Had a mishap with my flute that required immediate attention. Plus I had a tenor sax neck that needed new cork. Called Family Melody Centers and spoke to Nick the resident woodwind repairman. When I got there, found Family Melody Centers is a state-of-the-art repair facility (it's been years since I been here). Nick was able to see me right away. Everyone there is friendly. Nick worked on my flute and sax neck while I waited. Fair price. FYI When I was a kid I came here for music lessons back in the 1970s. Highly recommend. A community treasure! read more

Wanted an inexpensive student viola for our grandson. Called ahead to the store and was told they had them in stock, at the price we were pleased with. So, drove 40 miles to the store only to find out that the information given to us over the phone was 100% wrong and what we were told they had in stock did not exist! I will never use this establishment ever again!! This is my 2nd issue with them. I figured I would give them another shot. But this time the results were worse. So I took my daughters sax in for a basic clean, replace pads and tune job and when we picked it up, her case had impact damage (hole) at the bottom of her new case, plus missing one rubber bumper on the bottom of her case. The sax looked like it was never cleaned. Dirt in between the keys and pads. They did not replace all the pads like I asked. Very unhappy with the service. They discounted the service after I pointed out the damage and the condition of the sax but I still have buy another new case for her and her sax doesn't even look clean like it was serviced at all. read more

I NEVER write a bad review about anything and if I do write a review its only a positive one with the exception of this dump. Be prepared to give up your first born child or donate blood to try and rent an instrument from here. The information that you have to provide them with may as well ask for the deed to your home also. We are talking about an instrument here not a car or a boat or a plane. A simple, metal, used, instrument!!! Since they are that difficult and expensive to work with, I chose to walk down to O'Neils on the four corners and I was able to SIMPLY rent what i needed. Renters beware of this place that I'd call a scam. I have no idea how they've been in business for as long as they have. If I was musically inclined, I'd open a rental store right next to them and show them what customer service is all about!!! read more

Great customer service. My son had a Nyssma audition and 2 hours before it, his saxophone had an issue. This was 6pm on a Friday night. We brought it in, but although they were unable to make a quick fix, they loaned us another to use for the audition. Luckily, we were able to get the audition moved to the next afternoon and in that time, Family Melody Center had his saxophone fixed. When we picked up the sax Saturday morning, my son was asked how the audition went (we told them it was rescheduled) then they wished him luck. Everyone in the store said hello and goodbye even though they were very busy. Great experience! read more

Do not rent, do not spend your money here. The quality of the instruments is terrible. The service is even worse. The owner is very rude and has lost me as a customer and I will tell everyone I know to stay away. Don't sign a contract with them. Don't spend your money here. read more

Great customer service. I have been to this store a few times over the years for my daughter and never had any problems. The staff is friendly and will answer any questions you might have. I purchased an electric guitar for my daughter as a graduation present and the sales person was very helpful. He took the time to answer my questions and was not pushing a sale.
