingrown nail on each front paw that were very difficult to maintain. As they grew fast large and directly into her pads She was a polydactyl. The extra digits were mutated and hard to deal with. Dr Adel said they didn't feel comfortable operating to alleviate the situation but I should continue to torture my cat often to deal with it. This 8s difficult to write as I'm full gone waterworks and it's difficult to compose myself. So not only was my bank account emptied repeatedly but I was also repeatedly given ineffective treatment options and denial of surgical procedures to ease my cats suffering and frequency of flare-ups.. Although I could tell Haiya was having some discomfort she seems quite affectionate and even playful. I knew that by the end of the month a I'd have more money to take her into the vet again and it was only less than a week away. But as she was lying next to me peacefully.while I stroked her she let out a yowel and had a full blown seizure. Like running in her sleep and then she was gone. Forever. The amount of times Haiya had been back and forth to the vet you'd think they would have run some tests. This had never before happened. I honestly don't know what could have caused her seizure other than the fact that her UTI had gotten to sepsis level. I won't ever go back there. The staff is always extremely friendly and upbeat in contrast with the doctors monotone demeanor. It's the doctors carelessness and lack of effective treatment options that driven me nuts over the years. And now with Haiyas sudden death and the further research I've done brings me to the conclusion that must have been working for pharmaceutical bonuses rather than the proper and effective treatment of my baby girl. I'm very upset and now paranoid about suddenly losing my other 2. I've lost my ability to trust anyone. Interviewed several local vets but none are very appealing or affordable. Maybe I'll just become a Vet. Hate Niagara Falls. Working towards going back to BC. It's a better class of people there. A more personable mindset. Selfish is wide spread in Ontario I've learned. read more

DONT GO! let this be your red flag warning! the way they treated my animals, the unprofessional staff, inapropriate.

I brought my little poodle to this vet for an initial check and vaccines. The staff and the vet were nice and kind to my pup. However, when I was planning a trip to Europe, I found out that my pup had to have received a microchip with rabies shot to be able to fly, and that original rabies shot was not counted by EU before the microchip. Only a few months ago, he got his rabies shot, and this would be too much for his little body. Had I been told about the importance of a microchip with rabies, I would have done it at the same time. This is now causing all kinds of problems for me as this is my emotional support animal, and him not being able to go with me is impacting me in more ways than 1. ... So, for a pup that lives locally and for simple local needs, this was a nice clinic. Their pricing is much better than in Toronto area. But if you have special requirements, you may need to do your homework first before coming or find another place that specializes in your needs. One thing I appreciated: they told me to call CFIA to find out what is needed before coming, and thus saved me an unnecessary trip to their office... just wish they had told me about this when I gave my pup his rabies shot. read more

He's just so scared of my dog, and my dog is not at all aggressive! Brought him there twice and both times the vet jumped in fear and was scared to approach, very odd! Anyway, he never got close enough to my dogs ear to have a look and see what was wrong, but he had no problem charging me for a 'vet check' read more

AMAZING TEAM !!!!  Incredible experience twice !!!!!!! Had my first visit back to June 2018. My dog was attacked by another dog and I was desperate.  Dr. Adel was really patient with my dog and explained what he is going to do. I can tell right away, he is compassionate about my feeling at the moment. Second time, My dog was vomiting the day before and we went to our regular vets did blood test and got treatments. Then, they provided two medications for my dog. Late in the day, my dog start to shaking and can't even walk and no appetite at all. With her case, there is no way I can give her any medications.  So, I  went to Dr.Adel and his team again. They read all the results from my regular vet and diagnosed my dog immediately.  Then, provided effective treatment plan right away. Also, Dr. Adel cleanly explained what's wrong and what they are going to try on her (with my dog's existing issues).  In addition, the team kept my dog over night just to monitor how she is doing with all her treatments.  This morning when I saw my baby ..... I can't stop crying because I can tell she is back, she was eating normal and trying to jump on us and Dr. Adel and his team are extremely patient. Then, Dr. Adel explained what they did and what we should do in next couple weeks. Now, my dog is walking like nothing happened before. Also, I can tell they are so passionate about their career, that is not just a job that's a career to them. The wonderful lady (I am so sorry, I didn't ask your name) spent almost entire night with my dog in the care unit, just to keep her a company because she compassionate care about my dog and they totally understand how scary my dog was to be there alone without us.  Thank you Dr. Adel, Sylvana Izzo, Laura Thompson, Desirae Wood, Gail Hendry and all other team members for doing such amazing compassionate and professional care in Niagara Region. I started seeing Dr Adel shortly after he opened his practise. I've been to many Vets and they absolutely overcharge and are very inexperienced. Dr Adel is a great clinician, diagnostician, and has very reasonable prices. I send all my clients (I do a small amount of breeding) that live in the area and are looking for a Vet to him. There was a complainant about euthanizing her dog. Sometimes things in life do go amuck. Nothing is ever perfect. But, I can say, it was a nice smooth euthanizing of my 10 yr old beloved Chesapeake. You need a Vet in Niagara, don't hesitate to go to him. read more

Terrible, reckless veterinary practice. Vet here diagnosed my dog with strangles with no diagnostic testing to rule out other, much more common causes. They put her on a steroid and told me to follow up in two weeks. Well, 10 days later the dog was much worse. I made an appointment to come in sooner and requested they do a skin scraping to rule out mange or a bacterial infection. The vet refused stating that it wouldn't help and to keep her on the steroids. Several days later the dog was even worse so I took her to a different vet. They did a $50 skin scraping and surprise surprise it was mange. Mange that was exacerbated by the steroids. There's a term in medicine "when you hear hooves think horses not zebras." Save your time and ultimately your money and go somewhere they'll do proper diagnostic. My poor dog has suffered needlessly. read more

Clean, educated, friendly, fairly priced and honest. First off, they have the machine in the clinic so you get your blood work results here within 10ish minutes!! This was easily the best experience I have ever had at a vet clinic. Thank goodness they are open on a Saturday, we brought our cat in after he digested a poisonous plant and Dr. Adel proved himself to be kind, welcoming, educated and practical. He does a fabulous job of taking confusing medical information and explaining it in a way that was easy for us to understand. He gave us a quick tour of the entire clinic so we could see how clean and organized his surgery room and facilities were. The lady working with him today was very intelligent and welcoming. We came in for an emergency but will be using this vet as our regular for both our dog and cat from now on. I cannot recommend them enough!! read more

Worst and longest Euthanasia ever. Ok veins were thin because of liver problems but don't kaeep telling me it will take a minute her heart is slowing when she is still moving and looking at me. Tried another leg and again I had to ask did it take because she is still alive. Then I was asked to leave the room while they tried something else for 15 minutes!! Then I was asked did I want to see her after she had died. No My plan was to comfort her not hear her still thrashing and moaning through the door. Unacceptable read more
