On Wednesday, December 2, 2015 I had ordered an African Violet plant from Fancy Bloomers. I kept worrying about the shipping of an African Violet at this time of year so on Thursday, December 3, 2015 I decided to cancel the order. I sent an email stating "If for some reason you are not able to send this to me (such as weather/temperature), please issue me a full refund. Thank you." On Friday, December 4, 2015, since I had payed through PayPal I thought that maybe I should contact Fancy Bloomers through PayPal by opening a "case" in their "Resolution Center". In that I stated to Fancy Bloomers "Good morning - I would like to CANCEL this sale and receive a full refund. I am SO afraid of the well-being of the plant because of the cold and the time of year - I would like to cancel and if you still have one in the spring then I will order then. Thank you.". On that same day (Friday, December 4, 2015) I received, not only a full refund, but also a nasty email from Fancy Bloomers stating "I am sorry that I did not get back to yesterday, but I live a very busy life. I was homeschooling my daughter in the morning, had a doctor's appointment over lunch, rushed to church to for Bible publishing (Bearing Precious Seed Ministry), then home to cook dinner at 5:00. I ship on Mondays and Tuesdays during the winter because I don't want to take the chance that an order will spend the weekend in a Post Office. Your order, after checking the temperatures in your area, was scheduled to go out next week, because it came in on Wednesday. I don't understand why you expected it to be there the next day, and then contacted PayPal over it. No one in all my years of doing business has ever done that. It seems unreasonable to me, and I think that no matter what I do, you won't be happy, so I am refunding your money and canceling your order. I am sorry to have caused you anguish over it. Have a nice day." My answer to their email to me was "I'm sorry but you misunderstood! I didn't expect it to be here the next day! It states right on your web site that shipping days are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays (http://www.fancy-bloomers.com/index.php?main_page=shippinginfo&zenid=2aeeabc8ac19075b034e262006d125f2) so I knew that! PayPal gives you only a couple of options to open a resolution case and that's it so I had to pick which one came closest to the reason - and that is why I explained in the note to you through PayPal. This is what I had stated in that message - "Good morning - I would like to CANCEL this sale and receive a full refund. I am SO afraid of the well-being of the plant because of the cold and the time of year - I would like to cancel and if you still have one in the spring then I will order then. Thank you." Where in that message do I say ANYTHING about it being here the next day?! I wanted to cancel because, as I had stated, I was afraid of the well-being of the plant and I didn't want anything to happen to it all because I didn't want to wait until it would be safer to send it to me - I didn't want to be selfish at the expense of the plant. I just don't understand how you could have taken it the wrong way like you did and to be "spoken" to like that - being called "unreasonable" and "I think that no matter what I do, you won't be happy" when I was worried about the plant and the temperatures that it would encounter on the way here! So insulting. So hurtful. And then in my original email to you I had stated "If for some reason you are not able to send this to me (such as weather/temperature), please issue me a full refund. Thank you." - NO mention of it being here the next day. I'm just so confused about your reaction. I did NOT deserve to be "spoken" to like that in your email to me."
Be REALLY careful about doing business with them. read more
