Disappointing Experience - Lack of Communication and Unjust Charges My experience with Farah & Farah was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. It took them two full years to handle my claim, and throughout that time, communication was subpar at best. I frequently had to call to request updates--on one of those calls, I was shocked to learn that my attorney and legal team had changed without anyone notifying me. What's worse, they charged me 40% of my settlement without any prior notice or discussion. At the start, I was told the standard contingency fee would be 33%, which I accepted without issue. But when the fee suddenly increased due to a deposition requested by the other party, I was never told this would lead to an increase in the percentage they would take. I directly asked what this meant for my case and was given no indication of an upcharge. There was no transparency, no advocacy, and no one to speak to about my concerns when I tried to dispute the charge. Reading through other reviews, I see that this pattern is not unique to me--this firm seems to routinely take advantage of clients in vulnerable situations. Farah & Farah did not fight hard for the best outcome, and in the end, I felt more like a case file than a client. I had the absolute worst experience with Farah and Farah, but if you choose them I personally advise you to avoid attorney JUSTIN STEVENS, he is the absolute worst attorney, he asked me what my demands were, and once I told him he told me he wouldn't be asking for my demands because he knows it's a waste of time. He doesn't work for you, he basically agreed with everything the apposing party suggested and they made me several offers, I told him I would rather trial and he flat out told me I would lose even though the apposing party admitted to their negligence in my settlement case. I fell and broke both of my arms. I called an attorney at Farah and Farah who was informative on the call and asked me to follow up by going back to the location where I fell and to send him related pictures and/or any additional information describing the incident. I sent him 2 emails with pictures and told him I had additional information about the incident which I would like to discuss with him. I waited a few days and there was no response. So I called and left a message to please give me a call. Again no response. So I sent him a text stating the information he requested and my responses without receiving a reply. I asked him to please contact me within 3 days to let me know if he was taking my case. I even said he could simply send me a text with either a yes or no reply. Again no response. I find Farah and Farah to be unprofessional and unresponsive. I would not recommend them to anyone. Reached out to them regarding an injury. They immediately sent me a retainer contract with 25% fees. State fees are 20% under 5k, 15% 5-10k, and 10% 10k and over unless you waive these and agree to their fees. I told them I wanted some time to investigate other firms for more reasonable fees and weigh my options. I immediately received a letter saying they were declining to take my case that looks like it was someone else's dismissal letter. The date was incorrect as well as the reason for contacting. Their refusal letter was dated regarding an April 26 contact for Social Security when I contacted them May 1 about an injury. Good to know Farah & Farah don't give a hoot about me (and probably the rest of their clients) considering they got the date and subject of the lawsuit wrong, and declined me since I didn't immediately sign a contract. #1 They took a million plus "Slip& Fall" lawsuit and settled for $1600! This after over a years time of their client (a friend of mine) suffering. The client did not want to settle as this injury was & still is causing great pain & further complications. If you think of using them for your suit , proceed with CAUTION!! #2 After over one year of us asking for the drs to release the client, as there was nothing further to be done. Continuing to go to their dr was only eating into the 10k settlement. Of witch the client , Dr, and attorney, usually end up with 1/3 (3k) each. That was NOT the case in this case. Our lawyer & his assistant were not easy to get a hold of . Communication was lacking, to say least. In the end, they gave us an apology & a check for $1,700. Our lawyer explained that "Its not the norm for our client to receive less than us or medical.We even moved money around so that your check would be at least $1,700" oh, Geez!
