I went to the ER after a several weeks of discomfort and was found to have a torn rotator cuff (a large tear). Once my case was referred to Dr. Lichtman, things happened pretty quick. After surgery, I spent 6 weeks in a sling and then started physical therapy. Since June, 5 months after surgery, I've returned to full range of motion, my strength is back enough to reengage in maintaining my 3 acres (carefully)... and I'm pain free. In my surgery, Dr. Lichtman did multiple repairs for the tear, bone spurs and early-stage arthritis. I had four follow-up visits with him (not his staff) where he assessed my progress and answered questions. I couldn't be more pleased with the entire process, including Sutter Health's staff, facilities, process... and my physical therapist, Eric P. THANKS!

Golden State Medical is no exception. My doctor sent them a prescription for a TENS Machine back in Oct. 2017. As I was having Insurance issues at the time, I will take responsibility for this order to have fallen through the cracks. However, once straightened out in Jan 2018, the order was renewed and expected to have it Feb. 2018... March 2018 - Nothing... After my contacting the Doctor, the PT Clinic and GSM, I found that the Prescription had completely disappeared, gone up in smoke and as such, it could not be found and no one bothered to follow up! Apr. 2018 - I contacted my Doctor and was told by them that the prescription had been fax'd twice in the past 2 weeks, but that they would do it again and then call to make sure it had been received! Another week - Called PT Tech... Says still no record of receipt???? WTF??? Does anyone actually do their job, anymore? A couple of days later... I get a call from a man named Bob Ramos from GSM... Very nice...Told me had all he needed, it would just be another 4-5 business days to dot the T's and Cross the I's... No problem.. Well it is now, May 2018... After calling Bob and leaving 2 messages, and getting no call back...I finally got through to him only to be told he had done this and he had done that but still needed this and still needed that...Anymore, I told him that at this point I was no longer interested in their equipment and that I would simply attach a negative lead, and a positive lead to a car battery and then attach the two leads to the area in my back where I seem to have the highest level of pain! Now, I don't specifically blame Bob... I mean he is merely an employee at GSM and he can't possibly be held accountable for their shortcomings... I mean hell, that would be like holding the chef at a 4 star restaurant responsible for the food being served raw! Wait a minute???

I started working with James for…read moremy shoulder from volleyball wear and tear and then later issues with my neck from extensive computer use. Last year I had ACL reconstruction and James helped me with range of motion prior to surgery and has been helping me progress since the surgery. I overused my knee a couple of months ago as I was starting to see my physical ability come back and set myself back by about 2 months. This was the same time my work schedule ramped up and I was sitting for far too many hours a day unsupported. James helped me identify what was limiting my progress to focus on that so I could finally get back to the gym and rebuild my strength. James always sends me out the door with exercises that focus on and progress my own ability on my time to build strength and uses the time in his office to really work through my issues. I cannot recommend James and Placer Physical Therapy enough. Their office is clean and organized, Kristi at the front desk is attentive, thorough and efficient and Jeremy has helped my brother through his own hamstring issues. While I initially overlooked the short tone, the conversation continued in a way that felt rude and condescending throughout the call. To the point that I told her she did not need to be rude. First interactions matter, especially in healthcare, where patients have many provider options to choose from. The initial phone call often determines whether someone feels comfortable moving forward with a practice or seeking care elsewhere. Professionalism, courtesy, and compassion from front office staff are essential and can significantly impact a patient's decision and overall perception of the practice. This employee does not care if the practice is successful or not.
