The bathroom was not the cleanest. Bathtub and sink were dirty as was the floor. Not very good soundproofing. The people in the room above us were very active way past 10 pm. This morning, we went down to breakfast and there were no biscuits for the gravy. No cinnamon rolls, the pancake machine was out of order as were 2 juice options. As we left, we heard an employee shouting, using absolutely foul language, which was totally unacceptable. We'll find a different hotel next time.

So we got the super 8 which is a little out dated and the chairs in the room have stains on them which need to be steam cleaned. The staff here is super super nice. They have a mini fridge and microwave in your room and you have cable tv. What makes me give three stars is when housekeeping clean our room the bed sheets and comforter where the same they didn't changed them out and I knew this because our comforter had a cigarette burn. The good thing I had bought cheap bedding sheets and covers and pillows and I would put them on top of the bed. Then when I would leave I would unfold the bedding like we used it. I would love to give five stars but this incident I was not to happy about. It's a good place to stay but recommend buying cheap sheets to use. This super 8 is 2 minutes away from the rock group. Danvilles hotels unfortunately have a reputation of having roaches or bed bugs-thats a no from me. I'd rather drive. I chose this hotel based on reviews. As someone familiar with military dorms , this place brought back some nostalgia. Pros- breakfast offered fresh fruit,cereal (with oatmilk optional!), bagels, eggs, potato,bacon and fresh coffee and juice. The bread tasted fresh not stale. And the coffee was rich (they use Starbucks ground coffee). The place is aged and the surrounding buildings are still abandoned after the Air Force base closed, but the hotel itself is clean and bug free , though there were giant mosquitoes outside. The room itself has a dorm feel even with a walk in closet and kitchenette (no hot plate or stove). There are definitely areas that the room could use replacement,like the shower floor or aged tiles on the bathroom floor. But there was no mold present in the bathroom including the shower curtain and the pressure of the water was fantastic. I checked the room for bugs and stains or hair that wasn't mine. I was pleased not finding any. I even checked the coffee pot where bugs usually hang out or the microwave, non present either. The only place was the shower stopper that had hair in it that wasn't mine that looked like it wasn't mine and was missed by housekeeping. I'll give them a pass for that. Also they don't come by and clean the rooms between days you stay there but they're nice enough to help you out with towels or what not if you need it. Also I drove around the neighborhood trying to see the sketchy vibe someone mentioned. As someone that grew up in the hood in LA, I didn't get that same hood vibe. It's definitely poverty stricken but people keep to themselves anyway. I'm visiting Danville again in December and already rebooked my stay.

They were overwhelmed with travelers on their way to the Path of Totality for the 2024 solar eclipse, it was a long wait to check in and a long walk from the far end of the packed parking lot. My desk chair was missing a wheel. The only food around is Domino's delivery, which is America's saddest meal. I've stayed in worse.

They have a very nice bathroom with a tub just made for soaking in. The bathtub does have two VERY STURDY METAL GRAB BARS with a shower chair that is, big enough for a grizzly bear. The bathroom also has tons of cabinet space with drawers to keep things!!!! We are staying in the handicapped room, they are on the ends right next to a large handicapped parking space and an easy accessible ramp that pretty much leads right into the room. The beds are quite comfortable and the room is too. The heating, cooling system is quiet. And puts out the heat. It is January. The controls for the heater, air conditioner are very easy to read with big buttons to push. The tv is very good too with the cable channels you pretty much expect. The people that work at the Magnuson First Heritage Inn are AMAZING!!!! Extremely nice and they didn't make me feel stupid when I had to have them come to my room to help me program the microwave. Okay it was blinking and the buttons wouldn't work. The gentleman hit a button and Voila!! it worked. I asked what he did. He told me, it was the clear button,which was clearly labeled. Traveling with little ones here is nice because they can offer a microwave in your room if requested. Made a big difference for us traveling with a young one. The gym is small but they do have a peloton bike among other equipment like free weights and other cardio equipment. Complimentary breakfast has warm savory options like egg burritos both with and without meat. They also offer oatmeal, fruit, yogurt and bagels with plenty of refreshments. I was there during a snow storm & they did a good job of plowing the lot. Hot coffee available throughout the day which is nice since i work overnights. My big issue is that the room temp has a cap at 75 degrees and it shuts off frequently even when the auto is not on. We haven't even hit negative temps in the area yet so I'm curious how the heating is through the winter. There was also hair on 1 of the towns when I entered the room.
