The salon itself is clean and has a nice atmosphere. A+++ for the pedicures, which last for weeeeeeks. While you don't need to make an appointment, I recommend it. I have been going to Fancy Nails for over 12 years now. I absolutely adore everyone who works there and I always feel special when I walk in there because of the friendly atmosphere. I never have to wait, it's clean and they do a wonderful job on my manicure and pedicures. Prices are clearly posted so there's no surprises. Tracy the owner, also gives back to the community and donates to various school and local fundraisers. If I have ever had an issue or been unhappy, one only has to mention something to one of the technicians and it's immediately addressed. These guys really value their customers. I walked in to find out they had a fully booked schedule and Tracy asked me to come back or wait an hour. I decided to wait. As much as it felt rushed, she did a great job on my shellac french. It lasted 2.5 weeks and you could only see growth and barely chipping in some spots if you looked really close. I could've gone longer but my nails were getting too long. They're nice people. I just wish these guys weren't working on 3 different people at a time, but they stated they were shorthanded. Price is competitive but a few bucks less than in Montgomery. I will probably go back again before I move! read more

I've been here a couple of times. The last time, I got a french shellac by Tracy. It was pretty good- lasted for over 2 weeks until my nails were too long. A bit pricey, but in this area, that's what you pay. Overall, pretty good. read more

I wanted a french manicure with colors/polish of my own, they said ok. Everything was going ok, then the manicurist makes a mistake by getting a dark streak on the light-colored area, but just ignores it. So I ask her to please fix it. At first she tries globbing on more light colored polish, then decides to start the nail over. She then puts TOP coat instead of bottom coat on first, globs on 2 coats of the main color without waiting between coats for them to dry, then gives me a couple minutes with a dinky little tabletop fan and puts on the dark tip color (after sticking her salon's chemical polish-coated brush right into my special non-toxic polish, instead of cleaning the brush first, and when I point this out to her she makes a lame excuse claiming that since it's basically the same color it doesn't matter.) then without giving the nail enough time to dry she globs on the top coat, puts my hands under a fan for a few minutes, splashes on some drying liquid and says I'm all done. Says it'll last a week. I didn't even get out to the car before the re-done nail that was NOT given enough time to dry between layers, is all creased and wrinkled looking. The french manicure tips are uneven thicknesses and one is even slanted a bit! It's over an HOUR later and the nail she wouldn't let layers dry is STILL squooshy! I guess she knew her "skills" were not so great, because she insisted I pay her before putting on the polish! I wish I'd paid by credit card so I could dispute the charges, but I'd paid by cash. Lesson learned - AVOID this place! UPDATE: I tried calling Fancy Nails and spoke to the manager who said I could come in and have the SAME person fix it. I requested another person and he said nope - they're "too busy". smh So now I have to try fixing it myself or paying another salon to do it. read more

Most incompetent nail salon I've ever been to. Made my appt days ago, figured I'd try a new salon since I just moved here. I usually get dip powder...the guy on the phone said they don't do that so I said okay I will get a gel fill. He told me to get to my appt a few mins early so that they can soak the dip powder off. I came straight from work & got there 10 mins early...the lady who works near the front desk starts COMPLAINING that I have dip powder, starts insulting my nails "that doesn't look like powder, thats so thick" (my old salon was AMAZING, always got compliments but now I've moved & it's too far) and starts bitching that i was supposed to be 15 mins early to soak saying "we don't have time for that!" - i was 10 mins early...is she insane?! Who speaks to a new customer like that?!? She agreed to still do my nails and halfway through started painting my bare nail when I said wait what are you doing I'm supposed to have a gel fill...she said "Oh you never said that (I did), I don't have time for that now you should have told me!" I was furious. I told her to just paint them then (i just wanted to leave at this point) and honestly even the paint job sucked. This place is a hot mess and unprofessional/rude. Found this gem of a place by accident. Right near Retro Fitness. I have now been going for almost a year and even if my usual manicurist Cindy is not available and I am placed with aother - its always a topnotch job (gel manicure and acrylic). They were able to fit me in for a last minute pedicure before New Years and I think I've found my new go to nail salon in the area (after several other disappointing results at other salons). definitly Not! I was there for tips. It was terrible. My tips were Not straight, my natural nail werent covered. It looked terrible. I came back for cash, becouse i saw in internet how it should be look correctly. They didnt want to give me cash back, they said that will fix it. I gave them a chance, but they start to be rude to me. The Man said to me : dont come black Herę anymore and the women- ower start to be rud!!! So there Lost there chance to fix it, and i told them to give my cash back. They said: no, so I decided to call the POLICE and then they give me my casch. Terrible people !!! read more

Although this happened a couple of months ago, it still is bothering me and I had to write about it. I had a 9am appt on a Monday morning with Cindy. Waited outside until 9:15am when one of the nail technicians came and waited outside with me (only Cindy had a key). At 9:20am, Cindy called the other technician on her cell to tell her that she was running late and wouldn't be there for another 20 - 25 minutes and asked her to relay that to me. The technician asked if I would stay until she got there and I told her that I already waited 20 minutes and that I would come back but that I wasn't happy. I was told it "wasn't her fault that she lived so far away" but that she understood why I was upset and assured me that I wouldn't have to wait when I came back. I returned at 9:47am. Cindy told me that too bad I didn't come a few minutes sooner because now her 10am appt would have to wait too long and, as a result, I would have to reschedule. I told her my conversation with the nail technician and that I came back when she told me to, and Cindy insisted that I told the nail technician that I would call back and reschedule. Needless to say, I never went back. Wonder if the owner knows who she has running her business in the mornings. I think I'd want to know. Especially since I've been telling all of my Hillsborough friends what happened. read more

Born and raised in Boro, I've used many of the different nail salons and Fancy Nail is absolutely THE BEST. They are fairly priced - not expensive, but affordable and fair which is fine by me since they give amazing service. I usually request Desiree but Tracy has also done my nails. Everyone there is very pleasant and they all give great pedicures and manicures. The salon itself in clean and inviting. You have to almost always make an appointment because they are so busy but that's fine by me. They stick to their appointments so make sure you're on time!! I've watched people show up 15 and 20 minutes late to their appointments and get upset if they were asked to reschedule (or cute down on the number of things they needed done) which I feel is fair because as the next client coming in, I don't want to be put off because someone else was late. My mom has been using this salon for years and everyone I recommend loves it just as much. SO basically - if you want a quality job done by great people - Fancy Nails is the best. read more
