She took the time to speak with us over the phone to answer all our questions thoroughly, and on the day of the shoot, she kept us updated on the location details along with once the photos were edited. I initially chose Fangting after seeing her work online and her more reasonably priced sessions compared to others. After the ease of setting up day, time, and place, deposit and contract were sent. Everything was done electronically, making it convenient. The day of the session went well despite a little wind making hair placement difficult. Other than that, she arrived on time and accommodated our change of location requests. My only complaint is that she didn't take as many candid or playful shots of the kids or family as I expected. I also felt like we didn't get as much direction as to how to pose. She did advise us in what order to stand. I would have maybe liked a few seated poses as well. Overall, she was friendly and professional. She even took some photos with my old polaroid camera per my request. The finished work arrived quickly via a link through email with direction on how to download and select favorites. The images are beautiful and the turn out with final editing was fast, approximately 2 to 3 days. I am pleased with how everything went and how it turned out. Our family had a fantastic experience with Fangting! We found her on Yelp and reached out for a last-minute family photo shoot. She responded promptly with clear information about her packages and pricing and was able to accommodate our request for that same weekend. EXTREMELY HAPPY with my family photo shoot. I went with Fangting for our family vacation photo shoot and so relieved I did. There are many options of photographers to go with but I am so glad I made the right choice. My family and I traveled to Oahu in June for a week. Fangting is professional, efficient and really makes it work! I contacted her over the weekend for a family photo shoot request for the upcoming week and she was on it! Even though it was super last minute scheduling she worked it into her day. I wasn't sure it would happen and nearly gave up trying to reach out to photographers knowing it was a tough ask. Out of the three photographers I contacted she was the most responsive, one never responded, and I found her to be the most transparent with expectations, straightforward and not pushing only the selling points. She was also the only photographer to offer packages which included all digital images from the shoot to look over. Communication was easy, her contract was sent quickly and timely without fuss and any questions easily answered with a quick call or email even with the time difference. My kids enjoyed working with her and the location options she offered were all amazing, truly thought out and it was a tough call since every location was beautiful. Within the next week we were able to look over our photos and she has an extremely user friendly webpage designed to review and communicate about edits, organized by individual photos. Super easy to tag photos for review or to make notes- this process was seamless and so helpful. The first session was for a surprise engagement in Los Angeles with a gorgeous nighttime backdrop of city. Fangting is incredibly talented. We had her do maternity photos at first - chose her because of her stellar photo gallery online, responsiveness, availability, and offering of dress rentals. During the photo shoot she arrived early and was very professional, friendly, and fun. She was extremely considerate for my safety since our location required walking over uneven terrain - both she and my husband helped with stabilizing me. While wearing the dress rental she added that she wanted me to make sure I prioritized taking care of myself to avoid injury rather than trying to take care of the dress rental. While this is common sense, it was much appreciated by me in the moment as I tried to keep it from getting torn. We received the unedited gallery VERY shortly after, and WOW - the photos made me look like a MODEL. I was EXTREMELY happy with them, and they weren't even edited yet. We made our selections for editing, and she made them even more magical. She got these edited photos back to us very quickly as well. We asked her to do newborn and family photos as well once our baby was born. Again, she went above and beyond what we expected for the photoshoot. She improvised with the items we wanted included in photos and directed family members kindly and firmly to make the photos turn out perfect! She was extremely easy to talk with and truly wonderful to work with. Before she left, I told her she needed to charge more, and I meant it. The unedited and edited photos were also received very quickly following the photoshoot. We are so grateful to her and glad to have her in Hawaii! Fangting is an AMAZING photographer!!!! We were so lucky to find out they were our neighbors; so getting to the studio was a breeze, especially after giving birth!! Our son was only 10 days old and we were a bit nervous to see how he would do; esp. being first-time parents. Fangting was extremely patient and friendly. We had a 1 hour family shoot with her at the beach with our 2 year old twins (not an easy task). our kids did not behave especially well so we had doubts on how the product would turn out. To our pleasant surprise, she was able to get some great shots. Within 1 hour, we had an outfit change so really looked like 2 separate shoots. she provided us with advice on outfits as well. Her pricing is similar to other quotes we received from other local photographers in SD, however with a much more generous package: allows digital download of all of her photos (was 100+ for us!) and she professionally retouches 12 photos (high resolution for printing). These edited photos are especially spectacular as you can see from other reviewers. The only negative for us is that she did not have an assistant. For a family with young kids at the beach, this made the shoot itself pretty hectic. However, it was of no consequence to the final result. would use her again. read more
