The only other Family Express I've been to was in Warsaw Indiana on my way to Pennsylvania and it was super late when we went. This location has a large amount of hot food, making it that much better of a stop on long distance road trips so you don't have to go to a second destination for quick warm food. Their pizza seems to be the star of the hot food scene here, and they were $5 for two slices when I was here. There are two gender neutral bathrooms that are one person at a time and handicap accessible. The bathrooms were clean making this gas station a good spot for a quick bathroom stop. I didn't interact with the employees, but my husband did and said they were friendly. If you need gas, food, drink or restroom, Family Express has you covered. They also have some outside seating if you want to enjoy the good weather for a moment before getting back on the road. read more

I'm a fan of Family Express - gas prices tend to be a little lower than average, there are many pumps to choose from, they have a lot of food available for a gas station, and there are a good number of auxiliary services available, too (like the car wash and the pet wash, although I never use them). I've stopped in here many times just to eat dinner, as it is big enough to have a "Cravin's - To Order" in there (basically, a mix of a pizzeria/breakfast food shop). It is also a good place to pick up a fountain drink and coffee (take your pick!), as well as uniquely baked cookies (like their sugar cookies that change every few months, of which I am also a fan). There is also a NO-CHARGE ATM there and a place to sit down and eat the food you just bought. They know how to get the people coming back!!!! My only complaint is that I wish they would tone down that "Customer opening the door" noise that sounds when people enter/exit. I think it is a little too loud! And, with only that being the exception... I'd have to say this is what a five-star gas station looks like. read more

It is a bit hard to review gas stations - because they are so similar - this one is a good one. The place was clean and open, and the gas prices were better than anything around. Who would have thought we'd ever see $1.29 gas again - but we did at this location. This station had everything we needed and they also offered little plastic sheets to keep your hands clean. This was a nice touch in this era of the pandemic. Give this place a try - low prices and a nod to the pandemic concerns. Recommended. read more

After a couple more problems at Family Express I called the corporate office and demanded to speak to somebody in charge. The operations manager listened to the issues and promised to have the IT dept. look into the pump card reader problems. He also gave me a generous gift card for the troubles I've had at Family Express. FINALLY it seems FE is concerned about keeping their customers. I hope things will improve at Family Express- we need the gas competition in the Grape Road area. read more

The clerk wouldn't let me use my coupons. She said I was holding up her line. At that point, noone was behind me. My boyfriend went in and talked to her and brought me back in. She was again rude, stating " come back at 2:30, there will be someone else here to wait on you.". Mind you, I have given this business since they opened. I used to drive cab and purchased most of my gas there. Now, she refused to sell me 6 packs of cigarettes because my coupons are annoying. I would suggest, until she is fired, no one frequent this location. I had to go to another location to purchase my cigarettes, even though their rack was full. I guess cash isn't welcome there anymore. read more

Went there today to pick up some drinks and couple slices of pizxa. Got to the cashier and she's helping a lady process some lottery tickets. Several dozen lottery tickets. She tells me, and the 20 people behind me (I shit you not!), that another employee will be over shortly.10 minutes later, no other employee coming, I left. I can appreciate her devotion to lottery players, but she should've stopped for a minute and made sure another employee was coming. Hope the other 19 customers got the exceptional customer service that the lottery player did. read more

New facility, located on an awkward corner. Constantly have issues with their pay-at-pump system. Either the readers don't recognize my credit card and I have to go stand inside behind three people buying smokes, lotto tickets and chatting up the clerk, or they work but the printer has no paper and, again, I have to go stand inside behind three chatty lotto-smokers to get a receipt. Usually only one clerk on duty working the register, while 4-5 other employees are milling around like zombies, reheating pizza slices and rearranging snacks on shelves. I guess snacks need to be rearranged a lot. Brains. I only stop there if I absolutely need to at this point. i've reported the pump incidents to corporate, who always seem concerned, but the issues are never resolved nor do I get any follow up calls from the location's manager. read more

overall its a pretty great place between being in there at least twice a day and such i spend a good 200 a week here for gas and my morning coffee.. but once a month ill go in and i swear they hire bout the most ignorant trash they can find at hickory village to work there.. the idipt spence didnt kno how to tale a card payment and i was already running late to work.. but giving hes mentally challenged or whatever i say fine.. heres my 2 dollar coffee please dont dump ot as im already late, i live a block away.. i come back with pocket change not even a full minute later ans what does this big baboon of a devils reject do but take a break from his line of 8 customers to go dump mu coffee.. then waits for me to get to the counter aftwr waiting for his slow ass to tell me i need to.make.another.. family express us bout to lose a great customer base and even more money.. read more
