Berley contacted me right away, understood the kind of art I have (eclectic and some very heavy) and the mixed concrete and sheet rock building I live in. I was concerned that they couldn't handle the 30+ art pieces I had in the time allotted but Michael and Berley were such pros that they got the heavy pieces up together and then Michael just did a great job, hanging the art, discussing location and sometimes helping to rearrange an awkward piece. In my 50+ years of remodeling and moving I've run into many contractors workers who thought they knew it all and were not respectful. As a woman who knows what she wants doing a project with contractors you had to fight your way through sours you on the product. Michael and Berley are thorough professionals and they don't come with an attitude even though they are truly experts at their craft and really know high art. I requested Michael to install a variety of art pieces - 12 movie props and 7 oil paintings - in various spaces around my home - living room, long hallway, dining room, and kitchen. This is our second time using Berley Art Services! Berley is amazing! He remade three HUGE pieces of folk art--each one is 32" x 72". These pieces were handmade by Chris Roberts Antieau 40 years ago. They were a flimsy and needed to be reinforced. Berley added low glare acrylic to the fronts and plywood to the backs. He did a fabulous job!! Berley absolutely knows this craft. I had a bunch of nice artwork, but there were challenges with the frames and some of the walls. He got to work and had seven pieces hung in about an hour. Then he went to work on a photo collage wall with a laser and a level. He placed thirty 8x10 frames in almost no time and to the exact design I had in mind. I had ambitions of hanging 9 (irregularly-shaped) frames above a spiral staircase, but I hadn't measured correctly, and the drop-off made it pretty much impossible to get a ladder to the right place. Berley to the rescue! He proposed a new layout that fit (and complements) the space and figured out how to safely hang them. Truly great service - even when managing a problem. I had them come hang a very tricky piece: 6' x 6' linocut framed with a very shallow frame and no back structure, weighing more than 50 lb because of the giant piece of plexiglass. The piece looked good on the wall, but was so heavy that it bent itself away from the cleat. The plexi had popped out of the frame. Berley came back to make it right, free of charge. He repaired the frame and installed two new cleats, and now it looks great. COVID precautions were excellent (and I am a physician), and he is totally trustworthy. I left the windows and doors open, met him outside, and left the house while he worked (fully masked with a good snug mask). I have a security camera and checked in: mask worn the whole time. read more
