I had a very disappointing experience at this Family Dollar. The store appeared to be engaging in what felt like a bait-and-switch pricing practice.
The item I wanted to purchase was displayed under one price tag alongside all of the same or similar products. When it rang up at a higher price, I pointed out that it had been stocked under the lower-priced tag. Instead of acknowledging the confusion or investigating the issue, the cashier and manager on duty, Chasity, simply walked over, moved the product to the higher-priced tag, and stated that was the "correct" price.
What was even more disappointing was the lack of customer service. When I brought the pricing discrepancy to her attention, she acted as though I was inconveniencing her for asking about it. There was no apology, no empathy, and no attempt to make the situation right. She proceeded to charge me the higher price without any effort to resolve the issue.
Based on how quickly the product was moved to a different price tag, it gave the impression that this isn't the first time something like this has happened.
As a customer, I expect accurate pricing and respectful service, especially from a manager. Unfortunately, I received neither. This was my last visit to this location. Save yourself the frustration and shop somewhere that values its customers--and your hard-earned dollar. read more
