The service I receive is excellent, as I said. However, according to the state board, the dog in the salon is against their regulations. The State Board asked me details of the days and times I have seen the adorable dog in the salon. They also confirmed the address of the salon with me. I went here this evening to get my acrylic nails removed. I didn't catch the name of the man who serviced me, but he wore a cast on his leg and smoked cigarettes. That is the only description I have of him. He made my experience here a terrible one with his rudeness and unprofessionalism. He started with the electric nail drill, which was understandably a little uncomfortable for those of us with super sensitive nails. I jumped some when the pressure was too much and it burned. I calmly explained to him that it hurt, to which he scolded me and said it was because I was moving too much, when in fact I had kept still and had only flinched after it had hurt. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It wasn't necessarily him saying that I was moving too much, but the way he said it that put a bad taste in my mouth. He was insensitive and very rude in his tone of voice, but I chose to ignore this and keep a positive attitude towards him for the remainder of my time here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He then soaked my fingers in the acetone solution and then went outside to take a smoke break and eat a piece of chocolate while I sat. I hadn't yet mentioned to him that I am severely allergic to chocolate and that the allergy has put me in the ER multiple times. So, I communicated this to him when he returned to relieve me from the acetone and kindly asked if he would please wash his hands before continuing with my nails. He responded by saying that he would put gloves on and I told him I'd just feel more comfortable if he'd wash his hands as well. I am also pregnant and didn't want to risk anything happening. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He spoke to his coworkers, saying something in Vietnamese that I couldn't understand, but enough to gather that he was fed up with me. He completely walked away from servicing me and one of his other coworkers said she would continue with my nails.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I felt confused and very upset! I wondered what I ever did to this guy to deserve this poor treatment when I had been nothing but patient and polite.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got up from my seat, announced that I was leaving and voiced that this was very unprofessional and that I would be writing a bad review. Instead, I went across the street to Lush Nails in the Kroger parking lot. They did an amazing job and I highly recommend going here instead of wasting your time at City Nails Bar. read more

I absolutely love this place! I found it on yelp randomly when I was in the area about 6 months ago and have not gone anywhere since I found them. Now I come every month, and yes, my mani-pedis actually last that long since I've become a customer! My nails are the longest they've ever been due to my manicurist recommending SNS instead of gel polish. The ladies are super friendly and from what I've heard other customers say while I'm there EVERY manicurist is amazing there (I've been faithful to my lady since my first visit)! Like I said before I absolutely love this place! Even if I wasn't so close to their location I would probably still make time to come here! This place is under new management and ownership. I've been coming here since it originally opened up. However, I have to say under the new ownership, this place has gotten wayyyyy better. The workers and owner, Katie, are VERY tentative. I really like they go an extra mile to make sure you're doing alright under their services. They also do a great job with SNS. They last at least for about 3 weeks, which is great in my opinion. All I can say is, "Wow"! Wow, I cannot believe how incredibly rude the people who work here are!!! They are so insanely rude that I did not even get the manicure that I came in for. I came in to get my SNS removed and get a manicure. When I first walked in all of the workers simply stared at me. After I said hello, I asked if they would be able to remove my SNS and give me a manicure. The women that I spoke with simply stared at me so I asked again. She then yelled across the salon to a woman on her phone. The woman shook her head and then returned to speaking on the phone. The woman that I spoke with rudely told me 25 minutes. I told her that I could come back, and she said, "Yeah, do that. Thank you." After reading reviews perhaps it was a blessing in disguise. The first time I went, I got SNS and it was fantastic. I didn't know they could last nearly three months, but they did. The only reason why they came off was because rugby sees son started and I can't play with long nails. The second time I went there, I requested something (still and SNS) different and got what I requested. They're beautiful, but there are a good couple of technical issues I have. Unlike the first time, they did not push back my cudicals, and as a result, it'd barely been a week and the bottom of my nails are showing through heavily. There's a couple of nails that are uneven and length and there's parts of the nails that are patchy and you can see through. They didn't even cover the whole nail which was very frustrating. Parts of the nails are also lumpy. I do have to say though, the first time I went, I got a pedicure, and it was great. The massage was probably the best I've ever gotten. Bedsides that, for nearly $70, i expected better technical work. I may try some other places before I go back because of the price and the inconsistent results. City Nails Bar is the only place I go to have any nail treatment done! Literally - I won't let anyone else do my nails. They are the first class in excellence and service. My last SNS manicure and gel pedicure lasted over a month! (I don't normally go that long but I had been short on time.) The atmosphere is refreshing and positive and the whole team is amazing - Bob gives the most amazing pedicures. He's professional, thorough and attentive. The foot and leg massage is his specialty. I've almost fallen asleep before from being so relaxed! Katie, the owner and Lee, the manager, put clients first and always make sure I leave happy. Really wanted to like this place; the staff was friendly, I read great reviews, and it's super close by. I got a set of acrylics for a decent price but when she was finished I felt like the money had just been wasted. My cuticles were not pushed back AT ALL and my nail beds looked like a wreck. My nails weren't even covered all the way with polish so they already looked grown out! 2 days later and my pinky is already lifting. Would not recommend for anyone who wants a set of acrylics. Attached is a pic of my nails only 3 DAYS after I got them done! They look grown out just because of how little she covered. They attempted to charge me extra just for bringing my own polish. The nail tech was offended when I asked her a question about why she was testing a polish on my nails. It was unnecessary attitude and the up charge for bringing my own polish was a perfect sign to leave. It's sad because the guy working the front desk was curteous but it's a deal breaker for me when the person performing the service is grumpy. It's just ok. If you're in a pinch. Maybe it was the girl who did my nails. I only tried this place cause I moved 30 minutes away from the nail salon I've been going to for years. Trying to find a place closer to home again. The girl filed the SNS so much that you could see my nail close to the cuticle. Which means it's gonna grow out a lot quicker. I asked for almond shape and she filed some of them crooked. Now it's been 13 days and one nail is already lifting. Usually I can go 3-4 weeks without having to go back again. I debated on writing a review, but I'm caving because I got one of the worst manicures I have ever gotten here. I now have 4 broken or split nails and I got a gel manicure about a week ago from City Nails bar. I went here as a suggestion from a friend, walking in the salon is really nice and clean, however some of the workers were wearing sweatpants and looked very disheveled. I get it you want to be comfortable. But don't look like you rolled out of bed. My gel manicure and pedicure were going great until the manicurist asked me about the length of my nails. I said a little shorter so just file. She filed my nails so short it looked like I bite my nails. Then as she was doing the gel she asked if I would like another coat I liked the color so I said no. I honestly wanted to get out of there. As she was finishing, she sassed me about not getting an extra coat saying my nails are thin and I should have done another coat. It took everything in me not to be rude right back. Here is my main opinions: don't go here there are way better places in Dunwoody with nicer people, it is WAY over priced, and don't be rude to your customers. It was my first time at this place and I was really excited. I felt kinda uncomfortable when I walked in and felt like this the whole time. As a result, my nails grew too long and two of them broke. VJ managed to remove the SNS of my broken nails with minimum pain and rebuild my broken nail. Now I am pain free and learned my lesson. I don't normally write reviews but I'm so mad right now I just have to! I've been a regular customer- until today! When checking out, I presented my 'frequent visit ' card as I was due a $10 discount. The manager tells me 'next time'. When I question her she says one of the days has a signature that wasn't signed by them! I was stunned!! I asked her if she was accusing me of adding a signature and she replied no, not you, but someone!!!! I couldn't believe it!! I told her she should be ashamed and that she owed me an apology! She reluctantly 'gave' me the $10 discount and then walked away!!! I will not be back!!! So insulting! Until now, Anne did a good job . But a month ago, I had a terrible experience. Perhaps she wanted to go home as soon as possible. It was a terribly sloppy job, I noticed her the job is too roughand she knew herself , but I did not fix anything. As a result, my nails are thin and partly missing. I got a fungal infection and plantar warts from my pedicure here. It is going to cost me over $500 to cure. Both my toenails and fingernails were weakened and split in half after my manicure and pedicure.
