I started my business with basically no clients. I was not a known Hair Stylist in the area. The East Cobber was one of my major sources of advertising. After about 5 years I was informed that my advertising costs would go up 100+%. I felt I was paying a fair price for my continuous monthly ad. The costs were going to go up 100+%. Wow! That was way out of my business budget! I thanked them and moved on. It was difficult to lose my main advertising source, but I felt the extreme jump was way to much for my business to absorb. Issue resolved. ----- Marietta Daily Journal My Request for Services - I contracted with The Henry Herald Online newspaper for newspaper services. Marietta Daily Journal owns the Henry Herald Newspaper. I paid a total of $54.38 between July 2025 and March 2026. The Issue - The services were never delivered. Response - I have contacted management repeatedly over a three-month period between March 4, 2026 and June 10, 2026. On March 24th, Marietta Daily Journal representatives explicitly acknowledged the error via telephone and requested me to send a detailed list of transactions in question. They promised a full reimbursement. Status - Despite these explicit admissions of fault and multiple promises to pay, the business has failed to issue the refund and continues to delay resolution.

But still its great for local news and if you are looking for things to do on the weekend these guys have you covered. After we stopped going to Thomaston as frequently, I had to get a subscription to make sure I didn't miss an issue. 4 times a year I read it from cover to cover. I particularly enjoy when they have a story about the Savannah area or the Tattnall County area where my parents were from. The variety of stories keep it all interesting and I have learned a lot that has helped in my genealogy research. You never know, your family may show up in a story. Oh yeah, there's lots of old pictures too if you just want to browse.
