When researching this company, I was surprised there were so few detailed reviews, and that majority of photos were posted by the owner. I decided that if I were satisfied by the work done I would post one of my (hopefully) well written and detailed reviews. Here goes. How did I discover FAMILY GUTTERS? My husband had the dog-walking responsibility for 3 years. During those walks he would observe various contractors work on the multi-million $$ homes in our community of Old Floresta. And he would take photos of their trucks. And talk to the workers, if possible. He has been insistent that we get gutters underneath our flat roof where the water overflows, like a healthy waterfall, from the roof onto our Italian stone deck. And he gutters in the front, where the water drips onto our elaborately designed concrete driveway, and over the years stained the rough finished concrete. So I relented and took his recommendation, FAMILY GUTTERS, and obtained another recommendation from a construction company foreman whose knowledge and judgment I trust. Long story short(er), I obtained two proposals. The proposals were identical as to materials to be used and measurements. The difference? PRICE. FAMILY GUTTERS was $3000 (three thousand dollars) less. They provided references, workers' comp and liability insurance. The other company was a bit surly, sort of a know-it-all been in business 35 years attitude. FAMILY GUTTERS has a staff which answers their phones and if you leave a message your call is promptly returned. They confirm discussions either text messages. They prepared several proposals as I made changes. I had 8" semi round gutters installed this week with wide diameter downspouts. The work is impeccably done. The crew, ALINDER, MISGEL, and YUDR worked from 9:45 to 4:15 without stop. They left the area spotless. What more could anyone ask for? See the pictures of their work and of them. Need new gutters? Worst experience ever with this company, came out and installed gutters. After they were done, I noticed one of the four down spouts was three inches short from the ground. The other three were about a inch or less. I contacted company with text and phone calls. After questioning there Integrity, I feel like I shamed them into coming out. So instead of replacing down pipe, they placed a extension sticking out of my bushes by inches. Besides being a hazard and liability, it looks awful. If you use this company buyer beware. Inspect before making payment. Disappointed consumer Company called back and claimed they would come back out and correct concern. Now going on two weeks and still a trip hazard and liability in my front yard. Buyer beware, this company does not warranty their workmanship. Worst of all, they make promises and fail to deliver. I had four companies come to my home to give me estimates. Family Gutters was $800 to $1300 cheaper. I called them on a Monday and they said they could do the job on Friday and that they would call on Thursday to confirm. They did call on Thursday and said they would be at my house between 9 am and 10 am. A 3 man crew arrived at 9:30 am. They were done with everything we asked them to do in 3 hours. This company was extremely responsive. They came to give me a quote very quickly. They were on time and really seemed to know what they were doing. They recognized the trouble areas on my house and saw how the previous gutters were hung completely wrong and were damaging my home. When I was ready to work with them I got an appointment the same week they arrived exactly when they said they would, they didn't even require a deposit and they were on time and their crew worked hard and completed the gutter project in one day. We had a new house constructed and needed to have gutters. We had them come out for an estimate. The receptionist was friendly. The person they sent for the estimate was punctual, professional, and worked quickly. The price was manageable. The day of installation, the two guys came in a nice truck on time. They work quickly and cleanly and for two very picky homeowners, there was nothing to complain about. We found out recently that we have too much water coming off the roof than what can dump out of the gutter by the design of the roof. I called to have it looked at. They showed up a day early, which was nice, but not nice because we were not ready for them. Rather than upselling us for another gutter, they tried a less invasive fix and said to monitor it and cross that bridge if it comes to it. We havent had enough rain to see if it worked. read more
