EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I chose to try Family Nails for the first time because the reviews were great and the pictures made it look like they did really good nail art. HOWEVER, my experience was completely different than I was expecting and or hoping for! Let's start from the beginning... I had called about 15 minutes before arriving to make sure they weren't too busy to take walk-ins, as I walked in the lady who originally addressed me was very sweet and nice. I showed the lady what I was wanting and she said very confidently "YES, we can do that!" I was super excited because she didn't even hesitate, so she made me feel as if they knew exactly how to do it. Honestly, it was a really pretty nail art and I also knew that it couldn't have been done by someone who DIDN'T know how it was done. So after waiting only about 5 minutes I was told to go sit at the last table to get started, I sat down and a guy I'm assuming has to be the owner started to put my acrylic nails on. He was very efficient and did a good job at the acrylic nail application. Once it came to the nail art however; He asked to see the picture, I showed him and he didn't look so confident in how to do what I was wanting. I told him I had a video of how the art was done if he wanted to see it so he could know if he was able to do it. He REFUSED to watch the video and proceeded to just guess at how he "thought" it was done. I tried to tell him many times he was not doing it right and what he needed to do, he continually ignored me reassuring me it would look like I wanted when he was done. I finally just have up trying to help/ tell him I wasn't liking it and let him do his thing hoping I would at least be satisfied with the end result. After 45 minutes he was finally done, I was tired of sitting and ready to leave. I was NOT happy with the nail art but just wanted to pay and leave. Note: The whole time I was there not once was I quoted a price for anything, which I don't really care about I would have paid whatever and tipped on top if I was satisfied with the work. When I went to pay I asked him how much it was he replied "$60" I told him I was not completely satisfied or happy with the nails but would pay him $45 for them. He then told me that if I was not happy with them than I could go sit down again and he would remove the nails. After telling him no I wasn't going to sit down for him to remove the nails. Which everyone knows if you get your nails done, removing them forcefully DOES NOT feel good at all! He refused to let me get barely two words out, cutting me off and getting louder by the minute. He argued I should have told him I wasn't liking the nails totally refusing to acknowledge that I had tried, many times and he ignored me every time, telling me it would look better once the top coat was on. I finally looked at him and said "If you don't want to take my $45 than I would be very happy to just leave, I will not stand here and argue with you." He started yelling he's going to take the nails off and went to get clippers I assume, so I walked out! He came out yelling at me more and I just got in my vehicle and left! This was by far the absolute best experience I've had getting my nails done. My technician was Kieu. She was amazing and gentle with my fingers. I told her my nails were sensitive and she accommodated me. She perfected my nails and I would 13/10 recommend her. Kieu, you're great! A coworker recommended this place and I had my doubts. But there was only one way to find out. When I walked in I was greeted with 'hello honey'. At first there was a misunderstanding with one of the male technicians. The guy was rude and immediately started speaking Chinese sounding angry. I got frustrated and thought well this is going to be another sh*t place because my previous experience with a male nail tech didn't go so well-he was lazy. read more

I went on last Sunday, They were fairly busy, but there was an available elderly man that was available to do my nails. I went there for a full set of nails and a pedi. He right away told me my toe nails were clean and that did not give him much to work with. He spent very few minutes on a Pedi. The nails were a NIGHTMARE! He told me that he is the MASTER of the nails and if I show him a picture of any nails I like that he could do as good or better. My nails are unbelievable. He asked me to show the boss because he was so proud of himself and she was busy with her own client and barely looked at them. This man kept bragging on himself during the entire time and told me my fingers are crooked and that makes them hard. I feel Cheated and frustrated!!! I learned a lesson to NEVER go there again. read more

I have been here multiple times now because the woman who owns the place is very nice and very good at what she does. This third time I went, yesterday, changed EVERYTHING!!!!! I didn't see kieu, her husband was there and it was so bad I feel like I could press charges of assault. First of all he approached me asking what I wanted. I had oval acrylics on that his wife put on. The first time I went I got stiletto acrylics with marbled design and she added more adorable designs on two other nails. Anyway, I told him I wanted a mani/pedi just paint over my real nails and even though one nail had broken last week I wanted all my good nails to stay the length they were. He never even soaked my nails to help take them off. He just ripped away and when he used the buffer tool it hurt bad multiple times. He dogged his own wife's previous nail job too, he had no clue it was his wife's artwork he was verbally sitting all over. He then started to put new acrylics on and I said no I don't want acrylics. He instantly started cutting my nails, I was so furious I started to cry. He was like, why you cry?!! I told him exactly why with him doing EVERYTHING opposite of what I asked for as a paying customer. He started to ARGUE WITH ME!!!! I ripped my hands back from him and left. I was there for two hours. For them to do my daughters nails (that are tiny) she's 9. They charged me $55 just for my daughters nails and they claim they do eyebrow tint when all they did was use an eyebrow pencil like you use at home. They said the tint would last 3 weeks. An eyebrow pencil will wash off when you wash your face one time. I asked her not to tweeze my eye brows, she still did, I asked her if I could pick what shape I wanted, she never showed me any kind of paper with the shape on them. When she was done my eyebrows looked like she used a permanent marker to do them. I said absolutely not. They are too dark. I asked for brown, considering I'm a brunette. She used fingernail polish remover on my eyebrows after she tweezed them to try and make the color lighter. Had to do it a 3rd time, and by then I just said never mind. So, they said they would charge me $8 dollars for them. When I was ready to leave, and at the counter, they said I owed them $75. They literally charged me $20 to draw on my eyebrows with a dollar tree eyebrow pencil. Pathetic. He was so rude to me, and to my child. And, the old lady didn't speak any English, but still was acting upset and I felt like I was being cussed out in their language. I will never go back there, and I hope you don't either. It said on the wall that my daughters nails would have been $30 but because they shaped baby nails a smaller shape they charged me almost twice the price. SHAMEFUL. I just moved from NC in July and needed a salon that specialized & used the brand "dip gel" SNS- well I found both it and an excellent nail tech named ALEX!!! He really knew how to apply this product exceptionally well and took the extra time with me that was needed. I found my new place, after a few bad experiences in other local businesses, and am so very happy! The pedicure I received was so relaxing- there is an extensive "pedicure menu" for any amount of time you have available to spend. Plan to spend that extra hour if you can because it's worth it!!! read more

I had a great mani/ pedi w/ Flora. She is a perfectionist and my hands and feet were pretty bad! She made them beautiful. I loved that they used liners in pedi tub. The one thing that I didn't like was the TV station that was playing. I would much prefer a cooking channel or something light as opposed to political. I came here upon a recommendation. I needed a gel nail polish removal and a fresh coat. Price was decent, only $20. Rose pushed/scraped off the old polish, upon request, very nicely. Then she proceeded to shape my nails with cuticle nippers. Afterwards she began applying polish without smoothing the nail tips. I mentioned this and she said, "Later.". Upon completion of painting and setting the polish she THEN somewhat filed the tips. I tried to get her to have them smooth as they were snagging (gently) on fabrics. Gave up and left. Three days later I returned with a chipped nail. Her repair job was to pop off my whole nail bed of polish. My eyes popped too. SEVEN days later I now have 4 chipped nails. (I use rubber gloves and have been doing gel nail polish awhile so I do know proper care techniques.) Soooo disgruntled I stopped at another salon for new nail job and at their urging (paying for bad job, to get done right) I returned again to Family Nails to get more repairs. I REALLY didn't want Rose, but there I was, back in her chair. She "gave" me a do-over for free, but she wasn't as gentle in removing the polish. She tries popping off polish nail beds again but I told her no. She did a number on my nail beds and my nail tips are rough again. (She uses too large a grade nail file on tips). Worst pedicure I've ever had. Not only was it $42 for the most basic pedicure, it was painful and turned out horrible. Definitely not worth that price. I've never paid that much for a pedicure before. The gentleman actually hurt me, and I mean hurt me to the point where I was holding back my tears and jerked from him. He clipped off my skin so bad that I wouldn't stop bleeding. He put acetone on it, which not only made it hurt like hell, but made it bleed more. The color actually was wrong and the paint job was not good. I ended up fixing it when I got home. I'm so beyond disappointed with my service. I will never be back. read more

Came down from Queens and needed a mani/pedi desperately. Rose does magic, going above and beyond any other nail tech I have ever met. It was heavenly. The prices are no different than any other nail salon. I brought in my on polish because I love the quality and won't use the salon's.
