They went through some terrible times but worked hard and held on till the vary end. They donated a great amount to various charitys over the years and did their best to help the community in times of need. Though many of their acts of kindness went unnoticed by the public with some going as far as to shame them for their race and spew unwarranted hate in their direction the people who ran and operated Valley discount still did their best to help people and other small businesses in the winchester area. When we first came to the door at 11:45 am it was still closed and the paper on the door says that they open at 12pm. Just as we were heading back to the car the owner open the door and invited us in a bit early which was nice of him. Looking around you will find a lot of variety of items such pet supply, car items, jewelry, pillows, and more at a discount. After walking around we found some items that interested us and paid at the register. They have a big parking lot so no issues there. All in all, my experience here was good and would recommend everyone stop by here before the closed down forever in a few months.

Good brands for cheap prices!…read more Gabe's (or Gabriel Brothers) is a wonderful discount store where you could find pretty much anything that you are looking for. It is slightly unorganized but it does have a lot of options. Can be hit or miss at times but that mainly depends on you patience level. There is no "quick trip" into and out of Gabe's. If you want to find something to buy, you need to plan on spending quite a bit of time here. It's worth it!

This time they seemed to cram more junk all over the place. Stands of phone charging cables, spring water, tee shirts...all kind of stuff on the way to the men's department which has shrunk to maybe 20% of the store. Ok, I decided to walk the aisles to see what I could find. Slim pickings. Lots of tees, jeans with holes in them, serious selections of hoodies from various brands, light duty (what looked like designer style) jackets plus a load of sweat pants and night wear for men. I finally found a rack of Carhartt "work pants" which had a cuff at the bottom shrinking the bottom of the pants so my foot wouldn't even fit through. Back to the rack. Everything had the cuff. After that there was nothing in the store I wanted. Possibly a winter jacket. Nothing. No raincoats to be found. I normally get some wild socks for my brother in law for Christmas, none of that. Socks for me, nope. Size 6-12 never fits my foot. So I left without buying anything. The store seems to have gone to pot. Broken hangers everywhere on the floor. You can smell the bathroom about 3 aisles away. Fitting rooms that are locked and help never comes. A nice lady let me use the one she was using when I wanted to try on the pants. The disappearance of things like brand name jackets and pants. I don't think I'll be visiting again.

If you see a product you are interested in buying, and it comes in two or more different sizes, be sure to check the cost per ounce or unit because sometimes the small size is the better buy. If you have ever shopped in a military commissary you will look around and think you are at another commissary. On Saturday afternoons the inside store traffic is similar to Interstate traffic during the holidays. Now with that out of the way, back to the store and their products. Easy to locate this store located in a shopping center, with a traffic light to help traffic going in and out of the shopping center. The store is clean, uncluttered, and the shopping buggies are not those oversized monsters. Remember they are closed on Sundays and the rest of the days they are open 8am to 8pm. They do take credit cards and cash. Back to shopping. They do carry some national brand names. There is no self-check. When we checked out they had nine cash registers going. If the checkout line is long, don't worry, it will move along quickly. Their cashiers are very efficient. Whenever we are in Winchester, we plan to do some of our grocery shopping at Sharp Shopping before go to COSTCO. If you are in Winchester, do yourself a favor and give it a try. You may like it and you may not, but you need to know.

While placing my groceries on the conveyor belt, I greeted the cashier three different times. She didn't respond, didn't make eye contact, and didn't acknowledge me at all. I even moved closer and said "hi" again, but still nothing. Another employee came over to help bag my groceries, and I also helped by placing the bags into my cart. After paying, I said "thank you," thinking maybe the cashier had a hearing issue. I repeated "Thank you, have a good day" loud enough for both employees to hear. She finally looked up but still didn't respond. I said "thank you" once more, and she eventually replied, but in a rude tone. She was working register #2 around 11:50am today (8/27). She didn't have a name tag, but my receipt shows the name Darlene B. I hope she receives coaching on greeting customers and providing basic courtesy. Every customer deserves respect, and front‑facing roles require professionalism. Experiences like this can impact whether people choose to return.
