Our little one had to be scheduled for a long…read moreterm stay at one of the nearby hospitals and the hospital was out of beds for us to stay while he was in recovery . Luckily RMHR had some open space and we were allowed to stay during the duration of our little guys recovery. The staff is very friendly and the facilities very clean. They help families here by providing meals and a caring environment . The house rules are reasonable and common sense - no alcohol, no visiting guests during Covid , clean up after yourself, be respectful to other guest during quiet hours, etc. The house is a big help to us as our little guy's hospital stay will likely put a ding in our wallets. Their charity will greatly help us out financially since we don't have to get a hotel on our own. They recommend but don't require a suggested $15/night donation to the charity which I feel is more than fair. Thank you, Ronald McDonald House Richmond!

You may want to research other thrifts in the area. This location also does financial assistance. The phone calls are only taken on Mondays at 8:30 a.m. They only help with rent that is only a month over due, Dominion Energy, gas and oil. They help with wood during winter months. There is a high volume of calls so you have to remain patient. Dial 0 to get directly to operator because it will incorrectly tell you to dial a 1 or some other number. If applying for DE (Dominion Energy) or gas financial assistants please have the account number ready to give to receptionist when you call it makes the process smoother. They usually have funding for the city of Richmond only but occasionally there is funding for both Chesterfield county and Henrico county.

I had to remain in the hallway at the table watching them through the glass. He had a lot of fun & they had several school buses of children using the pool today also. It wasn't very crowded even with all those extra kids. Their facility is clean (the front desk area and pool are all I saw). The front desk lady wasn't the friendliest, but I let it go after I saw how much fun my baby was having in the pool. Their hours are weird & they close way too early. So, call them before driving there to make sure they are open. The pool goes to 10 feet too. My son & his dad love it though, so I recommend them.

They provide breakfast and lunch for only $35 a week. Each week has a theme, i.e. Aquatics, Arts, Outdoors. They go on trips to Pocahontas State Park, VMFA, a Flying Squirrels game, and others. My daughter really enjoys it and it keeps her occupied during the summer!

Attached to the Diversity Thrift store, the center is a space for the greater Richmond community, of all sexual orientations, gender identifies, and faiths, to gather. As a nonprofit the space is donated for free to various events such as fundraisers, support groups, board meetings, play rehearsals, and worship services. It was the space where the community gathered for a vigil and memorial for the Pulse Nightclub victims in 2016, and will be hosting the inaugural Black Pride RVA this upcoming weekend. It also donates shoes and clothing to LGBTQ folks in need, particularly youth and those facing homelessness.

Very caring and strong community. Encourages you to build your own network in recovery. While the groups are generally structured in during their Intensive program, I still found benefit from them while in the Sober Living program before I found employment. They focus on critical aspects outside of general addiction education, such as the mind, body, communication, and so on. Their programs garner an environment where one can go about their individual journeys while also having a safe and comfortable home, free from any substances. The center also hosts many meetings for various pathways including NA, AA, SMART Recovery, Recovery Dharma, and more. I have never had a problem with the staff. Always very helpful and kind. Same goes for the house leaders they appoint to their recovery residences.

Joe's Pizza and Pepe's are in the same shopping center, so it really makes for a great afternoon out.
