It's been a month since our…read more4-year-old rescue, Angus, completed his 3-week board and train--and we can confidently say we have a completely transformed dog. When we adopted Angus, an American Bulldog, he was extremely reactive, had zero impulse control, and was tough to manage. Walks were stressful--he would bark, lunge, and completely lose it around other dogs. Recall was non-existent, and previous trainers had little success with him. After his time at CharlieBar, everything changed. Angus now walks calmly on a leash, his reactivity has decreased by at least 90%, and he thrives during his daily training sessions at home. The most remarkable part of Ricardo's approach is that it goes beyond basic commands--he teaches dogs how to think, make decisions, and self-correct. It's not just about punishment or praise; it's about helping dogs understand their choices. With a simple "uh uh," Angus now stops, thinks, and chooses better behavior--without fear or confusion. We're beyond grateful for the results and highly recommend CharlieBar to anyone looking to make a lasting difference in their dog's behavior.

I was worried for a moment, leaving my dogs with someone new and especially finding someone to train them. Ricardo and everyone really put my mind at ease while I was in another state and getting those daily updates and seeing how much they've grown. They will definitely be back in the summer for more training as I feel like I have found someone that I can trust with my dogs. I know my dogs are very stubborn and scared of new people but they were very patient with them and really earn their trust. Thank you again guys again and will definitely see us again soon. We scheduled an in-home appointment with Sergio and I went along to observe. Within less than 2 hours Woody the dog was listening to commands and obeying the directions. Sergio is very patient and shared his techniques so that the boys could reinforce the initial training. He offered advice via phone if needed in the future and shared some information on the correct type of leash for Woody so he can be walked safety. If you have dog who may not be listening to you, consider calling Sergio to schedule a home visit. You will be amazed at the difference in your dog's behavior after the first session.

Before I found…read moreSergio, I had been to 3 other trainers to help train my high energy, slightly stubborn 2 year old blue heeler. Each of the previous trainers made me believing that in order to see any good come from training, I needed to be aggressive with my dog and I felt uncomfortable and discouraged... THEN I MET SERGIO! Sergio started with an in depth phone call in which I told him a bit about my dog and our experiences with training. Right away, he eased my mind that training is meant to be fun and enjoyable for both the dog and owner. He then scheduled a free meet and greet in our home so we could decide if we like the way our dogs reacted to him. Both our heelers loved him! They thought he was so fun! He gave us a few pointers and then set up our first official training session to get to work. We had our first training about 2 weeks ago, and let me tell you I am seeing changes in both my dogs already! Initially we had planned to only do training for our 2 year old being that he is the more reactive one, but Sergio still made sure to include our 5 year old who is a bit anxious and timid so he wasn't feeling left out. Sergio worked with us and our dogs showing us where we can do better and how we can communicate more effectively with our boys. We have instilled his training in bits throughout the day since our dog training and our one dog is growing less anxious and timid to confident, and our other dog is starting to pick up on behavior that receives reward over behavior that makes the fun go away. I have sent Sergio messages and photos since and he is so great about adding tweaks if need be, but also encouraging you to keep up the good work! I am super excited and grateful we found Sergio and All Dogs Training!! He restored my hope in getting my dogs to a place that people are asking, "how did you teach them that?!" and I get to say Sergio at All Dogs Training! We look super forward to our next session with Sergio!

He was also extremely afraid of any objects coming into the home such as packages or anything really - causing him to run and bark. At the time I was only a few months away from having our first child and I was worried that with Bodie's fearful tendencies he would inadvertently hurt our child. After speaking with Caitlin on the phone, she was confident that she would be able to help. We enrolled Bodie in the boarding program - and it was the best thing that we could have ever done for him! I loved getting to see daily video updates of Bodies progress. He made so much progress so quickly!! My dreams have now come true thanks to Caitlin and Jordan! I am now able to bring Bodie on walks with my stroller and he is extremely well behaved and ignores distractions such as trash trucks, dogs barking at him, etc.. just today I brought him on a walk and put him in "place" and dropped the leash while I loaded up my baby and stroller in the car and he waited patiently in the grass nearby. He is extremely gentle with our newborn and we are so pleased with the outcome of the training and will be recommending Heel, Sit, Stay to everyone!!

We…read moreknew that if we were going to get a larger dog, we needed to be fully prepared--with the time, resources, and dedication to train him properly from puppyhood. That was a must for it to be fair to the dog and for us to truly enjoy the next 10+ years together. We did a lot of reading on training basics and puppy care and implemented what we could once we brought Winston home. We knew he was a great puppy with so much potential--but also that if we wanted to do things right the way we had envisioned, we needed professional help. And we needed it soon. We are incredibly grateful to have found Heel, Sit, Stay in our search for a dog trainer. One of the main reasons we chose to work with Cait and Jordan was that they run a small, family-owned business. They genuinely love what they do and are personable, professional, friendly, and excellent communicators. Initially, we planned to work with Cait through a four-lesson private training package. After just our first lesson, however, my husband and I immediately realized that the best course of action would be to enroll Winston in the HSS four-week e-collar board-and-train program--so we pivoted. At that point, walking Winston was nearly impossible. As a four-month-old Lab puppy, it had become so challenging that we had almost given up on walks entirely. After just one lesson with Cait and following her guidance, we were able to walk him again without major struggle. It was nearly unbelievable. Throughout the four weeks Winston trained with Cait and Jordan, we knew he was in excellent hands. We received daily reels showing his progress, along with detailed weekly reports outlining what they were working on, his improvements, and any challenges. It was amazing to follow his journey and see not only his development, but how much he genuinely enjoyed the program. When Winston returned home, we spent an entire hour with Cait as part of the four complimentary follow-up lessons included with the program. She thoroughly taught us how to use the e-collar and answered all of our questions. Within days, we met with both Cait and Jordan for another follow-up lesson to review our progress, learn additional training tips, and continue building our skills. Just days after Winston graduated, we took him to Riparian Nature Park on an extremely busy day filled with families, dogs, and bike riders. We walked leisurely for a full hour without a single issue. The difference was night and day compared to our previous attempt there before the program--we were in awe. At the time of writing this review, we have just completed our third follow-up lesson with Cait. We even took the training into Hobby Lobby, which was both a productive refresher and a great way to continue building our dog-handling skills in a real-world environment. Beyond the invaluable training, we truly appreciate Cait's willingness to share her expertise whenever questions come up. She is always gracious about responding to texts or taking a call, and we genuinely feel supported on this journey. We now feel confident handling our sweet boy and grateful to be part of a community of well-behaved, happy dogs and owners. We look forward to joining group classes and future refresher lessons. Thank you, Cait and Jordan, for building such an outstanding business and community.

A bit of background: My wife and I have a dog-walking business, and my wife has been in the business for almost a dozen years. When we got Sawyer, it seemed like a no-brainer that he would get everything he needed from us, and we felt he was so very lucky to be able to go out to the park every day, often all day. What we did not yet realize was that all dogs do not benefit from the same kind of park experiences and the same kind of stimulation. Over a few years, we saw Sawyer's behavior deteriorate to a point where we were spending a ton of time and attention just managing his behavior when we were out with our groups. It was so confusing and disheartening: he used to love dogs, and still had so many doggie friends! As his scraps became more common, we decided he just could not come out with us anymore. That's right, WE FIRED OUR OWN DOG. In the meantime, my wife has been expanding her skill base and learning more and more about the scientific approach to dog training. It has made a big difference in how we handle the dogs in our business, but we still found it hard to look at OUR dog's behavior and do anything about that. Typical Cobbler's Son issues! When we started looking for someone to help us with Sawyer, we literally had a city full of non-aversive trainers to choose from. My wife knew Jennifer socially, and we trusted her approach. Jennifer helped us see that the dog park was no place for Sawyer. Her skills are AMAZING. She really SEES what is going on with the dog, and can create a pattern of activity that suits him better and keeps him from "having" to do his naughty business, when he would rather avoid it. He is happier and more relaxed, in addition to thoroughly and properly stimulated, since we started using Jennifer's service and following her advice. Our time with him is so much more enjoyable.

We had a extremely fear-aggressive dog who was barking, lunging, and snapping at people with hats, backpacks, and canes. Benny also was reactive to other dogs on leash and we lived on a busy city neighborhood street where you can't walk a block without running into at least one of these things. Benny bit the mailman when our neighbor buzzed him into our shared back courtyard. Things got so bad we even talked about euthanizing him. We worked with Jennifer Joyce on and off for two years. Jennifer was incredibly compassionate, caring, calm, but also firm and straight-up with us. Her one basic rule was that we always had to tell her the truth about what we were doing or not doing in terms of training exercises (which she could tell anyways based on what the dog did or didn't do). I don't know how she was as patient and non-judgmental and non-shaming as she was, given how long it took for us to "get it." Jennifer was patient and worked with us to: 1) Grieve the loss of the dog we thought we were going to have (no coffee shop hanging out, no hanging out at dog park) 2) Accept the dog we did have (loving, anxious, playful, fearful and devoted) 3) Understand the world from Benny's perspective. Benny wasn't trying to be a jerk-- Benny was deeply afraid. And our job as his guardians were to protect him. Jennifer helped us understand this, as well as give us the tools to increase Benny's sense of safety and train him to always look to us when he sees something which scares him. Fast forward to now: We are wonderfully happy family. Walks with Benny around the neighborhood have improved dramatically. Before, it had gotten to the point where we dreaded walking him. Now it is much easier and we feel a lot calmer because now we have the tools from Jennifer. We still have to be aware and make good choices, but working with Jennifer helped us build the skills and the awareness that we needed. Two years ago we couldn't imagine how we would get through one week (or sometimes even one walk), and here we are now feeling happy and much more comfortable. Now instead of being so resentful or scared about his behavior, we can really enjoy Benny as the wonderful, playful, loving dog that he is. It was incredible working with Jennifer. It changed our entire relationship with Benny, and reduced massive amounts of stress in our lives.
