I had been growing out my natural grey for more than three years. Taylor, my regular stylist here,…read morehas done a phenomenal job and estimated I had only 6-8 inches of previously colored hair left before my grow-out was complete. The remaining bleached ends turned orange as toner faded. Because toner didn't last, I decided to have permanent color applied to those orange sections. Taylor was on vacation, so on August 4 I was scheduled with another stylist who has more than 30 years of experience. There was no misunderstanding about what I wanted. The stylist's own appointment notes state: "She wanted permanent color used on the orange sections only from grown out highlights." During the application, I was away from the mirror. I told the stylist it felt like she was applying color much farther up than she should be. She assured me she was not going too far up. I trusted her. Unfortunately, my instinct was correct. Permanent dark color was applied far into years of my natural grey. Before this appointment, I had approximately 14 inches of natural grey and only 6-8 inches of previously colored hair remaining. Afterward, only about 3-4 inches of natural grey remained visible. My hair now looks like I only recently started growing it out. This cannot simply be undone. Calista, the salon owner, explained that removing the permanent color could leave warmth or orange tones in hair that had previously been my untouched natural grey. The salon refunded the color service. I appreciate the refund, but it is not compensation for what was lost. It returned the money I paid for a service that was not performed as agreed. I repeatedly tried to work directly with Calista on a reasonable solution. I am not trying to profit from this. I want my hair to look reasonably close to how it looked before this appointment while my grey grows back. I proposed grey-blended extensions with maintenance as a temporary solution. Calista acknowledged extensions were an option but said the salon could not fund the full cost. She explained this by quoting customer retail prices: $300-$700+ for hair, $100/hour for installation, and maintenance every 4-12 weeks. She then offered me a consultation to discuss options. I explained that those are retail prices, not the salon's actual cost. If she was unwilling to provide extensions and maintenance, I asked what alternative she would offer. A consultation made no sense until I knew what the salon was actually offering to address the loss. I received no response. After nearly a week, I followed up again. I explained that the financial consequences of correcting an employee's mistake should not be passed to the customer. The salon caused the problem, yet the proposed next step appeared to be for me to return and pay for services to correct or disguise it. I should not have to spend my own money trying to make my hair look the way it did before the salon's mistake. I again asked what the salon was willing to do to fairly address what happened and said I preferred to resolve this directly with Calista. She has not responded. This was preventable. I explained what I wanted, and the stylist documented it correctly. I questioned her during application because I felt the color being taken too high and was reassured it wasn't. Yet permanent color was applied to years of natural grey that was never supposed to be colored. Hair grows slowly. More than three years of natural growth cannot be recreated with a refund. I am not asking to be better off than I was before I walked into this salon. I have asked for a reasonable solution that allows my hair to look as close as possible to the way it looked before this service while my natural grey grows back. I gave the owner multiple opportunities to propose a solution privately. I still do not know what, if anything, she will do beyond the refund. I am devastated by what happened to my hair and equally disappointed by how it has been handled.

This place has a bad vibe all around. While these people have a past with someone leaving an honest…read morereview they get salty and try to play the blame game instead of accepting their mistake. it's unnecessary to rope previous drama and harsh language into it, posting YOUR side of the story for the world to see. The way you handled this shows something, that you shouldn't be supported like you are currently. I would mention one of the evil-rooted things you've participated in, such as treating your kids like worthless babysitters and garbage, putting them through years of trauma and abuse, walking all over them then up and leaving when they try to fight back. Leaving one behind while barely keeping connection with the other 2. (The perfect superhero dad.) But i'm not that petty. You need to work on yourself and grow up, a 13 year old should not be more mature than you. I am my own person who chose to write and post this by myself, unaffected by my "master manipulator" mother. -Roxy

I wouldn't recommend this place to my friends at least. Long…read morestory short: I have dreadlocks and my fiance purchased a gift certificate for 225$ for my birthday. I asked the manager to provide me with examples of work (pictures of natural dreadlocks made by their hair stylist) which would help me decide if I can trust this place to maintain my locks. I didn't see any point of stopping by "for a discussion" without any idea what kind of work the dreadlock master does. Why would I waste my free time for a useless talk? Would you also go to the hairdresser who does not have any work to show and blindly believe that they can do their job properly?! Before I pick service I always have to look at their works, pics, styles. You never let anyone touch your nails or hair without portfolio. Also, I DO NOT NEED any store credit or store products, I needed only references and a proper conversation with a specialist. But as far as I understand, The "stylist" does not have proper works to show. Not only I didn't get pictures but after a long discussion, my polite request to exchange the gift certificate back for money was declined as per "their policy". I would not go blindly to the salon and mess with the dreadlocks I cherish, therefore I am just stuck with a useless piece of paper, that I cannot exchange back. Folks, don't buy any certificates at this place and tell your partners not to give you such an expensive and not exchangeable "surprise". Better treat yourself with some nice weekend trip.
