Placed an order for pick up at this store (mind you, I never shop here but found something cute and bought it on a whim) - and have been attempting to pick it up all week. Every time I go, they are "closed due to short staffing" and I have called multiple times trying to reach someone with no answer. Manager is on vacation I'm told and messed up the schedule. I called the 1-800 number and they say they can't cancel the order on their end it has to be cancelled in store, which is never open. Essentially they just ripped me off completely. Walked in looking for work boots and was shown that they stock 1 decorative pair of women's work boots. Went over to the men's section and they had TWELVE pairs! All with different features and types. I guess it doesn't matter if my toes are crushed on the job, as long as I'm looking stylish? Come on famous footwear. Do better. read more

One star for the customer service. A cashier with greasy silver hair (she looked like she had a rough night and didn't get to freshen up before she went to work) copped a little attitude when she checked me out. She told me to pick a method to receive my receipt on the credit card machine. So I chose the email option and was entering in my email when I hear the cashier's voice repeating that "it's JUST asking how you want the receipt." She seemed annoyed. Then asked if I wanted a bag, I said yes and made a comment that the lid of the shoe box may not hold (justifying why I wanted a bag). She then put the box in the bag without closing the lid so the shoes fell out. I felt like it was amateur hour. So I opened the bag on the counter and readjusted the shoes back into the box, closed the lid, then re-bagged it appropriately. Then as I made my way to the door, I hear her voice yelling "have a great day!" I know I can't be expecting too much. It's not like I walked into a Hermès, but I wasn't in a flea market in the ghetto either. read more

The manager was very rude and unprofessional Donald Ream. From the moment I walked up to complete my transaction. I had to complete a return of two shoes from two separate orders and I was purchasing three more shoes. When I asked for my slips back he denied me, when I asked a question about pricing he became more rude and told me it is done. I told him I had another offer and was trying to find it in my email, and he stated you are holding up the line. You can get back in line when you find what you are looking for I have customers to take care of. I then told him I am your customer and he told me, No I can just cancel this transaction and you can go somewhere else. I told him it was very rude and unacceptable he was treating me this way and accusing me of being the aggressor in the situation because I wanted my slip back and asked questions about pricing. When I asked for the slip to take a picture for my records he pulled it away. In the end he told me you can have the slip back because whatever he thought he needed was also on the receipt after the transaction was completed. For this reason I shop online for the majority of the time. This manager needs retraining on how to treat people the same. read more

This place is a mess. We went in today and it was hard to even find your size in the type of shoe displayed. There were stacks of shoes everywhere, in all the aisles. It was hard to walk though. It was like Black Friday but on a random Saturday. I'm not sure anyone was even working, we never saw anyone working while we were there. I've never seen a Famous Footwear that is such a mess. I love this Famous Footwear in Bend! I had no idea they had every name brand, top rated shoes in the US! When I discovered that I didn't have to run all over town to get what I needed and compare prices, I was really excited! Their staff is super helpful and surprisingly every time I have gone in I have been able to purchase one pair of shoes and have gotten a 2nd pair half off! Gave is so kind, respectful, helpful and goes above and beyond to help out! Thank you Famous Footwear! I will be back! I highly recommend this store! read more

My wife went in with our two kids to get some shoes. She was there for over 30 minutes picking out shoes, chasing around kids, etc. Finally finds the pair she wanted, she goes to buy them, but the credit card was in my name and not hers (same last name, since we are married), the employee John immediately and intuitively asks if it was her husband's card, and she said yes, and right away, very un apologetically says "can't take the card it's not in your name", and said it's against store policy, with a smirk on his face. He was almost happy and eager, giddy even, to reject my wife's payment and send her home without the shoes to get a different credit card. My wife pleaded with him to accept the card, that she would have to get the kids in the car and couldn't come back until after they had a nap, she reasoned with him and showing she has the same last name, but he didn't care. It brought him so much joy to send my wife home empty handed, a tremendous amount of wasted time and trouble, and he was so happy about it. There was NO reason for him to not accept the card, especially since she was obviously well dressed, not sketchy or ghetto looking at all, with kids and has the same last name on the card. She explained how she has NEVER had her ID checked for a purchase and NEVER been told she couldn't make the purchase, ANYWHERE in Bend in the last 5 years of living here. I then called him while my wife was still at the store, and said I was her husband and could verify anything, and explaining how much trouble it was for my wife, but he didn't care. He practically laughed at me and certainly was mocking me in his sarcastic tone, I tried to reason with him and also asked what kind of person would do this, and then he proceeded to hang up the phone on me, repeatedly. I would call back and he would say some disrespectful words and hang up on me before I could even speak. This happened about 5 times, yes, really, an actual 'employee' rudely hanging up on you unrelentingly. I then spoke with the corporate office, who weren't really that helpful, and said he technically had the right to reject the card, he also had the right to accept it. As for his behavior, they were supposed to have the regional or store manager contact me, but they never did, even after I told them I was going to leave bad reviews (I also told this to John, but do you think he cared at all? he was probably trying to get fired for all I know, you know how the millennial youths of today are ;). My wife never actually got those shoes, and later found the exact same pair online for 30 bucks cheaper! Avoid Famous Footwear at ALL COSTS, they care NOTHING for their customers! NOTHING!! This was the WORST experience ever. I ordered some shoes to be sent to my apt. They put the wrong apt # so i never got them. after almost a month of waiting I was told to call customer service, which i don't feel like is my responsibility. They made the mistake, they need to correct it, NOT the customer. After 3 days of trying i finally got ahold of customer service and was told that my case would be send to the fraud prevention department for investigation. What?!?! It's right there in black and white. They were sent to the wrong place. Common sense would tell someone to say, "sorry sir, our mistake, we will get you another pair sent out asap." But i was told that the fraud department would email me in about another month or so with their findings. (steam coming out of my ears) so after nearly 2 months I will get an email telling me how dumb they are??? Then I guess at that point they will put in another order for my shoes so I can wait yet another month to hopefully get them? Buyer beware! Terrible shoes at terrible prices with terrible customer service thrown in. My sons shoes lasted less than 2 months. The soles completely separated from the shoe. When I went to return them I was told by the man working there that I waited too long, it was beyond the 60 day limit. Also, he said they were not defective, I had just failed to add waterproofing to them. Then he produced a can of waterproofing that I guess the shoes there require in order to remain functional. I have to question the quality of any pair of shoes that won't stay together without the consumer adding some kind of glue. After having my intelligence insulted, my son still needs new shoes and I feel like I've been robbed. We will not be buying anything again at famous footware. read more

It was my first time going here and it was not a good experience. The worker (I believe it was Jon) was rude and not helpful.

PATHETIC! Shoes purchased, drove over to Bed Bath & Beyond, walked in and walked out in pain from shoes. Drove back to F Footware(20 minutes post purchase) only to find they would not take the shoes back! No wear, no dirt and no return! Look all you want, but DO NOT BUY HERE! As soon as you are out the door, all civil customer service and any semblance of any consumer savvy awareness, goes out the door with you and your final purchase. Thoughts of returning should have ended on upon your exit. Store should post signage "PURCHASE AT YOUR OWN RISK- ALL SELLER RESPONSIBILITY ENDS AS YOU CLOSE THE DOOR BEHIND YOU".
