Ms Cole was able to create a plan to make sure that I was taken care of on my wedding day and had it booked in her calendar with no deposit. Ms Cole was able to style my hair with extensions within 45 minutes (I came with my hair washed and dried)! I was very surprised, but happy as I was early for our wedding. I was happy with my hair and I received many compliments on it the day of and after. Ms. Cole's price was a little higher than I usually pay for professional styling, but within the price range for bridal styles in the area; in fact I think she was a bit low for total service (bridal style with ext) for the area as well. Her location is right across the street from Crazy Pins. She's a busy lady, so you want to book her quick! Ms. Cole was also willing to speak with my via cell, email, and text regarding any questions I had, which I really appreciated being very accessible. Ms. Cole was very professional, kind, and fast! I do know Ms. Cole travels to Chicago once a month to service her regular customers there.

I have been natural for a year now, but prior to transitioning Shawana helped encourage me every step of the way because she understood the journey I was embarking upon. She was extremely informative and patient throughout my process. Any questions I had about my hair she took time to explain, but most of all she made sure I was able to understand how to care for it myself in order to maintain its integrity in off weeks. Shawana is not just a stylist she is a teacher. I also have 3 daughters who are natural and the growth I have seen in their hair has been amazing. She somehow manages to address their individual needs and personality each time she sees them. This can be a challenge since they range in ages from 6 to 15, but everytime my children leave they look age appropriate and they are all happy. One of my favorite things about Shawana is that she is by appointment only! Gone are the days of sitting in a salon waiting for a stylist who has 3 or 4 other clients with my same appointment time. I am usually finished within 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending on the service I am having. Who could ask for anything more!!!! There is so much I could say about her, but if you don't do anything else at least take the time to do a consultation and determine for yourself the next step you would like to take. She is Fort Wayne's best kept secret, and it won't be long before those appointments become harder to come by as the word gets out. I guarantee it will be worth your time.

Over the course of seven months and repeated color appointments, my hair gradually became muddy and ashy while breakage and loss of fullness slowly progressed. Because the color changed gradually and the breakage happened over time, I didn't realize the extent of the damage until it had become significant. When I raised my concerns, I asked for a refund. Instead, management pushed for a complimentary blonding service and conditioning treatment. I explained that I was nervous to trust the salon with my hair again, but after getting nowhere with my refund request, I agreed in good faith, hoping they would make things right. I should have trusted my intuition. The complimentary service left me with even more breakage, and I was disappointed with the quality of the highlights themselves. After that appointment, I had no choice but to cut off a substantial amount of length and return to brunette. I've invested a lot of money on corrective color, haircuts, repair treatments, masks, and supplements in an effort to restore my hair. The worst part of my experience wasn't just the damage--it was how the salon handled my concerns. Each time I raised them, I felt management shifted the blame back onto me instead of taking accountability. They later claimed I had "refused styling," suggesting they couldn't properly assess my hair after the complimentary service. That wasn't my experience. I received the blowout I requested--I simply declined a specific type of curls because they weren't my preferred style. To me, that reflected a pattern of shifting responsibility rather than addressing my concerns. A no-refund policy may make sense when someone simply doesn't like their hair. Damage is different. I believe situations involving damage deserve accountability, not blame. Despite my efforts to communicate professionally and resolve this privately, the salon ultimately responded through legal counsel instead of working toward a fair resolution. From my perspective, that felt like an extreme response to a client who was simply asking the salon to stand behind their work. The true measure of a salon isn't how it treats clients when everything goes right--it's how it responds when something goes wrong.
