signed up with Family Tree Estate Planning a few years ago, and after going through it myself, I got my parents and my aunt to join too. It's just been really nice having a place that explains things in normal language instead of legal-eagle riddles. There are some DIY parts (mostly funding the trust), but they walk you through it. You just have to have the follow through. They also give you lifetime free updates and free yearly reviews. My aunt actually switched from her old attorney because he charged her for every tiny update--like, even small changes came with a new bill. With Family Tree, she can just call and get things adjusted. When my mom passed in 2024, their team helped me sort through everything that needed to move through her trust. We did have to pay for probate on one account, but that was on us--she never retitled it into the trust. If she had, probate wouldn't have been necessary at all. It was a good reminder that you can't just stick the estate planning folder they give you in a drawer and forget it exists. They also updated the trust for just my dads situation once it was all settled. The only cost was the probate, the help, the new trust for my dad, the advice etc was all part of the service they offer. More recently, my aunt had a messy inherited IRA issue that Wells Fargo completely botched. When she asked for senior management, the WF manager told her they dont monitor regulations for IRA accounts and that's what CPAs are for (which is really upsetting, I'm pretty sure if you manage it you should be responsible for knowing the rules...) It was an IRA that had been inherited twice, and Wells Fargo told her she didn't have to take distributions... which was very wrong and could've gotten her in trouble with her taxes. Jason stepped in, reviewed the account, checked the laws, and even pulled in their CPA to confirm everything. He got it sorted out quickly, and my aunt finally understood what was actually required. Overall, Jason and the staff have been helpful and patient. Having a team that actually supports you and explains things clearly makes a huge difference. I definitely recommend them. read more

Their service has declined in the last several months. It took them 2 months to make a simple revision. When I received it, it wasn't pre notarized like previous revisions and when I emailed them about it I received no response. It worries me for they are my successor trustee and if this is their service model what will happen with my estate once I have died. I paid them 900 dollars 5 years ago and they were great. Now I don't really want to go through the process and expense with a new estate planning company but guess that's what I need to do. read more

We have been looking to do a Living Trust for some time. I attended a presentation two years ago in Lake Havasu. I contacted them this year to attend again and was told it was full. Family Planning made arraignments for a private presentation. They were extremely helpful and got us taken care of right away. The cost was extremely reasonable. We had a Family Trust already with few updates but we thought we go with Family Tree Estate Planning to have all updates included in the new Trust. They were on time and very efficient to come and collect the deposit and the rest of the money. When they delivered the Document we requested a very simple change like increase the percentages of the five heirs. That change of 10 characters took three weeks to change and this one page was sent in a letter envelope with three folds. After we complained and send a photo of the folded and wrinkled page, they sent us another in a page envelope. Not sure if it was the extra 50 cents stamp or the IQ. As a new Arizona resident I had been looking for a company to revise my Living Trust that I had gotten done when I lived in California. Having paid nearly a thousand dollars for their service, I am not especially impressed. I assume the certificate of trust and my will are done right. But my estate had two pieces of real estate, on which they were asked to get the deeds changed to name the trust and myself, removing my husband's name since he was deceased. Nearly a year later, I get the tax papers for the new year, and find that the re-deed was only done for one of the two properties. Good thing I noticed before I passed away and left it for my kids to fix. read more

HARASSMENT!!!!! In the spring of 2020, I had to cancel an appointment I had for a family trust. Unable to reschedule at that time, they kept calling me for months even though I told them "Don't call me , I'll call you". After a short break they started calling again every 3 weeks or so. In mid February 2021, I get a call from Chris trying to schedule me again. Again i told him I was not interested in doing business with Family Tree Planning and not to call me anymore, then hung up. March 3, 2021, THEY CALL AGAIN!! By now I am fed up with this harassment. I tell him off and hang up. He immediately calls me back, still trying to make an appointment. (Obviously he just isn't getting the message!) I tell him off and hang up. He calls me right back and proceeds to call me an a-hole and to f-off. Real professional!! BEWARE!!!! My husband and I totally agree with Jame E. We have had almost the exact same experience dealing with Jason Wooten with Family Tree Estate Planning. July 28 will be one year since we initiated establishing a Trust with Jason. He was supposed to get eight lots which we own in Florida re-titled into our Trust. To date, he has still NOT taken care of this. Just as the experience James E. said he had, Jason was a great salesperson, yet after he collected the balance in full he has been nearly impossible to reach by phone, and does NOT respond to emails. This has cost me untold time in trying to reach Jason via phone and emails. Five days ago he promised to email the documents necessary to get these lots re-titled. He said all we needed to do was to get our signatures notarized. Given that was the case, we were perplexed as to WHY he had not just simply emailed the documents or sent them via snail mail months ago??? However, in keeping with his lack of professionalism, he has still NOT emailed the documents, nor has he responded to my 'reminder' email. I'm writing this review based on my parents experience. My parents have been searching for a company to do their living trust for quite some time now, but with some difficult circumstances going on with our family through the past couple years it was rough finding it in the budget. One thing that caught my parents eye was the free consultation. Sean was the rep who met with them, and helped explain the whole probate process how they could assist with my parents wants and needs. He was also very helpful by offering a payment plan for them since they're on a fixed income at the moment. My mom had no problems rescheduling the delivery because they wanted me to sit in on the delivery of the trust.
