Beware-sale prices do not always ring up correctly at the register until someone calls it to their attention.

This is a wonderful recently opened grocery store and restaurant. It's tucked away between the…read moreT-Mobile storefront and the Hertz office on the corner of Riverside Drive and Hiway 1 West (next door to the KFC). The grocery store is very nicely organized, clean, and well-stocked with a variety of Mexican and Latin American items. The restaurant is attached and it too is clean and newly furnished with booths. The bar offers seating as well. The staff here are super friendly! And the food is fantastic! Their street tacos ($3) are delicious and my new favorite item is the "sencillas" ($5) - a large fresh flour tortilla stuffed with refried beans and queso. Served warm and melty - the accompanying salsa is a little spicy. But I had no trouble squirting in on and devouring it! They also have freshly made tamales on occasion - the "salsa verde y pollo" (green salsa with chicken) is DELICIOUS!! Check out their menu and give this place a try!!

You'll be glad you did…read more seems La Unica is a hidden gem. we can for dinner at 7pm. my party of three were the only patrons aside from 2 gentlemen enjoying beers at the bar. person 1 in my party ordered 1 al pastor, 1 chorizo, and 1 chicken taco. Person 2 ordered a chicken taco. I ordered a chorizo taco and a chicken taco. Our food arrived promptly and as ordered. we all had corn tortillas. They are street sized and made by hand when ordered; not the 14" monster tortillas from a package. They're slightly thicker than packaged corn tortillas. They did not rip nor were they dried out and grainy like many packaged corn tortillas. All meats were flavorful. Chicken and pork were cooked to perfection - tender and juicy; not hard and dried out. The chorizo was cooked just right. It had a little kick but wasn't so spicy it was not eatable like some I've had. The onion, tomato, cilantro and other toppings were all so fresh. Presentation was great and enticing. I'd had beer earlier in the day and was driving so I stuck with water as did the others. Chatted with the cook for a bit. great gal. Everything is handmade. Wish she was my abuelita. Conversation on the way home centered on returning tomorrow for more of this great food and how tasty and filling the tacos were.

Surprisingly, the inventory on 12/23 was very good. I picked up exactly what I needed. Plenty of friendly staff working, but there just isn't enough room to move around. We were 3-carts wide in the aisles. My fault for having to shop on 12/23, but still. We got in and out quickly. I enjoy the 'specialty' items that Aldi carries for short periods of time. For example, the Green Bean Casserole pizza I picked up. Or unique sauces and jellies. Many unique cheeses. They have so much more than that. They also have their infamous 'aisle of shame.' This is the aisle you go down if you want to blow your grocery budget, or if you have no budget at all. We're talking about the non-food items. Those throw pillows, boots, candles, underwear you didn't know you need. Don't leave Aldi without strolling down this one. I should also mention their extensive wine and beer selection. Not sure it's Trader Joe's level, but good nonetheless. Check them out next time you're in the area. I'm a frequent shopper, so maybe I'll bump into you. Don't forget that quarter for the shopping cart rental. You WILL need a cart.

This is an amazing grocery and co-op and I can't say enough good things about it. First of all,…read moremost of their produce and meats are locally sourced from farmers and growers who follow sustainable best practices...and second of all, their food looks and tastes beyond amazing! The deli and bakery are the best I've encountered, with sophisticated and delicious baked goods (especially cakes!), salads, sandwiches, and prepared foods...all made from scratch and using mostly organic and local ingredients. They also provide catering and will do a beautiful and professional job, going above and beyond with the quality of their food selections and presentation. The store is a fun and cozy place to shop, and they usually have samples...the deli is the highlight of the store with so many yummy treats you won't be able to walk away without at least a few goodies. You can purchase a cup of fresh coffee and there is a soup and salad bar (not sure the hours for the latter, though). The store isn't super easy to find, but there is plenty of parking. (You don't have to be a member BTW to shop here.) I wish there were more groceries like this everywhere!
