U P D A T E Yeah I've learned a lesson. When it comes to nail reviews, wait two weeks. This is the WORST gel nails I have ever received in my life. Within 3 days my nails were breaking and the gel was separating (streaks). Within a week, I had to cut all of my nails off, which made me so sad. Chileeee within 2 weeks I am in horror. I kept them until this point to give this review! A mess. The gel is peeling (started within a few days) and it looks like a dog chewed up and spit out my fingers lol. A COMPLETE MESS. My nails feel so thin and breakable. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I was trying to support a place that wasn't super fancy. My mistake. I did not have a good experience today. I've come here a few times and everything is usually good but today was not. The white SNS color was messed up because a brush with red bristles was used to dust which resulted in my nails having pink specks in them. She did try to fix it but it did not work. My girlfriend came to get her feet done and wanted French tip . There were uneven and didn't look right ugly even . Honestly looked like she didn't try her best to make sure the nails looked great . Then my gf asks nicely for just white nails because she didn't like them . She apologizes for changing her mind because she's a nice person like that . Mind you the manager did not let us know we'd still be paying for the French tip . She then tells us when we go to pay that we have to pay for the French tip that she didn't like ... even though her toes are now white . She did not care not compensate. She also did not inform us at all very unprofessional. I am a manager also and I do everything in my effort to make sure my customers are satisfied. Terrible service . Will not be coming back . Just make sure if y'all change yall mind y'all ask if yall would be charged for original cause clearly they don't clarify. If I could give a zero I would . (June 2019) They were not busy when I came in on a Saturday. I received a pedicure service. I commend the establishment for bags in the basins for sterilization. The pedicure began fine. The technician cut me twice...one cut actually bled the other burned so much I couldn't put my foot back in the water. I hate saying anything at these establishments and am not one to complain. She proceeded to then spray alcohol which made both of my toes burn worse. I never received an apology at all and instead was given excuses. I would not recommend. read more

i was in need of a pedi and i did not want to spend like a million dollars. found this place and it was only $25 which i was willing to pay that, not the $35 that other places charge for the same thing you get for $25. made an appointment on line and it was great, got there, and yes, it was a little place and yes you would miss it, but let me tell you, they were clean and the lady who took care of me, i did not have to tell her what i wanted, she just did it and i was like, did she read my mind? I hate the fact I even have to write this review considering i have been a loyal client for quite some time now. But where do I start?...This particular visit I came in to get my nails done with my mom. This time I have a guy (David) who I've had before and needless to say I didn't have a pleasant experience then either, so i advised Helen i would rather wait for her (we all have someone we prefer, right?). She explains to have him start the process of removing my old set and she will finish the rest, I agreed. One thing led to the next and he ends up doing my entire new set (after 30 min passed I decided to give him another chance than to make a big commotion). The first day my nails looked great to be honest and my my mom loved her nails as well. However, we noticed our nails had a weird smell to them but figured it would go away after a few washes. The next day, more specifically, THE NEXT MORNING my thumb nail pops! The back of the nail lifted and I knew I wouldn't be able to go back that day because my schedule wouldn't allow it (I moved but still traveled to this shop because I liked how Helen and Tran did my nails). So I settled for a quick fix and put on some nail glue and went on about my day. By the time the day ended another nail popped and by the end of the week i had 7 nails that had lifted. I had finally decided to take the nails off because they begin to hurt and the smell started to come back. Upon taking my thumb nail off my nail bed was green! Immediately I called Helen. She was super nice about it (during the phone call -_-) and told me I could come back Wednesday and she would take care of it for me. So today I come in and advised her I was here to get my nails fixed from the past experience she then states she would charge me half for the service which was never mentioned on the phone. As a loyal client who spent 60 dollars not including the tip for the last service and to charge me now for a major inconvenience that wasn't my fault is ridiculous! However, i figured I'm already here let me just pay the half and be done with it. At the end of the service she advised me it would be 30 dollars but an additional 5 for the design (which I received last time and charged me additional instead of providing it as a convenience as good business would) and 3 dollars for something else (I stopped listening at this point just appalled that she's even adding anything additional after such bad service last time). I understand you may not want to do a free service however i didn't want to pay full price for shitty service i received initially BUT I STILL DID! I paid for the service this time as well while letting it be known this was my last time coming to this Not So Fantastic Shop. And she seemed to have no problem with it. That makes the two of us ! I have been here 3 times. First time Helen did my SNS with tips and did a great job. The second time a teenager did my nails because Helen was busy. My nails didn't last a full two weeks like they are suppose to but I thought it was a fluke. The third time a male did my SNS and by day 10 I had lost five nails. No chipping or cracking they just came off! I have been getting my nails done since I was 15 I know how long they should last. When I brought this to Helen's attention she basically said that it was normal for my nails not to last a full 14 days and that she would give me a 5 dollar discount for a new full set. That was unacceptable and not true. I have no problem paying for great service and tipping accordingly. If you don't mind waiting an hour or more waiting for Helen then be my guest. This place does not look like much from the outside...or the inside for that matter! It's located in a rinky dink little shopping center off of Holcomb Bridge. The inside is clean, just looks a little old. The staff is super friendly. I got the mani/pedi combo, which was $34. I was happy to see they use the plastic liners in the foot soaker; much more sanitary! An exfoliating sugar scrub is included with pedis, and it felt great. My nail technician did a fabulous massage on my feet and legs as well. I asked her not to trim my cuticles as I've been bled too many times, and she happily obliged. No arguing as with other places! My manicure was great as well, and also included a hand and arm massage. Both my toenails and fingernails look fab; I've found my new local fave! read more

I went in last week for SNS mind you I live by the airport and the girl who did my nails used the wrong topcoat and my nails were peeling. I called the shop and drove over 30 minutes back to the shop and the owner to fix it and she put another top coat that was not sns on my nails and told me that she could not correct it until I come back in for a fill in because it already dried. I was soooooo furious. She said that she will do my nails next time. There will be no next time! The sad part is my coworker recommended me and she felt so bad. read more

I went in on Saturday wanting to get a full-set with gel color. I was attended by a guy in the fourth or fifth chair. The nails looked great the first day (the day I got them done). After this the nails began to look as if I needed a fill-in or new set. Not even a week after I got these nails done and two have already fallen off. I have gone here before and have had similar experiences. Nothing bad on Helen, she does a good job, her designs are amazing. A friend of mine also went in earlier this week to get Halloween inspired nails and he did not do a good job. I will not be going back, not worth my money. read more

Worst place ever and I couldn't even get a service! Walked in at 5:30pm on a Friday, they weren't super busy just seriously understaffed. Upon walking in they were A LOT of people waiting and they were being talked to so I thought it wouldn't be too bad. Nope, we were asked one question and that's it nobody ever said anything else to us if we needed anything or a time estimate nothing. Ended up walking out around 6:45pm. While walking out somebody finally said something about the man being almost finished and we just left. Went down the street to *URBAN NAIL SALON* and got a warm welcome automatically and got seated right away, also a complimentary glass of wine. Can't beat that. However your attitude was FOUL about the situation. My friend was told to come back twice! She wasnt seen 5 min after the time you told her to come back love she was seen at 3:42! 42 min after. Of course she would get another manicure...i mean the first one kinda sucked! Also she paid and tipped because shes SUPER NICE not because she liked the work. Moving forward its all good. Quiet, relaxing, clean salon. My normal salon was really busy and as I was driving along saw this place from the road and decided to give it a try. The technician was really nice, spoke good English, and did an excellent job. Unlike a lot of places, she used gloves when doing my nails which I really appreciate. We were the only ones in the salon but I still felt like she took a lot of time to do a good job. She was also just a really nice person - asked a lot of questions and kept up a great conversation for a while. The spa chairs aren't the newest that I've seen but still get the job done. The TV wasn't working so she put on some relaxing classical music. Overall, a pleasant experience! read more

i chose a 4 out of 5 for this place. the workers were very very nice and comforting even offered me some water. lol! but my nails did not come out as how i wanted them the shaping was off and i was cut with the drill they used. i asked for a design and i did not like it at all i came home and covered it up right away. over all customer service was really good! would recommend! read more

Horrible service, not worth going. The pedicure was bad, no scrub, she didn't remove the callus, and no massage. She also did not know how to do the gradient design with glitter. She did not know how to do acrylic nails. So when I got there I had to wait for one other person to finish to get acrylic tips. I have never seen a salon that only had two people on staff. The place did not practice cleanliness like they describe. She washed the pumice stone and utensils right in the same water as my clean feet. Just not a good experience. read more
