My cat had an accident one morning at 7:50am...I couldn't think of what to do (except for an emergency clinic). The accident was not life threatening but I wanted him looked at sooner rather than a minimum of 6 hours from then... I had noticed (walking by with my dog recently) that Niagara Veterinary Services opened at 8am, and they were very close to my house, so I called them. I was able to come in right away and my cat was taken care of, and I was so grateful. On another occasion a few months later, a different cat had a health issue and was dehydrated. It was already after office hours (they close at 6pm) and I emailed the vet, to ask if it were possible to get an appointment first thing in the morning. Dr. Joe Paul got the email and called me back and asked if I could bring the cat in now...it was hours after closing, but he did this for me and my cat anyway and she got the emergency hydration that she needed. The vets have checked in with us regularly to ensure our diabetic cat is still doing well, and were very helpful in explaining Feline Leukemia when another cat of ours was found to have it. In the times when we've had to make the very painful decisions, the vets, vet techs and front desk staff have been so wonderful. We have always received honest opinions, and had our own wishes respected, without judgment. I have occasion to deal with the front desk staff every few weeks because of medication requirements, and not once have I ever encountered a bad attitude. I can't say enough about the care my cats have received while in the care of this fantastic facility.

My dog is a dear aggressive bulldog and has a hard time letting someone in her personal space…read morestraight away. With her pushed in face she can get out of a muzzle easily, so she needs to feel comfortable in her surroundings or needs to be restrained by me. Her previous vet wouldn't have her in their practice without a muzzle, I didn't like their attitude, so decided to speak to Niagara Falls animal medical clinic and expressed my concerns, to which they were very accommodating and have worked very well with her by scheduling other appointments without other animals around the office when she gets in. They are patient with her and thorough. She hasn't eaten them which is even better. dr Mergl has been fabulous as has dr. Tatzel.

So they said wait another month, we went and they decided to operate to get it out well they couldn't find it, so they said give it a couple weeks they said they would do an ultrasound to I called them to do the ultrasound they said they would try to find it without the ultrasound so they operated a second time and again couldn't find it. so a few weeks later they finally did the ultrasound and again operated a third time . It took 7 months to just get my cat neutered. THIS IS SO CRUEL We adopted Bobby and this is the vet the adoption agency uses? we had no choice but to get him neutered there.

Was not told this before exam. I told her I wouldn't pay 70 bucks for the weighing of my cat, I understand a "prelim consult" can have a small fee, but nothing was done and no time was taken. And most importantly I wasnt told before hand. Waiting for an email from them to see if theyll waive the fee. But regardless, a bad taste in my mouth left from a doctor who did NOT give the aura of someone who loves animals.

Initially I was given an appointment for the next morning but was called back with an appointment today. Our cat was examined and provided treatment for an apparent infection. The instructions provided to continue her treatment were clear. The Ford Veterinary Associates are not in a modern building. The facility though is clean and the staff is caring. Dr. McCarthy, his son also Dr. McCarthy and their staff have always given our pets exceptional care. When going here you are not paying for a modern facility, you are paying for quality care for your pets at an affordable price. We are happy here and will continue taking our pets for well care and treatment of ailments.

No, we didn't go to the vet often: we have two healthy indoor only cats with no medical issues, the last time he was there was pronaly 2.5 years ago. She told me to try a emergency vet and HUNG UP ON ME!!! Her behavior was APPALLING. Putting down a pet is never easy but being treated thus way made it so much worse. The veterinarian here has always been very kind and explained what needed to be done, which was why I returned, but after being talked to in the way I was we have switched vetrinarians ad I will NEVER recommend them to anyone. I received various responses including: - are you sure it's not a male because a neuter is about $200 - I don't know if we do spays - you will have to come in for an exam before booking a surgery (at this point she hadn't confirmed they did spays) - we don't have a set price for spay procedures (what?) They take care of all different kinds of animals (including repriles) so we can bring the whole zoo here if need be. The Location The building is a nice little building with street parking all around it. It is very clean and well kept both inside and out. The exam rooms are a good size and have seating for owners which is nice. The only issue I've had with the building is that the reception area is small. It only becomes a problem when there are a lot of appointments waiting because you can get a lot of different animals packed in pretty fast and not all of them will get along. The Staff The staff here are amazing. They always are very caring and considerate and do their best to help you and your pets. We trust them completely with our animals and they have never steered us wrong. For us they have done everything from normal checkups, fixed a broken leg (cat), spade a cat and helped us deal with our dog's cancer. Its not always the easiest days when we go in there but they help us get through it and always give us good advice. The Value I know when it comes to health car that money isn't the most important factor but I would like to mention that they seem to have very competitive prices for their appointments/procedures. We love the care our animals get at Thorold Veterinary Hospital and we recommend them to anyone in the area looking for a good vet.

We reserved 1.5 weeks in advance. They required the usual vaccinations, neuter/spay and rabies documentation and accepted the docs via email. 48 hour cancellation notice. Hours are M-F 7am-7pm and Sa Sun 9am-6pm but they are closed 12N-2pm each day so you cannot pick up during that time. They asked if our dog required a private space or is social. We could not see the playspace and only 1 person is allowed in the lobby area. If we were to use this location on a regular basis, we'd need to see the playspace. But overall, very happy with the doggie daycare.
