I wanted to send a message to let you know what a bad first impression and experience I had today…read moreat your McMurray children's location. I had called for information regarding your walk in children's clinic on Washington Rd in McMurray. Online the hours are stated to be 8:30 am, but I reached the after hours staff instead. I inquired about the walk in service stating we are new to the area and do not have an established pediatrician, but this location was in network. I was told I could come in for care for my son who has had a fever for 5 days. I walked in right after opening and the from desk staff member (middle aged, bob length light hair with glasses) was extremely rude from the get go. I asked about walk in service and said we weren't current patients, she actually scoffed and laughed at me and spoke to me as if I was ignorant asking me if I actually thought I could establish care during walk in hours and that we could not be seen. I asked where we could go and she just sighed and opened her mouth and stared at me without even a suggestion like MedExpress or the evening children's urgent care. I wish I could properly convey to you her words and attitude. In all of my years of having to deal with doctors, she was the absolute rudest person I have met. First of all, your website does not state same day walk in appointments are for CURRENT ESTABLISHED patients only. Second, I was given wrong information from the after hours staff. Third, I had no reason to be spoken to in that manner in front of a room of parents and my son who was asking why they would not see him for care. I was on the verge of tears. No parent who is in with a sick child on a Friday morning is having a good time. I get we all have bad days (mind you I have had a feverish child for 5 days so I am one of them), but this was uncalled for. I have yet to establish a primary office after moving to Pittsburgh, but I will certainly never go back to that office. In fact, I am shopping around for open enrollment for next year and this really left me with a bad impression of UPMC as a whole. I am not asking for anyone to bend over backwards for kindness, but my son and I certainly did not deserve her attitude. She (I wish I had her name but I can give a full description ) does not deserve to be in a room representing your office. I sent this to the UPMC staff as well. Regards.

A pediatrician's office is supposed to be a partner for families throughout childhood, but the care and attitude here have completely changed since the practice was bought out. What used to feel supportive now feels cold, disorganized, and dismissive. Phone calls are confusing and unhelpful. The online system is clunky. Simple requests like filling out a camp form turned into wasted hours because of their rigid policies and errors. The staff no longer guide or support parents. Instead, you have to guide them through what should be their job. The final straw was my son's recent appointment. Scheduled for 2:10, I left work early, pulled him out of school, fought through construction and parking, and walked in only a couple of minutes later. Their own staff delays checking me in pushed us over their supposed cutoff. Instead of compassion or an apology, I was met with indifference and told to reschedule. No acknowledgment of the effort or disruption to my family. Just a cold refusal. After years of loyalty, I am disgusted by how little they seem to care about kids and families now. I used to recommend this office to everyone. Today, I would strongly warn others to look elsewhere.

We interviewed Dr. Tyson to be my daughters doctor and decided to go with him. We had a few appointments with him after she was born then he was out of the office for quite some time. Apparently he no longer takes patients at the Robinson location and only works out of the Mt. Lebanon location. Wish they would've relayed that message to me at the beginning because I live closer to Mt. Lebo. We began to see Dr. Range while Dr. Tyson went MIA. She is great and we've really taken a liking to her so we still go to the Robinson location. The Mt. Lebanon office is open on Saturdays, which is great for unexpected doctor visits.

Lebanon office had a very "homey" feel but it looked a little dingy honestly. I took one of my children to the office last week and the office is remarkably cleaner and looks more organized. We had a nurse named Amber take us back and I can't say enough good things about her. She was so sweet and upbeat. We were concerned about strep so he needed to have that awful test done. He started getting panicky but she was so patient and gentle with him-kneeling down in front of him and explaining things in a way he could understand. Definitely recommend this practice.

We waited an additional half hour, but after 20 minutes, I asked at the nurse's desk how much longer it would be, and was told "The doctor will be in shortly". She wasn't. Infact, no one even came to take Daughter's vitals. So, we left. Daughter said she was sick. I called them Friday. They said call back today, and ask what time the doctor (Victoria Kisslinger) had available. I called first thing, and was told 3pm. We arrived a few minutes early, just behind a woman who was told she was over a half hour late, but they'd fit her in. She was seen less than 5 minutes upon arrival. We waited a half hour. Again. I actually asked after 25 minutes, how long it would be. 5 minutes later, the office manager ushered us into a room. She said Dr. Kisslinger was (again) running late. Again! I was sizzling. She apologized. She said it would be at least another half hour, and did we want to wait, or reschedule? I blew a gasket. I told her no, we did NOT want to wait, OR reschedule, we were leaving, and I was calling the insurance company to find a new doctor. We left. All together, we wasted over an hour waiting, spent almost $18 on public transportation, another $15 on food when Daughter and I got hungry waiting, and Daughter missed a couple hours of school. No one's going to reimburse me for that. However, posting a review here, and on Healthgrades will be good therapy.
