I'm glad I listened to my intuition because when I looked up, I saw a sign.. literally. In red and white letters it read "NY Music Garage" and below it a window decal which exclaimed "A Different Kind of Music Store." As soon as I walked in it was clear that those words were true. I was immediately greeted with a warm welcome. I had initially planned to just scope out their collection and perhaps jam, while getting to know the store, but with so many affordable goodies around, I just had to shop. The awesome fellas there helped me pick up a perfectly fitting guitar slide, a strap lock and even a homemade guitar-shaped cutting board!! It's made of walnut, shaped like a Les Paul and sealed in food-grade sealant... how cool is that?! They even had two other variations, a tele and and a strat. After all that shopping, I was ready to try some guitars. They kindly guided me to a private practice room, which had plenty of space to move around, several fun amps and phenomenal acoustics. Looking around the store, it was clear they carried an awesome collection of new, used and vintage axes... all at fair & reasonable prices too! I'm absolutely stoked with my haul and will definitely be back next time I'm out in Huntington! Thanks fellas!

!!BEWARE!! Weiner…read moremusic is a SCAM Specifically ordered the old style Clark fobes barrel. They sent me the new version. I emailed them right after delivery about this and received no response, but on their website they updated the photo after my email. I called them and said I wanted the old barrel if you can check stock and if not available call me and set up a return. They falsely advertised the incorrect product, and blamed me for this. They deducted $9 for a cleaning fee of a barrel that was never used, and again the incorrect item. The people working the phones are morons and scammers. I utilized this place for years and referring my students to purchase equipment and instruments since 2015. And buying reeds while on broadway tours. That all ends NOW Take your business elsewhere. Photos below show my email complaint. The original photo on my invoice for the barrel I wanted (very blurry pic) and then the return invoice minus $9 with the updated new barrel (that I didn't want)

Because they stuff they have here is an amazingly curated smorgasbord of rare, quirky, or otherwise vintage instruments. I stopped in just to check out their acoustic room in the back. Played some guitars, the lone banjo they had, and an acoustic bass. Then went back around to look at all their oddball guitars (in a good way). The guy manning the front desk and helping people out in between doing a guitar setup was super cool to talk to.

This is the kind of independent guitar shop we should all be so lucky to have nearby. We need more…read moreshops like this and less of the utterly devoid of character and corporate mega-store monstrosities like Guitar Center. Personalized attention, friendly and knowledgeable staff. They helped me set-up a new guitar and install locking-tuners, two things I am not confident enough to do myself. The prices are more than reasonable and the turnaround is fast.
